When I was a kid we had our hard wood floors refinished with a Swedish finish. The house was 60 years old so you can imagine the wood in the floors had shrunk a bit and this is what the finisher did. This was before all of the more exotic epoxy resins but who knows, maybe he used a poly or even some form of shellac. All I know is it worked great.
A man with courage. I would have loved to do a Herringbone with different woods and I even had a friend who had a lot of small end pieces that he would have given me and I could have bought the rest but I didn't have faith in myself or doors. Pets and an open floor plan don't mix well with sanding, staining (if that is your choice) or the final finish coats. It would have cost me more to board the animals than have it installed. He gave me a good deal and probably used many of the small pieces he had saved for me.

@Danny_Sandhouse good as you say you are, this is about the cheapest half done way to "fix" these floors. If you are going to pay for solid floors, install them correctly. I can't believe someone with your reputation would "fix" a floor like this. This is a disaster.
Looks fine now, but I'd like to see how it looks in a few years. Expansion and contraction over time will bring those defects out, maybe looking worse with filler in place. Natural wood had gaps, even if the saw was set up correctly. Most people get used to it. I think it still looks better than fake solid wood.
The simple fixes most dont know. I do the exact same thing when i do VCT flooring. Though with that, you just scrape the edge of some scrap flooring with your hook knife then proceed to sweep it around with a push broom. Boom. Perfection.
Hats off to the guy for DIYing it that size, I did 6m2 in my office and I only had maybe 2-3 small gaps, took attention to my markings etc, also nailed every few so they couldn’t slide around. Back breaking work been on hands and knees all day laying them. Not sure if the floor adhesive was a good choice Bostil, was really hard to spread and squish each piece into and slide together the tongue and grooves . Extremely messy never again for me, I’ll pay a carpenter 😂
Am I missing something? If you applied the first board and there’s a gap, wouldn’t you want to solve that first before you plant another board? Why create a bigger problem?
The gaps mainly seem to be on the ends of the boards, because his saw didn’t cut the exact 90° angle he needs on the ends of the boards for them to all fit perfectly, and he likely cut most of the boards in one go, rather than doing it board by board. At least that’s how I would’ve done it if I was doing this. It’s quicker, but that means any errors you made in setting the saw up (like not making sure it’s at exactly 90°) is gonna be a consistent thing with every board you cut.

Cause that way the final floor becomes a seamless solid structure and is smoother then a baby's ass
Actually not a bad job for a person's first time installing a floor. My first time was installing a floating floor on the most uneven base ever because it was an older building and a lot of the rooms had a little bit of a tilt to them because of the foundation settling over the years. When you install a floating floor on an uneven surface, the pieces refuse to fit together perfectly like a puzzle as intended. I got it to look good, but after a month or so some of the boards started sliding from people walking on it and a few half inch to 1 inch gaps showed up, so I just used a wood adhesive and a rubber mallet to put the boards back into place, sanded a little, and it looked great after that, but it's still one of the most annoying jobs I've ever done even though it should've been simple.
I was gonna say what happens if the resin isn’t the finish they wanted. Then I waited to finish the video and saw you sanded the top layer off. Nice touch 👍
