theory that just occured to me: the heart represents not who's in lewis's heart, but rather _who his primary focus is._ it's orange by default because lewis's primary focus is enacting revenge on arthur. this is why it's blue and cracked after vivi leaves, and goes back to normal after her petals are put back, since she's his anchor, and having her (or at least some part of her) with him is able to set him back on track. this is why it turns gray/shattered at the end of hellbent/start of future--his primary focus has been finished (hence orange leaving), but he realizes that it was a horrible mistake, and the grey could represent him realizing he loves _all_ of his friends (grey being combination of all colors) or realizing his loneliness (grey representing absence of color) or just representing his own regret (grey representing grief)

So the flowers basically blow to where the corresponding person is. Makes sense, also explains why mystery was scared, as Shiro now knows where he is. Lewis put the blue flowers in his locket so he could find Vivi.
Or that the flower Wes vivi blue to fix his lockit
my interpretation of the flowers is that they are basically a physical representation of the soul of whoever the flower is for, and the flowers carry a small amount of... power... from that soul and thus the more powerful the soul, the harder the flower is to make, which is why she couldn't create a flower for mystery at first, she didn't have enough power to summon that small part of his soul, the cave is tied very closely to the soul of lewis, so being in the cave was practically enough to summon the flower of lewis on it's own.
lewis's locket contains his paranormal powers so by touching the locket shiro borrowed some of his power, along with the memories of his friends, which gave shiro the power and a sort of "base" to make the flowers from. lewis put the blue flowers into his locket because it is basically a part of vivi's soul, which healed the locket due to him actually having a bit of vivi's soul next to his, this also allows him to "feel" her location sort of like a compass using the magnetic field of the earth to point in the direction of the poles.
the flowers being tied to/ a piece of the soul also explains why arthur reacted the way he did when lewis stomped on his flower.
Just realized, the fact she was able to pull all of the flowers out of the one locket, is literally representative of the TRUE image in the locket - not just Lewis and Vivi, but the four of them as a group. Arthur squinting in The Future to see it, it was the true image all along. How else was she able to get the connection to Mystery and Arthur (the yellow flower she pulls up in the first three)? It just makes sense. Good ass foreshadowing there.

Frozen Soul I’ve watched this about 10 times in my life right now and you are correct. Just a face of confusion is beautiful.
HOT TAKE:
Mystery is the one erasing Vivi and Arthur’s memories of Lewis, and doing it while they’re sleeping. Hence why Vivi looks the way the does before she reacts to her flower being cut.
Arthur has known that Mystery isn’t a normal dog ever since his arm was ripped off. So he started losing sleep for fear that Mystery would attack him again.
Arthur stopped sleeping altogether when he started seeing Mystery in his dreams. Mystery, unable to get into Arthur’s mind, hasn’t been able to erase as much as with Vivi.
In this episode, Arthur not only slipped up, but he caught Mystery in the act.
The whole plot of this is that they’re still looking for purple guy. You can see the map on his laptop is all the places they’ve checked. Because when Yellow man killed purple man he was possessed and Yellow Man thinks Lewis just disappeared but purple man thinks Yellow Man did it of his own free will.

I just realized, at 2:33 is the first instance where we see Arthur not knowing Lewis was the ghost, and doesn't even know that he died as it appears he is actively looking for him.

