Hello again Foxy! You're doing great, and seem to be learning a lot! Congrats on choosing to play the game instead of taking the unintended shortcut of accepting the money. Everything means so much more when you earn it yourself! To aid you along the way, here's some more tips: 1) When you choose a mission reward type, all the missions still show, but it changes what is displayed on each mission in the offered mission screen. Typically, under the name of each mission is a list of possible reward types (in symbols). Each one (except for the Donate $$ missions) has 3 reward types that can be a mixture of the following: Money, Reputation, Influence, Engineering Materials, or Cargo. When you pick a reward type, it hides every reward type that isn't the one selected, and expands the selected type to show how much of that reward you will receive. (You always gain a little reputation and a little money, but there is a significant difference in the amount.) 2) When you hover over a mission with the mouse, it will put a highlight bar over the mission giver at the top of the screen to tell you what minor faction you're working with. This can help you choose your missions. Or, as you did, you can click on the mission givers you want to work for and hide missions from factions you don't care about, but you might miss out on some experience by not seeing missions to the same places you're already going. 3) Good job on checking the Pioneer stores for equipment, especially in systems that don't have fleet carriers in them. You have a much higher likelihood of finding an upgraded piece in places that are not visited regularly. Also, going in just after weekly update, since that's when the stores are re-stocked. 4) Grade 3 is the highest you are going to find in a Pioneer store, but you should keep an eye on more than just the item level. Some suits can also come with pre-engineered upgrades. Some upgrades don't really help (like a larger magazine size on an exobiology suit) and if you find a better combination, be ready to swap out. 5) When you bought that suit, that cleared it from the store. Upgraded equipment is limited like that so we can't all just mob a place and have grade 3 across the board. 6) If you think the Keelback is a flying box, just wait 'till you see a Type-7! 7) Don't let anyone tell you that autodocking is bad. Yes, there is definitely some pride in doing the job yourself, but autodock (and especially autolaunch) allows you to multitask and plan your next move. You can also override the autodock/launch by throttling up and taking control at any time. 8) Don't forget that you can take mixed mission types. When you were picking up the "Boom Time Delivery" missions at around 9:00, there were also "Courier" missions right beside them that were going to the same destinations. Courier missions are like bonuses, because they take up no cargo room. (Yes, you caught it, but I already had this typed out, so I'm leaving it.) 9) Yes, the bigger the bar in the mission reward, the more you get of that item. 10) You can take up to 20 missions at a time. (I don't know if the On-Foot Missions and In-Ship missions share one limit or if they have separate limits) 11) Remlock is one of the On-Foot equipment manufacturers. 12) You got lucky when fighting those Pythons. If you plan to use the SLF (Ship Launched Fighter) then you really ought to consider hiring an NPC pilot to keep your main ship flying and fighting. When you launched, the first Python had already taken down your shields, leaving the ship a sitting duck. 13) You have to stop using the engine boost when trying to dock your SLF. It's nearly impossible to cut the speed of a boost, making maneuvering in tight quarters very difficult. 14) If you intend to keep battling NPC Pirates, and when you get into slightly larger ships and have the room, consider carrying a Collector Limpet Controller and a few Limpets. You can often scoop up engineering materials after a battle. It's also possible to scoop them up manually by opening the cargo hatch, targeting the material, and catch it using the holographic display that shows up. 15) When a pad is blocked by an NPC, you can target the offending ship and request docking. This will usually cause the NPC to scurry off the pad, making room for you. 16) Partial completion must be something added with Odyssey or one of the updates. I don't remember this being the case in Horizons. Nice to know! I believe hitting "Back" instead would have allowed you to go get more and complete the mission fully. 17) That is, indeed a great way to do trading as you go, but for bigger profits you need to calculate your route using an external resource (3rd party tool) like INARA. 18) Always double check your requirements! Almost everything in E:D has something else that is very similar. Items, Systems, etc. It can be very confusing. 19) Large stations ALWAYS rotate counterclockwise. If you hold your right hand out in a fist and align your fingers to point in the direction of the station's spin, your THUMB will be on the side of the station that has the mailslot (docking hanger). Thanks Foxy - you've gone and dragged me back into the game: spent this afternoon re-learning how to fly and fight; ground combat can wait for awhile :-) An easy tip for materials (you're going to want to do the engineering route at some point) is to target the materials dropped when your target is destroyed (you can use your cargo scoop although it's more efficient to use collector limpets). Generally these will be low grade materials (you can also scan frame wakes from ships leaving if you hang around a nsvigation beacon). Very low-level stuff but the earlier you start the more you will collect. You can trade the low grade for high grade materials. If you go into a combat zone with a good limpet collector and a load of limpets you can make out like a bandit! Fly safe Commander.
