I'm using SNMPv3 in my environment. Could anyone help which what parameters need to be added and to what line of the code to make this work? SNMP and coding is new to me.
this is the most secure way I would configure SNMP. It is in Excel and uses Visual Basic so it will never be hacked. We have never had any issues with the security of Visual Basic or using SNMP v2 in the past.

What does the string " "public", 2, 1000" mean? And what if the switch is password protected?
public is the community name. 2 is how many times to retry and 1000 is the timeout in ms.

This is absolutely crazy. There are hundreds of free web based tools to monitor switches, why in gods name would you use excel?

Why this row y = x + 5
Because the first interface (GigabitEthernet0/0/1) appears as "ifDescr.6" in Mib browser.
Also, there is x =1 in the code.
So 1 + 5 equals 6, 2 + 5 equals 7 and so on

I really want to watch this video, but that robo-voice is bloody awful! 🤬
I hate them as well. I think it would be better to just have large text onscreen with no robo voice or simply not make the video at all. I'm saying this as someone who has never published a video containing my voice on youtube.
The robot voice SUCKS, but the concept is interesting, Excel is an interesting and dangerous program that I've used to do some very "non-excel" things with.
