+Yinlock I think this happened on July 10, 2010 during the Grand Opening of the course. At that time nobody knew the course better than Jack, he designed the course, & would have known the best way to play this shot. But there's knowing how best to play it, & then it going in. :-)
I'm sure he did it as a gag, thinking wherever it landed, he'd tell Miller, "See, that's how you do it". Other than actually making it, I'm impressed that, instead of being shocked like everyone else, he casually walked away saying, basically, "See, that's how you do it. Now shut up and play".
Equal best in my opinion with Tigers at the 16th in the masters from the back of the green in 2005 I think the 2 greatest golfers and shots of all time
We’ll you’re half right!! Tiger flushed his whole career down the drain, and will be remembered as being a miserable substance abusing punk Let’s see him win the masters at 46 Jack Gary Arnold Lee Julius etc are the real golf heroes
In fairness to Try Thinking, there's _always_ a bit of luck in sinking a really long putt. But being able to putt like Nicklaus considerably reduces the amount of luck needed.
@@trythinkingforachange4201 Oh I see how this works....If Tiger Woods makes that putt people talk about his skills. Jack is a little lucky if he makes the putt.
You couldn't have scripted that any better. I remember Jack being asked by an on-course correspondent how he holed a particular putt during his last round of a tournament he won and Jack looked a bit reflective and countered, "I willed that one in." Classic.
Jack Nicklaus was my favorite golfer since he came on the scene. back in 1960(?)...he wins his first Masters at 23 and then rolls up the wins and championships; even when anyone else won the games he was great to watch, he never quits or gives up and even if someone did match his wins, I wonder if they'd do it with Jack's great humility and intensity. He has kept this lover of the game sitting on edge of my chair often, he made the game so exciting.
Missed my shot in by a yard yesterday on this hole..ended up in that spot with about the same pin...took me 3 tries to get onto the right level (and 2 putt from there)..video can't capture how significant that slope really is..Jack is the man!

Lol I love this video! Jack just saying hit a good putt, waltzes over and throws his ball on the ground, grips it and rips it, and sinks the freakin putt like it was a tap in! Jack Nicklaus is the Boss of golf! The greatest golfer EVER!

I recorded myself on a VCR camera duplicating his swing. After that many friends i played with said i that i had best looking swing. Thank you Jack
Think about this - this might be the greatest - FU - in the history of sports. Miller calling out Nicklaus for building a funky green with seemingly no shot at getting the ball to the hole. Jack isn't going to be dogged or embarrassed on a course he designed - and proceeds to tap in from 102 feet. For it to happen at all is a miracle. To get it on video - in good definition - is priceless.

He really shows his confidence and proves why he is a winner. Other people I've met that are successful are the same way. They don't think geez, this is hard. They just say things like, "Why not? Just hit a good putt." Why can't you be successful?
To think this incredible moment was caught on camera and so can be enjoyed forever. Thanks, Jack.
This is genuinely one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen. Total confidence. So badass.

the best part is how totally casually he hits it. Like he puts maybe 3 seconds of thought into it and just hits it perfectly.
