    Всё же какое чудо выдаёт эта волшебница и очень проникновенная Жанин Енсен !!! - молодчага...удивила.
    Мы ведь сейчас так избалованы очень высоким уровнем исполнения...но такое чудесное воплощение Брамса стало для меня оттого ещё более достойным...честное слово.
    Было бы лучшим найти более точные слова...сегодня моему старинному приятелю Гоше 57 лет и он обычно про такое говорит - эта артистка прямо душу выворачивает !!!
    Дай Бог долгого творчества в таком труднейшем деле - как скрипка...только этого и желаю всем музыкантам, кто вместе с ней творит удивительное чудо !!!

    I have seen the Brahms concerto performed live many times, listened to it on record and disk many times, but this performance is special. I actually prefer Jansen over Chang and Bell. Her performance of the Britten concerto also with Parvi is mesmerizing. The NHK Symphony Orchestra is brilliant under Jarvi's direction. This is one of those rare definitive performances.

    • @homeofcreation
      @homeofcreation 5 лет назад +4

      Janine herself regards Britten as the most intense to perform. During her burn out she could not image herself playing especially Britten ever again. She says so here ruclips.net/video/j-Esgjpl6x0/видео.html 34:24. It's in Dutch but she said during that period she couldn't even listen to that kind of passionate music.

    • @simonwong2738

      Talking about Britten, her performance with Harding and the Berliners at her younger age is still the best; unfortunately it has been removed from utube, waiting for somebody to upload it again.

      True also the her playing is very Sustained
      I like Sustained tonality cause or sums up the theory in a modern form

    The coda of the 1st movement beginning at 21:09 is one of my favourite passages in all of music, and it’s done perfectly here - every voice comes through individually (those violas! 😍) and yet it all fits together immaculately.

    Sublime. This performance is simply sublime. I am so thrilled to find this. The only problem is, the RUclips adverts that pop up without warning (no, I will not pay billionaires for a RUclips subscription so I can watch advert-free). These adverts are so jarring, not even between movements, but literally in the middle of phrases. Unconscionable. Here is a performance of the highest art, desecrated by capitalism. As I type this comment, I want to simply immerse myself in the music, but I can't - another advert could pop up at any moment. So, I will find a lesser interpretation, ad-free, something from the 1980s or earlier.

    Music gives meaning to sound, from meaning to sound, is born emotion. No need to introduce the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, Op.77, by Johannes Brahms, perhaps the most beautiful of the romantic violin concertos. Yet it is reputed to be one of the most difficult concertos to play. It was composed by Brahms at the request of one of the great violinists of the 19th century! A first plan of the work was made in four movements. The composer deleted the « Scherzo » which would reappear three years later in the material of the Second Piano Concerto, Op.83. The first movement opens with an « Allegro non troppo » which gives way to an orchestra of unusual richness. This movement follows the classical form with the double exposition of the orchestra and then the soloist. The interweaving of secondary motifs reveals the main theme of Tzigane allure. The writing of the violin is innovative because of its breadth. However, she also evokes a tribute to classicism. Johannes Brahms liked to repeat that the second movement was his weakness for the « Adagio » despite its melancholy. The passionate singing of the solo oboe preparing the entry of the violin in this chapter is particularly moving and celestial. The harmonization with the only wind instruments suggests it to us with insistence. In this same part, Brahms allows himself an infinity of respirations for one of the most beautiful themes of the concertante literature. The « Allegro giocoso non troppo vivace » which closes the score revives melodies in the Hungarian style. The chords and rising octaves of the violin expand the technique of the instrument with sudden changes of measure. The brief cadence of Brahms' hand accentuates the feeling of exuberance of this page worthy of a peasant festival. This masterful work has become a great classic in the repertoire for violin and orchestra. A beauty! *Lucien*

    The opening of the Brahms always reminds me of the Normandy D-Day landings. As the Orchestra builds the crescendo I visualize the landing crafts moving towards the beach and when the violin starts the solo I can see the ramps opening and the soldiers pouring out of the landing crafts and hitting the beach. And as the violin continues playing I can see the soldiers running and falling. I have had this vision since 1968.

    Wow!! I expected something else, from the comments. This person is not one born to play the violin. She has worked hard at it. Listen, many violinists play this piece with better intonation, better mastery of that right arm. It's an organic performance. But she was definitely there for it. It's also a hard piece. Technically, and then all that phrasing that never really lands solidly on a melody. 1st mvmt. It's demanding in ways you can't see. Nigel Kennedy plays this very well. This performance here. Its gutsy, is what it is. Authentic. Bravo.

    Paavo Järvi is one of my favorite conductors among Christian Thielemann. In Estonia there is a joke, that Finnlad is considered to be the country with thousand lakes (tuhande järve maa), but Estonia is country with thousend Järvis (järv, järve and järvi are different grammatical forms from the noun “lake”)… Nearly 30 members of this family are all musicians!

    And when I find my voice again, after this astonishing meeting I can say all kind of words, you know them all, so I will not say them. The only thing I will say is that it was a happy meeting between Janine and Brahms. The rest is silence.
