Good review of the new Touring. I'm not sorry that I went with the 2024 Forester Touring. It has been the perfect vehicle for me. I really don't need the 360 camera or the ventilated seats. I prefer the 8" screen and control knobs my Forester has. I also saved over $4,000 between the savings on my Forester and the nearly 3k price increase on the 2025 models. As someone mentioned in one of the comments, having the wide open doors makes for great access and exit for people with larger builds (I'm one of them) as well as great room and comfort. I'm always amazed how a vehicle this compact looks and feels so big when inside. As to the comments on the lack of power, I find this has more than enough for everyday driving. I've never had an issue merging on the Turnpike and maintaining speeds. For me it's not a horse race. The best feature is the adaptive cruise control. It does a fantastic job reading the road and traffic in front of you. I've gotten very used to how it brakes and accelerates to the conditions on the highway. Probably the best I've ever experienced in a vehicle. One accessory I recently added was the Garmin Dash cam mini 2 to the vehicle. I purchased the Dongar wire adapter and it's literally plug and play through the connection to the dimming mirror. It saves you from having to run all the wires. I would recommend this set up along with the polarized filter. People have commented that can't even see it from outside and didn't notice it in the car as it is mounted behind the mirror. I can highly recommend it for those looking for a front Dash Cam only. Again another good review.
You can get a better discount than shown in the beginning. I bought my Touring trim at the end of August for 7.8% off MSRP. Loving the car and discovering new features every day. Didn’t know it had auto-sensing windshield wipers until it started to drizzle.
I like the new redesign….back looks more squared off like the 1st generation. Not a fan of the grill, but it will grow on me. Hopefully they put a different grill on the new Wilderness model. Overall, typical Subaru style…they won’t do anything drastic to keep the consumers happy.
Well, there's a growing bunch of Subaru owners getting dissatisfied with old engine tech. We are not in the 2000's anymore. Mazda is bringing fresh air in the engine department.
I have found that the worse thing you can do is floor a CVT! You have to give it a steady increase in throttle to have a smoother power curve and 0-60 times are much better!
I love my Touring. I am having so much fun with this car! I have owned her (Gretta) for about 2 months. She is going in this week for a makeover. I have the Autumn Green and adding bronze vinyl and bronze powder coat to the wheels to resemble the Sports model. I am using a nicer bronze color than the Subaru brown “bronze”. I love the camera feature in the rear view mirror and keep it on all the time so far. This camera might be why there is not a garage door opener function?? The 360° camera in “view mode” while parking is great. I am getting pretty good at being perfectly centered in parking spots. The lane assist reminds me to use my blinker when I feel my car correcting towards my lane so add “blinker use” to the safety list. I may be imagining, but the heated steering wheel is working better as I use it more. The heated seats are subpar. My after market heated seat in my 2008 Element was warmer than this. I’m from Alaska so that’s a biggie for me. (Spoiled??? Yes.) The foot activated trunk opener is pretty lame. I feel ridiculous kicking my foot under the car and standing backwards a step as the car registers the movement of the fob before opening. I think I look like a gymnast doing some kind of awkward dismount while trying to perform a magic trick. Alex’s next video could be a comedy…filming people in parking lots trying to open their foot activated back doors. Keep on making the videos! I have done a ton of research on picking my Subaru and your videos knock it out of the park as far as informational. One of my favorite is about how you wash your car. Thank you for helping me make my Touring decision. Although I loved that Sport.
“Greta!” What a great name for a Forester. Are you a naturally awkward, self-conscious person? I only ask as it’s inconceivable that a simple swipe of your foot to activate the automatic tailgate would generate so much angst. I always have to “step back” when the tailgate opens regardless of how I initiate the process. Well, continue to work on your significant issues and perhaps the engineers at Subaru will consider - or not - for future models. Yikes.
My personal con again it’s my con , as a 2 time forester owner with my current model being a xt touring trim is the engine that turbo charge engine is much better then the normal ice engine it’s no speed demon but trust me u feel the difference and not much in the mpg category Subaru bring bring back that trim or at least that option back , pretty please
Thanks! I’m really becoming curious on which hybrid system they are going with. If it will be the Toyota’s that likely would change the AWD system, or if it will be a better version of Subarus earlier hybrid system. 🤔
In the manual it states not to go over 4000 rpm or run at steady rpms for first 1000 miles. I would think wide open throttle at 13 miles isn't a great idea. Not saying break in is important, just pointing out it is in the manual.
Great review! It's incomprhensible to me that Subaru took away 2 hp's for more torque. In the most competitive market where other manufacturers install motors with more hp's. Also, I don't like that the heater seats indicators are now part of the 11.6" scree, and I read that are "subpar"? About the window washer spray also washes the moonroof window? Overall, the virtues seem to outweigh the shortcomings in this new Subaru iteration though. It's a winner.
Wait!!!!.....at 10:52 you mentioned garage door openers in the rear view mirror! I have a 25 Forester Touring on order and was told that there are no garage door opener buttons. Are they now available?
I actually did a video titled something like “testing the 2025+ Subaru foresters safety features”. Check that one out and let me know what it missed and what you would like to see different if I recreate it! Thanks!!
I test drove one of these and I’m in the minority…it was so blah. The seats killed my lower back even with the lumbar support. I felt ashamed. I wa also spoiled since I also happened to test drive a 2018 which was way more fun to whip around. Made me wish I had gotten one of those generation Fozzies
I would love to, but it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon. I need to establish a Toyota connection which reputable dealers are a couple hours drive away and doing videos as a hobby makes farther travel difficult while still having a full time job. So I’m sorry! 😅
I gave you a thumbs up but not fully outstanding review ... Why would anyone want a HOT short lived turbo or manual (had all that in my younger days Vet) in this family car? One of the most outstanding features of the Forester is the VERY wide opening front doors ... loved by large guys! ... you did not give a full demo of the adaptive cruise control that will keep your set distance from the car in front and will stop if you happen to not see it stop. This is real safety .. ! There are other good items you missed ... I am on my 4th Forester... you might say I love them. 😀
Why would anyone want a boring NA without a turbo? Weak engine, boring drivetrain and slug on the highway. Needs the XT just like offered on the Outback. 😅😂🤷♂️🤦♂️🤣
All is well... EXCEPT for that front end. There is nothing 'Subaru' about it. They need to change that. And should do so asap. Sales are down for the all-new Forester.
Absolute garbage vehicle compared to the competition. The screen blacks out as the 360 camera is turning 🤣. Wtf is that haha. The engine sounds like a 1995 microwave. Subaru you are simply clueless.