I love hearing you figuring out how the game works in real time as you play. We all did exactly the same in the past. The partial complete caught me out as well the first time.
If you are going to leave your main ship without a pilot you really should put 4 PIPs in systems. This will help the shields hold a bit longer. I would also suggest if this is your fighting style then hire an AI copilot so they can at least try to keep the main ship from being a sitting duck.
@FoxyloxyX also if you get an NPC crew make sure you hire them at Harmless! They take a % cut of all your earnings whether you fly with them or not but an Elite NPC can do some serious damage in a Beam Taipan!
That's cool that you realized so early that credits are no issue at all in ED and you can do literally any activity and still make profit. Some better ofc but this game not about rushing. Especially funny when people suddenly understand that best combat ships won't win fight for you if you cant pilot it well, which skill very hardly will come from exobiology and afk farms which most guides suggesting. BTW core mining actually very good practice for FA OFF skill. Little tip for fighter with lasers: you can pop heatsink before start shoting as lasers are very hot and dist hungry. So you can deal more dmg in short time, just make sure that you have target in your sight. Glad you enjoying the game, cmdr, o7.
One more thing: Once you get in good with a faction they will throw out 50 million credit source and return missions that you can stack and make hundreds of millions in just a few runs.
@@Foxyloxy.X That method is responsible for me funding my fleet carrier endeavor and now 24 ships -- including the "Big 3" (Corvette, Imp Cutter, and the Anaconda) LFT 1748 is the name. Nakamura Entertainment Complex is the game.
If you come across a grade 2/3 plasma shotgun (Manticore Intimidator) buy it right away, especially if it has a scope mod pre-installed. Plasma weapon shots only take either shields down or health that's why the sniper takes two shots to kill but the shotgun shoots multiple projectiles at once so it can one-shot enemies. The scope narrows the cone of where the bullets go so more are on target even at max distance. And if you add the 'greater range' mod later it instagibs up to 12 meters iirc, it's nuts and from your gameplay in the last clip I think you'll love the shotgun even without any mods.
16:51 don't boost that much. It really gives you a kick that you usually can't just stop. If you request docking, then allow the mothership to align itself and then gently (less than 100 m/s) fly into the docking bay.
Can't wait to see your reaction once you try stealth missions to steal something or disrupt production. Those are my favorites, I don't love being a serial killer even thought these are just ones and zeros. When you fail, and you will: join the club. We have cookies and t-shirts saying "I cloned level 3 and I all got was a trip to detention center" 😉
You can hire some NPCs to actually fly your ship (or one of your fighters) during fights (so your mothership doesn't sit like a duck). When I saw those pythons I really thought you are toasted. ;) Forgot about police - and you were pretty lucky. Also: people who give away money to new players are the worst scourge of this game. They ruin it for new players and that's the truth.
If a new player is given a ton of money and feels it's ruined things for them they have a couple of choices. One is to reset their save and start over, and the other is to buy a bunch of ship hulls or modules to use the money up and leave them all sitting on a station somewhere.
