I'm Josh with Cotton and Hollow. We make funny things, we make useful things and we end up in many improbable situations. If you've got this far in the description you are an intrepid explorer of boxes and I approve you as a comrade in curiosity. So join me on this adventure as we make multitudes of majorly magnificent videos as we be excessively modest and have a good time! Thanks for watching and reading, give yourself a cookie.
Thanks for bulling Tony the Tiger in part of the video, bastard has been using me as a chew toy -.-
Now that you guys showed how crits work, can you explain how most of the elements and statuses work exactly? I'm still confused about fire and poison.
Basically an invisible bar gets filled and once filled they either become poisoned or on fire. If they become on fire they thrash around on the ground trying to put it out.
@Demon Intellect how does ice work? I've never tried the other ailments just poison but I'm building a raw build that doesn't rely on crit but ill prob make a raw build with crit to test the difference
@@cryssyyxx I think it just slows down the movement of the enemies by a little bit.
@Demon Intellect hmm will have to play around with that n see if its worth it cuz as of right now ik everyone says not to really worry about elements or ailments
@@cryssyyxx I don't really use them. I'd definitely do a general raw version of the weapon you like and then maybe later do elemental ones.
Great video and thanks for the content for Wild Hearts. This is a really fun game and really hoping they to build on what they have.
My thing was the human and Kemono paths, they obviously need certain materials like Tears or Blood but my thing was "how to get these specific materials?"
What I'm to understand is that Kemono Blood is what you get for prioritizing basic weapon combos and to obtain the Tear Drops, you need to prioritize using thread combos.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong but this is my understanding
Total rng
@@Just1nist it's not though
Since I stopped playing MH I haven't watched your channel much. Glad I'm back into a hunting game, love your guys channel!
Can't wait for invincible build for wildhearts
I have yet to pick a main weapon, but I thank you guys for all the videos. They have helped this old guy suck at this game a bit less.
I don't really think this game you need to "main" anything. All the weapons are fun and promote a very fast and aggressive playstyle.
@@demonintellect9834 Except the Nodachi
@@theunderdog9353 It is. If you are playing it like MH where it is just used for one big slash then that is why youd think it is slow
@@demonintellect9834 The Nodachi is clearly not built as an aggressive weapon. The best way to deal damage is to keep your draw attack up and find openings as you dodge through a Kemono's attacks. It's vety opportunistic and definitely a defensive weapon. Yes, it has meaty hits, but you only achieve them by playing defensively
@@theunderdog9353 So you play it wrong. Got it
My favorite skill is on the fumebeak boots in the kemono path. They have a skill that regenerates stamina while running. I always was running out of stamina now I never do.
It's on the Deathstalker and Amaterasu boots as well
@@tomhourie9172 you can get it as a talisman too
@@tomhourie9172 nice definitely a very useful skill to have in games like these stamina is everything
So many words, and I still can’t figure out how to max out my katana in chapter 1
Does anyone know if they came out with the patch to fix the frame issues ? I just started to get them after finishing the story and it’s kinda getting annoying.
Tendon Vine Shrimp Liger Kemono looks neat
Weapon color tier? Where is that located?
Btw when you use the claw blade and you're in air mode you can attack that specific part that you used the claw on by pointing the analog stick down for more efficient damage?
if you are directly on that spot yes up or down is preferred as it will "technically" keep in place, left and right is for moving yourself around while damaging so like say you clawed the tail and wanted to move to the front you could horizontal to the front, launch again and then vertical as it will pull you torwards it. The better your timing also can make it to where you arent stuck going too far off and will actually slow down how much movement you are doing causing you to do more hits than normal
Hi, what exactly is "Hunter's Arm" skill and how to activate it? btw thx greate video. I rather go human side, but there is helm with immune to roars on the bad side, it is sooo good.
Hunters arm is when you jump and grab on a monster and use L2(not sure input on pc) to extract thread from the glowing blue bits
@@MrBunchButtons Thank you so much kind sir!! I did that maybe 2 times, so skill activcation in thaat case is not for me. Thank you for your time to anserw, have a greate day!
Does vengeance work with umbrella parry?
If you take dmg it does.
Can the dawn arms and gt pants stack?
Is it safe to say cannons are pummel?
Hey, can you explain how time chamber works? Im wa wagasa player and dont know if this help with gaining gage or holding it longer :s
Need clarification on how to get the materials for the human and kemono path armor pieces. Is it random or do you need to craft the base armor first?
Craft base armor first
ive crafted base armor for all my armor im interested in using but no matter how many times i hunt the kemono needed to get more armor peices to comeplete human and kemono paths nothing new is unlocking in the fordge to craft in either human or kemono path. am i just getteing insainly unlucky on unlocking more peicese of armor or is my game bugged?? eg: all base white fang and all base draconic crafted total Golden Tempest salin = 15 total celestial dragons salin = 20 and ive only unlocked the head peice and body peice on both for kemono path and human path im missing legs for white fang set and legs and arms for draconic on human path.