Me too I've got the River Rock Pearl w/ Brown leather Touring!

@@charleshamilton9274 Do you like your foot activated rear opener?

Great video, as always. Just needs more power. I really hope the hybrid helps.

Thank you for the informative overview. I really enjoy your channel. It has helped me to decide on a Subaru as my next SUV purchase.
I’m so glad my videos have been found helpful to you!! Thank you for choosing to watch them. 🙂
As always great video
Thank you, I appreciate your support! 🙂
Wait!!!!.....at 10:52 you mentioned garage door openers in the rear view mirror! I have a 25 Forester Touring on order and was told that there are no garage door opener buttons. Are they now available?
Same here. I heard from my dealer Subaru is bringing out a replacement rearview mirror for existing owners. Unsure of timing but possibly SEP '24.
I don’t work for a dealer so I hadn’t heard they were temporarily not available. 😅 Thanks for sharing this, and hopefully they’re available!
@@markberry2987SOA has said the exact opposite. No homelink will be available. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
I took delivery of a 25 touring in early August. The digital mirror has no Home-link buttons. I just use my remote clipped to the visor.
Can you go on a long drive and show everything about the safety features and adaptive cruise control sometime?
I actually did a video titled something like “testing the 2025+ Subaru foresters safety features”. Check that one out and let me know what it missed and what you would like to see different if I recreate it! Thanks!!
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I think I will do just that!
Sorry, not clear: you mentioned that 6th gen has wilderness transmission as 5th gen ?
That’s what I had read, but there’s limited sources that cited that specific upgrade and whether or not it has the transmission cooler.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I see.

Still sluggish despite all the nice features. Won't buy it until they have Touring XT. That turbo makes all the difference.
Ha-ha, it's a faceless copy of the Ascent. And as before, no hood soundproofing. With the template square wheel arches like everyone else
You misinformed the public!!! The touring model does not have Homelink.
Quite pissed about it.
Oops! Thanks for calling this out. Our Premium has it, but it was an add on option.

So what you're saying is that all your other reviews are not honest
That’s exactly what I’m saying, I’ve turned a new leaf! 😉
An absolute SLUG for power / acceleration!
very stressful talk...why this hurry?