I've given new people money in plenty of games, but my policy is that you have to earn your first million first. At that point, you know how to make money and it's got some value to you, and a gift is nothing more than a shortcut past some of the grind. It's also normally a one time thing and I give enough to get a better ship, but not the best ship. (that you have to work for) There's some instances where it's not practical for someone to buy something expensive like turrets for multicrew in the early game where paying for a set doesn't really unbalance the game for them, it just unlockes multicrew.
17:14 if you have landing pad obstruckted then target the ship that's blocking it and then request docking. The ship will then immadietely launch, giving away his landing pad for you. Not many people know this trick, and it's pretty usefull
Foxy im loving the videos, your a player that just 'gets' the game. You are varying your gameplay which i think is essential to enjoying the gsme. Have you thought about doing some interactive live streams? Also have the complete elite collection even the rare archimedes gold edition. I could send you a video of it your viewers would im sure enjoy seeing it ❤
On the credits side, the grinding can become awful once you gun for the carrier (price starts at 4.5 billion, but you want at least 5.5 billion), but your stance is good. Don't worry, and take your time. About gear on Pioneer Supplies, every store has a unique stock. All of them carry all 3 suits, and the weapon stock is situational (some have all kinetics, some all thermals, some all plasmas). Because of this, if you see 3 suits available, they don't have premium stock on suits, and if the amount of weapon is more than the usual weapon stock, then they have premium weapons (always check weapons just to be sure). And when someone on the galaxy buys a premium stock, it's not available for anyone else. The forums have a thread called "The Great Pre-Upgraded Gear Sharing is Caring Thread" where people can note down where they found something of note for everyone else, but it gets taken fast. If you want, let me know in-game and I can contact you when I see anything of note and give you a ride to buy it. Good job as always CMDR o7
There’s a blue icon on the left side of the galaxy map screen, there you can see mission destinations to quickly target them. It targets the station as well so when you jump in it guides you all the way.
20:04 - Check Trading Routes on the galaxy map filters, you can do whole categories, or singular commodities, it will show you colour coded lines for each of those, the ticker the line, the bigger and more profitable the trade route. Also check import/export filters (diamond and triangle symbols - the bigger the symbol, the better the trade value).
Really liked the bit where you tried to kamikaze your fighter into the mothership, and you still got the combat bonds, brilliant, hopefuly you have hired a pleb to run the ship while you're out gallivanting.
There you go Foxy, welcome to the Good Guys... ;-) The Keelback is loads of fun, but put either a friend or a NPC into the fighter as your main ship will be a dead duck. As you increase in reputation so the rewards get higher.
Ya know, abuse of the boost button will not make you more money. When you're in a fighter, don't joust with a ship like the Python, get on his tail and sit there burning holes in his powerplant. He won't be able to lay a glove on you. Also, you should know that once you make "Elite" in any class you can get access to Shinrarta Dhezra and Jameson Memorial Station. You can buy _anything_ at Jameson. Any weapon, any suit, any module. Note: You do NOT have to do a mission all in one go. You can make several trips until you deliver enough for completion. Delivery missions usually give you a day, at least, to complete them. So, if it's a short haul of one or two jumps, don't be afraid of delivery missions with several times your ship's cargo capacity. Mining is a _blast_ , especially core mining. Check out a few videos to see what kind of build you need because it does matter. The Python is an excellent core miner, when properly equipped. You can make a lot mining. I made my secon _and_ third billion doing mining out by Colonia.
10:31 that's the pirate that was meant to destroy your ship, because of mission you had. You're lucky he didn't got you in supercruise, he could interdict you - and then you wouldn't stand a chance in stock keelback
The ship that jumped in, right here was a pirate who was going to interdict and attack you (see comms panel, top left). The fact that you got to the station means he jumped in after you and then gave up.
