- Welcome back guys! Here’s my 3 month update on our 2025 Subaru Forester Premium! It competes against the 2025 Mazda CX-50, the 2025 Mazda CX-5, the 2025 Toyota RAV4, and the 2025 Honda CR-V. But the Forester was the right choice for us.

In 8 months I've only put about 2,100 miles on my Forester. That will change when I retire at the end of the year. For those who complain about power, for the type of vehicle this is the Forester has plenty enough power for everyday driving. It's done well for us on two Turnpike trips and more than holds it's own under highway conditions. I've really grown to like the adaptive cruise control. It performs very well and to see how it adjusts speeds to traffic conditions is impressive. I love the vehicle indicator on the instrument panel as the vehicle brakes showing the tail lights illuminating for traffic in back of me. Recently I took it on a gravel back road that was narrow and fairly rutted. I was very impressed how well it handled under the conditions. I have a whole new level of appreciation for just how well the suspension handles under those conditions. Overall, very happy with my 2024 Forester Touring Edition.
My wife and I just recently bought our 2025 forester sport and we love the vehicle. We plan on taking it to road trip but the suv drives phenomenal. Not as slow for the people who keep complaining bout turbo
This 2024 I no longer depend on the government or salary to survive. "Of course, trading is a safer way to earn more money now because I have earned up to 352,000 thousand US dollars recently. Work will only pay your bills, business will make you earn." You are rich, but trade makes and keeps you rich, the future is inevitable...
I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $21k passively by just going into crypto investment , and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic
How
..? Am a newbie in crypto investment, please can you guide me through on how you made profit?

I'm surprised you mentioned and recommended Ksenia Alice. I came across the testimony of one of her clients on CNBC news last week.
Picked up our 2025 Sport last Friday. Got 29 to 33 with mostly highway on our 850 mile trip home. Computer screen works fine once you figure out where everything is. Adaptive cruise control and lane control work great. Just have to remember it will slow you down a.d keep spacing. Youll be going 60 in a 75 if you get behind a slow vehicle without realizing it. Stereo is perfectly adequate. One gripe is how much road grime the back window catches in the rain. Seats are very comfortable. I do wish the low beam headlights went out farther and slowly disappeared instead of looking lime a black wall between light and dark. Power was very adequate even though cant take the car over 4000 rpm yet.
I'm glad you're enjoying your Forester. It's not a surprise, and regardless Toyota's 20% stake in Subaru and their Rav4 I believe Subaru's Forester is a winner after so many years of production. Thank you for keeping us updated on your Subarus!
Roughly 1/3 of the way through the video I kept saying that I know that voice. Then the flash bulb went off.
If you have ever seen the original version of Total Recall ? Then you may remember the auto driving cab drivers
"Welcome to Johnny Cab." Now I can't imagine a video you do without an ending like: "that will be 3 credits."
Wish Subaru would end the prop rods on the vehicle hoods. And add heads-up displays with traffic sign monitors.
Thanks for the updates! 👍Enjoy the ride!
Hahaha I haven’t heard of that, but it sounds funny. Especially the “3 credits” portion. 🤪 Thanks for watching again!
As long as Subaru has that infotainment display and the HVAC controls on the screen, I am not interested. I find the prior gen Forester more appealing for that reason
💯 agree, it was the wrong move to incorporate that screen as standard in every new Subaru other than the base models, which is basically a double screen version of the same thing.
Most of the climate controls show all the time along with the heated seats, mirror defroster and a front window defroster button. I too wasn't a big fan of the screen but went with the 2025 for the more dependable CVT, a regular thermostat, quieter cabin, power band lowered to 3800 rpm, and wireless car audio.
@@gregdamitz9381 Yeah, but I hate them. Subarus UI looks cartoon and long outdated, plus I don't like their location and having to go through screens for things
@@jstrig if you hate them why are you here? I find a lot of buyers admit they can't afford the vehicles they hate.
