One thing about the thread Shrine: Its not a mimic effect. It is literally Hunters Arm. Not only does it give you max thread to begin a fight, but it also triggers all Hunter Arm related skills (And the Fisherman quest too), So the Shrine ends up being a massive personal power boost on top of the Thread benefits as soon as the hunt begins.
No one forgets about the vines. The issue with them is that they always disconnect if you host multiplayer. They're just so unnecessarily time consuming to maintain because of that bullshit.
THE STAR BOMB it deflects most kemono attacks especially attacks where the kemono tries to land on you, and it does damage! Its basically a worse version of shield wall that instead deals damage and will eventually light the kemono on fire for a huge opening. Great control/damage for 6 thread very slept on.
I'm glad everybody is enjoying this game. I'm enjoying it too, but I'm playing on PS5 and since the patch a few days ago and reaching game completion status, my game is now just borderline unplayable. At first it was the Natsukodachi Isle map when the blue flames appear, but even past that phase my game is mostly in the 20FPS region, and honestly it dips to single digits sometimes, it's become horrible and I'm bitter about playing it now. Recently this has started happening in my other regions too. I'm pretty frustrated to be honest, they need to fix it ASAP and I don't hear enough people talk about similar issues on console. The slow FPS also slows down the game, so a 10 minute hunt takes literally 20-30 minutes of pure slow motion.
Im on ps5 and things have been silky smooth. Are you using the option that prioritizes visuals? Im using the “performance” option and getting mostly consistent 60 and it barely looks different. I noticed it was sludgey with the other option when I was in minoto but didn’t try to hunt anything. Feel free to asks questions. I can’t promise I can help but I love this game so I want others to have fun too. If I can help I’ll help. Definitely switch that option if you haven’t.

i think this might vary too much from player to player. where someone might like some vines, another might like a roller, or just sail down with a glider. my best advice would to just make sure you’ve got a good way to quickly get to the fight points on a map from your camps, however it works best. experiment, and don’t be afraid to build something cuz you can always tear it down. (hopefully they’ll let us tear down dragon karakuri from the map in an update, which shouldn’t be hard to implement since you can already upgrade dragon pits from the map, provided you’ve found them the first time already.)
The genuine best advice for this is that as long as you dedicate some time to setting stuff up (after upgrading your d pits of course) it will work fine. Its all up to personal preference you just have to actually bite the bullet and set stuff up. I’m in the middle of that rn and yeah it sucks a little but in the end it will feel so good.
there’s also a SECOND flying vine type that uses the “water” resource, and can be used to attack kemono. i forget their name, but they look just like the normal flying vine (except red) and come as an upgrade, so it’s not immediately clear that it’s a totally separate karakuri
I really try to like this game but I always reach a point of frustration. Just when I'm starting to enjoy myself something comes along and ruins my fun. I keep getting Karakuri and think "wow that would have been useful 10 hours ago when I had to put the game down or break my console in anger" Also that trap took 3 attempts when the "awakening" happened to actually awaken. I got the prompt, tried to make it and got blind sighted by the Kemono.

@@sinteleon Yes, they deal damae, and follow the kemonos movements but do not interrupt anything. It does not happen all the time, but too often for me to use it comfortably. The best maul in the game is the fire maul(the huge glowing blue one from the enhanced lavaback). It does massive damage and stun, as well as decent chance of igniting the monsters. Make sure you add skills that increase fire damage and then you’ll be doing between 1500-3000 damage per hit to the monster.