MAJOR LIFE IMPROVEMENT - In menus the right mouse button takes you back a screen! I played for a couple of hundred hours before I realised! I've just upgraded my GPU your 4K footage is making me question my decision to stick with 1440! What card do you have? You should learn to scoop the white bits up after a fight. Good stuff. Just learn to use your scoop or get a size 1 Collector limpet controller if you're low on space. You don't boost into the ship when retrieving!!!! Slowly.
oh i forgot . fed rank lvl 4 give you access to SOL systemif you care about that. also be carefull with money gift . i have a friend perma ban from elite because he got money to buy a fleet carrier. he didn pay for the money but it is word against elite dev.
Thank you. I do care about Sol, and I am saving that visit for a bit later, that will be my first milestone in Elite Dangerous, and I am excited to do so soon
@FoxyloxyX If you ditch the Supercruise assist you need hotkeys for 75% Throttle and 50% Throttle 75% you will never overshoot your target in supercruise as long as you activate 75% Throttle when your ETA is 6 seconds or above 50% will let you enter orbital cruise and drop into a glide safely as long as you are at 50% Throttle BEFORE you enter orbital cruise
Don't ditch supercruise assist in all cases though. Having an autopilot is useful sometimes. But if you're skilled enough, you can disengage supercruise assist and use the gravity wells of planets to slingshot you at high speed and evade pirates. If you've ever experienced being catapulted past a station that you're trying to arrive at that's the effect I'm talking about. In ED we call it the loop of shame, but you can use it to your advantage sometimes.
Here is an interesting thing about hauling: I wanted to haul cargo with my keelback but my storage capacity was around 60 tons because of the fighter hangar bay. When I implemented cargo containers into my ASP Explorer its cargo capacity became better, around 86 tons or something like that. Ok, I know the best ships for hauling is the type 9 or 10 but if you haven't any of them the A Explorer is good enough for that, as you can see.
I actually bought my AspX to deliver rare goods for the community goal for the Harold Duval Memorial Ceremony. The distances involved required a better jump range than the type-9 I would normally haul in, and my smaller ships did not have the cargo capacity. (And with rares, there is a limit on how much you can haul at a time anyway.) Now it is a fully decked out explorer and I live most of my in game life in the black.
You can hire pilot (and activate him/her each time you're in ship with fighter), so pilot will be using another one, if you jump in fighter then pilot will be attacking by the ship too. Takes money though. But once pilot is leveled till Elite rank, he / she can solo Anacondas, while you watch movies.
@@Foxyloxy.X I don't think it's what he suggested. You can hire a high level pilot right off the bat, but he's expensive and gets even more expensive as he's promoted. That's why people usually hire a harmless pilot that ranks up just like you. After a while you can train your NPC from harmless to elite - and he'll be charging you only 10% (when he's elite - harmless pilots cost only 2% of your income).
You clicked Show Reputation, but that doesn’t filter the list, it just hides the icons for rewards that aren’t reputation. You then picked a mission that didn’t have the Reputation symbol! You do get some rep anyway for all missions.
Ok so 2 things. 1 your courier strategy is very risky. Not only do you take on the pirates and fight, but you do it by leaving your mothership and the cargo unattended. Wow, you have balls of steel. It's fantastic man! Well done. 2. You can do a single courier mission over several trips. I'm not sure what went wrong in your case, but I've done large consignments in small ships and delivered a bit at a time. But Man, you are very entertaining and you've got a great personality. Well done.
I do have a question. I've played Star Citizen and one of the best things by far are the ship interiors. They give me the feeling of ownership of a proper space ship and a place of mobile habitation in outer space. When playing Elite Dangerous, do you miss the ship interiors?
And to answer your Star Citizen questions, yes I do wish I can check out the ship interiors in ED, but on the other hand, I also feel that it is unnecessary, when I fly the ship in ED, I feel one with the ship, and you experience it through 1st person experience. SC interior is awesome but SC gameplay can only do so much, we will see after a few years after that game releases.