@@justcollectingdust I could pay cash for this car today, if I wanted to. I was just curious how the first 3 months went
I wish that Subaru would have put the turn signal on the side view mirrors, the crosstrek premium has them on the side mirrors
Im in the market for a small family suv for my wife and daughter, been thinking about the cr-v also the mazdas are nice but I've always had Toyotas , went to a toyota dealership and walked right out when i noticed they still playing games with markups etc , i just want something with all the check marks ✅ safe, affordable, reliable, this new forester might not be the best looking compared to let's say a crv or a mazda cx-50 but it kinda checks all the boxes , decent price and you can get a discount right now, reliable( non turbo engine) ,decent space, safe .
Best of luck in your decision making process! Thankfully all of those options are likely top safety picks. I have a few comparisons to release soon between the Forester to CX-5 and the Outback to CX-50, I’ll probably release one this weekend. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2024 Crosstrek sport and I really like this Vehicle but my next one will be a Forester due to the fact that the crosstrek has very little trunk space
Subaru is a good car.
But the maintenance expense is highter than other japanese car.
I recommend learning a few basic DIY to save some money, even if that only includes changing out the engine and cabin air filter on your own.
Dude I’m looking hard at one but my commute is like 2,000 miles a month lol
I would like a hybrid version only if its advantages mimic the RAV4 Toyota’s with more MPG, smoother ride and power delivery. Subaru’s previous efforts have been quite underwhelming with a huge increase in price but a very marginal improvement in mileage or performance. The plugin version was silly where any significant press of the gas pedal or simply switching on a defroster would kick on the engine, negating the benefit of electric propulsion. Also, in an all-wheel mild off-roader it is madness to dispense with the spare tire… but Toyota somehow keeps its spare.
Good insight! I hope it doesn’t go away from the symmetrical AWD system, since that’s a big reason on why we like Subarus for winter driving.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I agree. The most lame thing about Toyota’s AWD is the use of a trivial and tiny rear electric motor as a substitute for full-time 4 wheel power delivery which gives Subaru a distinct advantage over other systems which only switch on the rear axle when there already is a loss of traction.
I had a chance to drive a new 2025 Forester and found that it really lacked engine power. At this time, they don't offer the turbo engine like the one in the Ascent. They salesman said they did not have a Wilderness with a turbo engine, a hybrid will be coming shortly. I live in the mountains of Northern California with no charge stations for miles. I decided not to buy.
In Europe we have the mild hybrid and the lack of push is astonishing. Hope they bring something more powerful soon. Honestly I don't get how a company roughly the size of Mazda can't equip more powerful engines. Mazda has recently brought a turbo Diesel 6-inline hybrid with insane torque and half the fuel consumption than that of the Forester.
Hi, did you have to turn off any safety features before taking it in the car wash? Thanks for your review!
Nope! Driving slowly into the wash that I use doesn’t have any issues pop up for the system. 🙂
Is your warranty a Subaru warranty or 3rd party? I didn't think Subaru did a 10yr. When we replace my wife's Outback I am going to put a warranty on it. Thank you.
It’s a Subaru warranty and it also covers bumper to bumper for 10 years! But negotiate the price, chances are you can get it for hundreds lower than their first offer. If not call around to other Subaru dealers.
Thanks! Yes, definitely would negotiate and contact other dealers. I’ve done that with other vehicles. I just saw they do have a 10 year but 100k is as high as they go for mileage. The 8 year is 120k. I guess I was looking for something that isn’t offered. Haha! Thanks again!
Do you think it's under powered or does it have enough get up and go? I have an outback xt with a turbo and concerned I won't be happy with a non turbo subaru.
In my experience so far it has only felt under powered when needing to floor it around slow moving traffic on the highway or interstate. But if you’re not in any hurry and not giving it full throttle it seems to be adequate. I’d recommend test driving one and take it on the interstate and spend enough time with it to drive it casually not just to experience it under full acceleration. Best of luck!
Find a dealer that rents 2025s and take a road trip. That's what we did before we ordered ours.
I love Subaru, but the more I look at this design the more I don t like it.
How much was the warranty
I was asked not to share the exact number because the dealership offered it to me for only a little above their cost. With that said, there’s definitely some wiggle room. So negotiate with the dealer and if you don’t feel like they’re coming down at least several hundred off of the first offer I would call other dealers to negotiate with.
12k on our 24 sport so glad we got the 24 before the change. Plan on upgrading to the Wilderness before the change next year