Just wanted to post so I don't forget to follow up later. Yellow tier weapons are NOT always better. When factoring in certain talismans and armor you can push a 4 star weapon to absurd numbers.
Fairly disappointed with your WH videos compared to MH so far, it feels like you're rushing to get content out as opposed to actually doing enough research like with MH
Feel free to explain what you mean, first up 5 star weapons are yellow tier, the highest purple goes is 4 star, but even if you make one of the 25% crit weapons (maul as an example, 862 attack 25% crit) into a 100% crit weapon somehow, that would make it have 1.5x effective raw, which is 1293. That is still 7 lower than the yellow raw weapons with no upgrades or skills devoted at all. Yes armour and talismans are a factor, but if you devoted your armour and talismans to a yellow weapons you get better results in every example I've seen so far. Unrelated, but obviously ignore the scam bot above this comment please haha
I feel like umbrella tree might have some weapons like this. "Top tier" damage weapons dont rly have dodge master 50% and also have kinda meh crit on them
@@CottonDynosour Sorry stars were mixed up, not that it changes anything. You can easily get Deathstalker tree to 100% crit after part break and with crit fury talismans as well I currently have 94% crit chance and 65% crit dmg pushing it well beyond any builds I've seen for yellow weapons thus far. With lower innate crit they just don't benefit the same from those talismans. Not saying there isn't a setup that would work better with yellow weapons. My point is just that certain builds are just as viable with purple weapons and yellow is not ALWAYS superior.
If the math in the video is correct, your maul with 862 attack would have an effective raw damage of 1721 which far outclasses the yellow weapons.
I do believe that builds with yellow weapons will always be superior IF YOU HAVE the absolute best builds possible, but not everyone will have that RNG and not all talisman combinations have been explored yet. Only time will tell.
@@kylerxius The issue with that is that crit on part break isn't active a whole lot of the hunt, it only lasts a few seconds after a part break and you would need to chain part breaks to keep 100%, but if you do that it means you are rotating off of the weakest body part which innately lowers your damage. As well, the best yellow maul has 30% attack boost as an innate skill which gives it 1690 attack before any inherited skills, armour skills, or talismans. I definitely agree that purple weapons have their place, but if you are talking proper endgame builds as I was in the video yellow weapons have much higher potential peaks
The best way to explain this is for example for the maul I have, I have the purple lava back maul that has a chance to ignite a monster. On the hammer I put traits that increase damage with fire element and stronger extended maul damage(strong attack). From there I have attack talisman that increases stun and normal attack by +5, I have two of these. Then I have more attack talisman that increase crit damage, normal damage by +3, and fire element damage by 15%. All together I have a +60% increased fire element damage, +25 normal attack and +28% increased crit damage. My maul does 2000+ damage pert hit with a crit of 6000-9999 damage. It literally takes me maybe 3-5 minutes to kill the vile version of the monsters with my maul. Perhaps in the future I can figure out a build for the final upgrade mauls, but they simply don’t do near as much damage as my purple maul does.
I tried following the path on the claw blade like in this video but I’m not sure how he managed to get both turbulence fury and tigers den all the way around like that.
does the weapon come with it?
Am I the only one that heard him say longsword instead of katana? lol
I think I be going kemono path because I see massive damage potential with the kemono path
Yes, raw power is kemono path while human path is more hybrid since lots of the skills is combined with the karakuri
makes endgame on deeply monsters a lot easier than human path
@@akroneria unless u die from the extra dmg taken, tho? I guess it make up for it as you should be able to dodge alot by then though...
@@kimball4699 the extra damage taken is almost non existent that its funny
What counts as a draw attack in this game, like if I hit something with a fully charged nodachi attack, will it count if I didnt land anything else?
So anything that comes from the sheath is considered a draw attack so the lunges from a neutral position where the wepon is not out or the ei slash of the katana and nodach charge slash
@@RageDuck0 so any attack from ia slash counts pretty much, what about the two hits on the final charge, what gets the bonus, just the first hit or both
im curious if anyone tested it, does the heavy attack on katana count as a draw attack? i mean the iai combo, where you sheathe first and then spam like 50 cuts
It should as long as it's done within the timeframe. When you draw your weapon you will see the buffs come up underneath the health bar. I used it to get more damage out the cannon blast, same with crit draw
From some Reddit post i've seen, yes, the heavy attacks that show you putting the katana into the sheath as part of the combo seems to trigger the draw attacks but end before the full spam cuts of the final attack, so people suggest to only do a few into the finish.
how do you farm the the celestial dragon to get the parts?
go back to the mission for it, will appear on map
@@akroneria
I did but he doesnt appear in the arena. is there something I'm missing?
@@pampachu in that case in minato try talking to the lady directly above you when you load in her quest lines are for fighting the bosses again in the order they came

Deaf ears literally never works for me 😭
It has a high chance to work, it doesn’t always work. You can tell when it activated when you see the text on left side of the screen stating “Deaf Ears Activated”.
1 minute in an still yappin, nty
I kinda have seen that certain weapons are also more effective against certain monsters I generally like to have a few different weapons to make my playing more versatile... My favorite weapons so far are the katana the claw blade the staff and the nodachi... Bows are nice and great for breaking parts but often to slow for solo play the umbrella is cool but sucks for my playstyle and the bazooka kinda sucks yeah its a great weapon but it slows you down to much in aggressive monster hunts and haven't tried using the maul as it doesn't seem like I'd enjoy it to much...
Does anyone know if you can actually make most layered armour? I cant seem to find Volatile Deathstalker on either of it's spawn points and there's no mission to hunt one. Same with many of the creatures besides the handful it lets you fight in mission hunts.
I spent about 10 hours looking for it but it does exist. I just constantly rested at camp to respawn the large kemono til it spawned and even then I didn’t get a guaranteed orb drop.
@@Volsungthesexy so pretty much is non existent then. Did you atleast get a quest to hunt it after you killed it?
@@truebacon133 If I remember correctly I think I had a quest for a volatile deathstalker and cobalt lavaback or frosttusk but it was deathstalker with one of them.
@@Volsungthesexy hmmm yeah I just killed 3 and didn't get an orb on any 🤔
Puhhh the Armor Set ist worst for 6 Stars Kemono or Higher

The last few upgrades of all the trees are yellow. Raw as in they don't have an element