@@Foxyloxy.X I wasn’t suggesting you change your play style. Do it your way. I think it's incredible how you play, you've got no fear. There's no way you're letting pirates push you around. It's really good to see. On tbe other hand, If I have valuable cargo and get interdicted by pirates. I put on my own chicken legs and run away... fast 🙂 Keep doing what you're doing CMDR. I love it 07 Also, I enjoyed Star Citizen but I can't cope with the server wipes and losing everything. So I've given up on it.
18:18 well... You're not. By clicking that partial complete you just bassically said to them "Hey, heres your cargo. I know i had promised to being it all, but i don't have a time for that. Can you give me a part of my reward, and i will just not bring the rest?"
On defending yourself, if you're going to use a fighter, a hired pilot is worth it then to pilot the mothership. That's what I meant by weighing the options up before ;)
The server tick at 8 a.m. UK time every Thursday will fill more pre-engineered suits and weapons in the Pioneer Supplies. Once it's been bought then you have to wait for more to be available. But there are thousands of stations to have a look around and you can find some excellent grade 3 weapons and suits with some pre-engineering already fitted if you fly around enough.
nice vid. Don't forget to check the missions on the terminal hubs in the stations as they have different on foot missions to what appears when in your ship.
24:04 it's completely possible to do this type of missions in more than one trip. There was a "back" button near the "partial complete" one. And i do believe that pressing Escape on your keyboard works aswell, tho i'm not 100% sure about that one
And thanks again for the video)) By the way, if you really like a fighter mechanic, I recommend trying to fly in a team or multicrew on one large ship in conflict zones. I would like to offer my main ship - Tempest Shadow (imperial cutter), for this test, I have both fighters and turrets. But unfortunately I'm too far away. But surely there are those who want and can help with this)
Upgraded suits and weapons at Pioneer are one offs. All Pioneer shops get refreshed on Thursday morning so might get more upgraded and pre-modded gear - but once the first CMDR buys it - it's gone.
It's not really worth killing the mission pirates, as usually there are more than two, three and sometimes more than four pirates ok one mission, and every fight taken is a risk of losing your ship. It's usually easier to just run from them and just do this mission and move on
Oh yeah, making credits is easy once you get the hang of it. I can make around 5-6 million credits in roughly 20 mins by running ground combat zones. Not the best way of earning credits, and it wont get you a fleet carrier, but it'll get you a lot if you're starting out.
I'm enjoying your videos. Should you want to make some real money fast, try exobiology. Basically scan planets and if they have flora on the surface, scan it and sell the data. Pretty lucrative and fun, too.
You needed to click back rather than partial complete. It would have allowed you to go back, get the rest and fully complete the mission for the full reward.
Actually, it's not. He did a right thing (in those particular circumstances). A fighter is harder to hit and those pythons were way more powerful than his keelback. But AI tends to attack a thing that attacks it, so by using a fighter he actually bought time for police to show up and save a day. If he stayed in his keelback, he'd be dead.
I am back in the game after a year, even thou i played it already to know mechanics its hard to get back to it. It is hard to learn a lot of things is not explained in game very well, i use youtube and wiki a lot. I love sound design and that there is an option to upgrade ship to be self sustained go explore and come back to civilization after years.
@@Foxyloxy.X i just did a mistake and with several pirate hunting mission took one with killing few faction pilots. God warrant, and failed with silent run when returning to station. Ive got killed and lost millions made by buying/selling day before. I hope this game will found new players and will rise on Frontier list of priorities.
@@Foxyloxy.X It's a long road that one so don't over focus on just that one thing. Elite is an amazing game, but if players choose to grind it, the shine can come off a bit. Keep having fun doing fed missions and eventually you'll get that rank. As you are doing - take every federal donate mission you see.
@@Foxyloxy.X haha. I have the feddy corvette, and still aiming for the imperial Cutter for the style points. But based on your like about the moving thrusters on the keelback, you might also like the Alliance Crusader. Built by Lakon and has fighter bay capability
It is a corkscrew that I learned in Star Citizen, I just want to try it out in ED, and it happens to be quite an effective tactics for me, against easier enemies.