For those of you confused, here is what is the interpreted plot of video:
Shiromori (the plant/flower woman) is tracking Mystery, as she appears to have some as of now unknown past connections to him. Following the petals, which essentially are used to track the desired individual, she arrives at the cave Lewis had died at - a place Mystery had previously been. Upon arriving there, Shiromori attempts to create a plant tied to his essence, but it wilts, meaning that Mystery is not there. As she angrily begins to leave to cave, Lewis' own essence creates a flower in her hand, and she decides to follow whereverthe petals take her. The petals of Lewis' flower take Shiromori to the site of the mansion from the first video, "Ghost." She grabs Lewis' heart in an attempt to channel its essence to locate Mystery, but instead, it grows flowers for Arthur, Vivi, and Lewisi. These are not who she is looking for, so she cuts the flowers from her palm and tries once again, this time managing to grow a flower tied to Mystery;s essence. However, Lewis was "awakened" by petals from his "essence flower" and does not take to kindly to Shiromori using his heart. Lewis attacks Shiromori and takes his heart back. After Shiromori regrows, challenges Lewis to a fight. However, she soon realizes that if she fights Lewis, she might lose Mystery's trail, and decides to track him instead. After she leaves, Lewis picks up Vivi's flower, and notices how it appears to be moving towards a certain direction - more specifically, the direction in which Vivi can be found. She also notices Arthur's flower, and still under the impression that Arthur killed him willingly, crushes it.
Meanwhile, Arthur, "feels" his essence being stomped on by Lewis, though he does not know exactly what it was he felt. He is clearly sleep deprived from investigating sightings of Lewis, perhaps unaware that he had killed him that night in the cave. As he is looking at an old photo of Lewis and the rest of the gang, Vivi's eyes being to glow purple and Lewis disappears from the picture. This is the result of Lewis essentially wiping any memory of his from her mind so she did not have to remember watching him dies that night in the cave. This appears to agitate Mystery, who reverts to his true form - that of a six-tailed fox spirit. Arthur's mechanical arm appears to experience a malfunction, or a form of phantom pain, as it takes the place of the arm Mystery had bit off the night in the cave Arthur had been possessed so that the possession would not spread throughout his whole body. He appears to recognize that Arthur notices him and is alarmed. This is, however, revealed to have possibly been an illusion, as Arthur appears to wake up and freak out. Vivi wonders what the commotion is and Mystery just shrugs. As Vivi falls back to sleep, Mystery finds a petal from the flower Shiromori had blew earlier, and now realizes that she is tracking him, and may very well know where he is now.
Lewis uses the flowers from Vivi's plant in order to repair his broken heart (which was broken at the end of the last video), and can now track her location. As he floats into the road, he is hit by Rooster's (the driver) truck, and warps into into a "ghost truck" of sorts. He reforms and slams his foot on the gas, seeking to locate Vivi and extract misguided revenge on Arthur.

Ben and The Tree Woman (maybe Green Spirit too, but it could've easily been a lesser thing since it only stayed as Arthur's arm and Ben didnt destroy it, and Tree Woman was after Ben and not it.)

HOLY SHIT wait a second
So when Shiromori (hope I got her name right) first touches the cracked heart, she summons 3 flowers that all correspond to our main trio (and Mystery later). I never questioned why she was able to make Vivi and Arthur's flower, but now with the new animatic out revealing that the photo inside had actually everybody in it, this makes so much more sense!
Foreshadowing four years before!

yeah I saw it, I don't what it means. I didn't know their backstory yet and I assumed Arthur was erasing Lewis from Vivi's mind, and that is the reason why Mystery got mad and tried to scare Arthur to stop him from doing so. Knowing their story now, that doesn't seem likely anymore.

some crossed out, while one picture (along with one of Ghost Lewis) has question marks next to it which seems to indicate that not only did Arthur not recognize Lewis as a ghost, they don't even think Lewis is dead & they're still looking for him.
Also Vivi's eyes are glowing when Lewis was fading out of the picture implying some other force was removing Lewis from the Photo.
Mate if you saw a ghost you would stand there thinking "DUDE you remind me a a friend you must be them :D" you'd be fleeing and taking your friend with ya. In Arthur's defense, he most likely thought he was saving Vivi from death considering that Lewis was ready to attack him.

Shiromori (blue chick) is looking for mystery (doggo). She's already on his scent, leading her to the cave where Lewis (purple ghost) died. She uses his heart to try and create a flower to lead her to mystery, and succeeds. Then Lewis kicks her ass.
Meanwhile, Arthur (Orange) is searching for Lewis, who he and Vivi (blue haired girl) think are missing (we know from "ghost" that a possessed Arthur killed him while Vivi watched, but they seem to have forgotten. Mystery likely remembers). Arthur sees Mystery's ninetails form and freaks out, then Mystery sees the flower petal and realises Shiro is on his trail.
Lewis uses vivi's petals to heal his heart, then possesses a truck to give chase to Arthur.

Arthur felt left out by the group and became jealous, when he was cursed by something in the cave, his emotions just fueled the strength of whatever possessed him and then of course he murdered Lewis. It seems he doesnt remember killing Lewis but he clearly does remember Mystery is actually a Kitsune as he fears Mystery. Its seen in this when he instinctively grabs his robotic arm when Mystery appears next to him.
