I've got so many great memories of going to the games, the walk down the high Street, the queen's pub, the noise and atmosphere is something I will never forget. Along with the joys and heartache of the games played there. Very sad to see it all gone.

Thank you so much for this! I use to live in Walton Road and loved being so close to the stadium. I use to watch the games in the Boleyn and sometimes in the grounds. I don’t know why I’m crying, this video brought so many memories. :( I’m living in NZ at the moment and hopefully l can go back home.

Exactly, rose, the two clowns knew where they were going to make a few quid.......on our beloved boleyn ground, the angels must of screamed when they bulldozed their sacred ground, I for one have never been able to go to Upton Park, because I live in the countryside, but I have west ham in my blood and veins, I've seen great managers that have managed our ground, and great players too,.... but the Olympics stadium is not owned by us....we just rent it out....the LLDC own the ground, we just pay £2.5 million a year.... the 3 clowns are known in my eyes... murderers, after killing our ground, so in a way I feel as Exactly the way you feel, angry, bitterness, painful, hurtful,

@Bonny Hammer l did live there for a good decade right round Walton Road but had to go for better work opportunities. Nothing like the East End. Gets bad rep but it will always feel like home.

@Bonny Hammer that don't even make sense
What's where we live got to do with loving Upton Park on a match day???

    • @lewisdowsett8390
      @lewisdowsett8390 3 года назад

@Bonny Hammer but they are the local team to essex especially Hornchurch wtf lol
Many many many lived in the East end and moved out to Essex for many reasons so they were our local team and in my case my kids are following me to west ham even though I live in Essex because west ham united is in my family's dna...your point is crazy tbh

Gooner here. I used to live in Plaistow for years. I’ve always found this area to be rough, saturated with immigrants (as the end has been for generations) and financially under supported. This is area is prime example of White flight. As for the club. Football is about money, heritage only means something to us fans.
London is now one large housing estate, as attractive as some of the projects are.

I was part of the final cadre of the safety team that worked at the Boleyn Ground and as a fan of the hammers it was an absolute pleasure to be part of the team. I cannot believe its been five years since it all ended. It is such a shame to see the Boleyn Ground gone and all the history associated with it. Very sad feeling I have watching this video as I personally have never been back to Upton Park since 2016. I really feel for the supporters who didn't want the move to Stratford- the forgotten ones. COYI

I moved from Newham 14 years ago,I wondered what it looked like just like Lego pieces, great memories watching the Hammers play, does not matter what they do to Newham over many years it has become a dump, such a shame it was once a sought after area to live in now some people cant wait to get out of the place.

A piece of history knocked down after two clowns overtook the club, they ripped the heart and soul of Upton Park...London Olympics stadium will never ever be our home.....not in a million years...the only difference is between Upton Park and the Olympic stadium... that Olympics Park you need binoculars to see the player if you sit right up in the stadium great names have played at Upton Park

Sad, so very sad...I used to live a 5 min walk to the Boleyn ground, the Anne Boleyn was my local. Shite Taylor-Walker beer, but nonetheless a decent boozer.
When WH moved from E13 to E20, I moved 6000 miles away to SE asia. Used to go to games regularly in the 80's. Never been to the London Stadium.
This vid really brings a tear to my eye. That whole area just looks bereft of community spirit now. I could be wrong tho...Not bin there for some time....
Ps. Has Nathans Pie n' Mash shop gone forever ?

Thanks for this I was wondering what it was like now just a couple of days ago. Great times, great memories. An enormous wrench to leave but i just it was time to move on.
My guess is in 10-15 years we will be in a state of the art purpose built stadium on the London Stadium site that we own.

Went to the Boleyn pub after the Man utd game a few weeks ago, was heart breaking walking down green street. Destroyed the history of the club, the area used to be vibrant, it's now as soulless as the London stadium. please go gold, Sullivan and Brady, GSB out