0:28 Independent systems are... Independent. Literally. Even from each other. They aren't major faction, they are not connected with each other in any way. Also, what you've just said are names od the navy's od the powers. Like usnavy for the USA.
Good on you turning down the billion. Not much to spend that on anyways outside of ships, and -- if engineering isn't a priority they won't be worth much to you anyway.
1:05 just wanted to warn you. Remember what i've said about ASP scout? Yeah, the same can be applied to federal dropship. It's bassically useless, and federal assault ship is better than it in every way. Don't but it, its wasted money if you do
Understood, but I will try it out sometimes, since I want to try out every single ship in game to see which one fits me personally. But thanks for the advice
I've found a role for both the asp scout and the dropship, but as you say, they don't really do anything that another ship doesn't do better. The dropship was my first combat ship upgrade after the viper and I liked it a lot for quite a while - until I could afford better.
For low-level I recommend an outfitted and engineered Chieftain (or Challenger if you *must* have a fighter). At the high-levels a fully engineered and outfitted Corvette is a beast...
Most mining missions can be finished by buying resources in other stations, you can use Inara to find where to buy the resources, i find bertrandite to be the best missions (especially the 50M missions) also mining expansion missions are quite similar

Very very helpful tips not just for me but for other new players as well. Thx for taking the time to write them! o7
It's refreshing to see someone taking their time and enjoying the game. You'll still be playing this years from now.
It is a game worth playing for the long run
Well that was one way to 'dock' the fighter, perhaps not the best way, but it did work..... 😂
lol
I though he was trying to merge the ships into one. lol

Thanks for the heatsink tip, it is very useful
Have you visited a station inside an asteroid yet? They're really cool.
I have not yet, but looking forward to do that.
One more thing: Once you get in good with a faction they will throw out 50 million credit source and return missions that you can stack and make hundreds of millions in just a few runs.
that sounds very lucrative
@@Foxyloxy.X That method is responsible for me funding my fleet carrier endeavor and now 24 ships -- including the "Big 3" (Corvette, Imp Cutter, and the Anaconda)
LFT 1748 is the name. Nakamura Entertainment Complex is the game.
Also, love your attitude about making credits. It's relatively easy, and you can go at the pace you like since there's plenty of ways to make money.
100%
Trade is honestly my favorite way to make credits. Turn on some tunes and just start hauling. Very relaxing activity after a long day at work.
Couldn't agree more!
And if you add the 'greater range' mod later it instagibs up to 12 meters iirc, it's nuts and from your gameplay in the last clip I think you'll love the shotgun even without any mods.
got it, thx for the info on the guns. I have been shopping around and got grade 2 intimidator and a grade 3 executioner
Just remember when you are ready to start Engineering EIC is there for you
When a ship jumps in like that it was a pirate npc who was following you because of your cargo! Its quite funny sometimes!
We have cookies and t-shirts saying "I cloned level 3 and I all got was a trip to detention center" 😉
lol...that sound absolutely interesting, you will see it when I get to that part for sure
Good to know the NPC crew, yeah should have hired someone, and I was lucky, should have been destroyed.
(that you have to work for)
There's some instances where it's not practical for someone to buy something expensive like turrets for multicrew in the early game where paying for a set doesn't really unbalance the game for them, it just unlockes multicrew.
17:14 if you have landing pad obstruckted then target the ship that's blocking it and then request docking. The ship will then immadietely launch, giving away his landing pad for you.
Not many people know this trick, and it's pretty usefull
extremely useful, thx!
Foxy im loving the videos, your a player that just 'gets' the game. You are varying your gameplay which i think is essential to enjoying the gsme. Have you thought about doing some interactive live streams? Also have the complete elite collection even the rare archimedes gold edition. I could send you a video of it your viewers would im sure enjoy seeing it ❤
So i have the original bbc version right up to the beautiful elite dangerous backers edition
Thank you! I am setting up a studio trying to start some SC and ED streaming, probably later. And also I have no idea what are those gold edition is.
Thank you so much cmdr, I took a shuttle travel places to places, to shop for good gears, and found a bunch!
Great info, thx!
Really liked the bit where you tried to kamikaze your fighter into the mothership, and you still got the combat bonds, brilliant, hopefuly you have hired a pleb to run the ship while you're out gallivanting.
Partial completion is possible, when you reach a given threshold. It’s indicated by a vertical line in the progress bar.
I see, lucky day for me
The ship that jumped in, right here was a pirate who was going to interdict and attack you (see comms panel, top left). The fact that you got to the station means he jumped in after you and then gave up.
lol....glad I made it in in one piece, can't afford another attack
MAJOR LIFE IMPROVEMENT - In menus the right mouse button takes you back a screen! I played for a couple of hundred hours before I realised! I've just upgraded my GPU your 4K footage is making me question my decision to stick with 1440! What card do you have? You should learn to scoop the white bits up after a fight. Good stuff. Just learn to use your scoop or get a size 1 Collector limpet controller if you're low on space. You don't boost into the ship when retrieving!!!! Slowly.
This PC I am using a 3090 for recording. And thx for the tips.
@@Foxyloxy.X It took me a while to get over the menu realisation! No worries :) Glad you don't mind the tipping!
oh i forgot . fed rank lvl 4 give you access to SOL systemif you care about that.
also be carefull with money gift . i have a friend perma ban from elite because he got money to buy a fleet carrier. he didn pay for the money but it is word against elite dev.
Thank you. I do care about Sol, and I am saving that visit for a bit later, that will be my first milestone in Elite Dangerous, and I am excited to do so soon
Ditch the Supercruise assist, it slows you down making you very easy to interdict.
ok, it can also save one component slot as well.
Unless you want to be interdicted :D
@FoxyloxyX If you ditch the Supercruise assist you need hotkeys for 75% Throttle and 50% Throttle
75% you will never overshoot your target in supercruise as long as you activate 75% Throttle when your ETA is 6 seconds or above
50% will let you enter orbital cruise and drop into a glide safely as long as you are at 50% Throttle BEFORE you enter orbital cruise
I have not fully tried out the ASP Explore yet, but I hear a lot of good things about that ship.
@@Foxyloxy.XThe Python is a great hauler, since she can land on outposts.
I actually bought my AspX to deliver rare goods for the community goal for the Harold Duval Memorial Ceremony. The distances involved required a better jump range than the type-9 I would normally haul in, and my smaller ships did not have the cargo capacity. (And with rares, there is a limit on how much you can haul at a time anyway.)
Now it is a fully decked out explorer and I live most of my in game life in the black.
Your flight skills have improved a ton since your first video, very impressive work in the ship launched fighter!
Thanks a lot!
That is awesome, I might eventually invest in an elite npc pilot
@@Foxyloxy.X I don't think it's what he suggested. You can hire a high level pilot right off the bat, but he's expensive and gets even more expensive as he's promoted. That's why people usually hire a harmless pilot that ranks up just like you. After a while you can train your NPC from harmless to elite - and he'll be charging you only 10% (when he's elite - harmless pilots cost only 2% of your income).
Yep, clicking 'back' instead of 'partial complete' would have let you go and fetch more of the mission materials.
Yep, I learned.
You clicked Show Reputation, but that doesn’t filter the list, it just hides the icons for rewards that aren’t reputation. You then picked a mission that didn’t have the Reputation symbol!
You do get some rep anyway for all missions.
I too love my keelback.
Its my dumbest combat ship. It doesnt even have a real FSD, just a 1d thats been double stripped down.
lol...I start to develop fondness about this ship
Delivery and trade is done much more efficient with the Krait mk2, also with fighter bay but bigger capacity, faster and better jump range.
That is indeed my next video which is being edited at the moment
Thanks for the tips!
I put on my own chicken legs and run away... fast 🙂
Keep doing what you're doing CMDR. I love it 07
Also, I enjoyed Star Citizen but I can't cope with the server wipes and losing everything.
That's what I meant by weighing the options up before ;)
got it!
The server tick at 8 a.m. UK time every Thursday will fill more pre-engineered suits and weapons in the Pioneer Supplies. Once it's been bought then you have to wait for more to be available. But there are thousands of stations to have a look around and you can find some excellent grade 3 weapons and suits with some pre-engineering already fitted if you fly around enough.
awesome!
Never sell your Keelback it is a absolute sin! Just ask CMDR BOB!
Yes never sell that Keelback.
nice vid. Don't forget to check the missions on the terminal hubs in the stations as they have different on foot missions to what appears when in your ship.
Thanks for the tips!
24:04 it's completely possible to do this type of missions in more than one trip. There was a "back" button near the "partial complete" one. And i do believe that pressing Escape on your keyboard works aswell, tho i'm not 100% sure about that one
Yes I learned from doing it.
And thanks again for the video))
By the way, if you really like a fighter mechanic, I recommend trying to fly in a team or multicrew on one large ship in conflict zones.
I would like to offer my main ship - Tempest Shadow (imperial cutter), for this test, I have both fighters and turrets. But unfortunately I'm too far away. But surely there are those who want and can help with this)
Thank you so much cmdr. I will try to practice on my own first, as well as trying out the confict zones you mentioned
Upgraded suits and weapons at Pioneer are one offs. All Pioneer shops get refreshed on Thursday morning so might get more upgraded and pre-modded gear - but once the first CMDR buys it - it's gone.
The dominator suit with extra ammo mod was a must-buy!
If the fighter goes down, it won't 'kill' your CMDR. The fighter is a drone and you are remotely flying it from the mothership.
Thanks for these info
Only 1 CMDR can buy such a suit. It's unique. There is thread on forum where people share their findings.
got it.
this is the comment I was checking for o7
It's not really worth killing the mission pirates, as usually there are more than two, three and sometimes more than four pirates ok one mission, and every fight taken is a risk of losing your ship. It's usually easier to just run from them and just do this mission and move on
Go for Corvette, Cmdr!
that's the goal
Trade is so relaxing I do it in my t-9 heavy while listening to music
that is something I must do a lot.
@@Foxyloxy.X I use inara and trade for like 19 million to 32 million a trip but you need around 720 cargo space first for that
Oh yeah, making credits is easy once you get the hang of it. I can make around 5-6 million credits in roughly 20 mins by running ground combat zones. Not the best way of earning credits, and it wont get you a fleet carrier, but it'll get you a lot if you're starting out.
Indeed.
I swear, I'm going to disable that boost button. XD
7:28 they don't. Once someone buys it - it's gone.
Your videos play so smooth, which tool do you use to record your play?
Thx, I am using OBS studio to record
I'm enjoying your videos. Should you want to make some real money fast, try exobiology. Basically scan planets and if they have flora on the surface, scan it and sell the data. Pretty lucrative and fun, too.
Yes I'd love to see some exploring and exobiology. I shall be patient :)
Oh, forgot to mention: Artemis suit is best suited (ha!) for this task
Not sure he has the jump range available to him yet to make that endeavor worthwhile being everything in bubble-space has been scanned already.
I will most definitely try exobiology out for sure. All these gameplay in ED are really detailed and interesting.
@@Tamburello_1994 Good point - but at the rate he's going I imagine it won't be long :)
Pre engineered suits and weapons once bought are gone from the store, and is not available for others to buy.
Have you been to Sol yet, and if not are you going to?
Its awesome going to Sol for the first time in Elite.
I am saving that experience for later, but very soon I shall be on earth.
You needed to click back rather than partial complete. It would have allowed you to go back, get the rest and fully complete the mission for the full reward.
I learned
4:25 you had bought the ship. And did you outfitt it..? Or are you flying stock?
I did some light upgrades
Once someone buys an armor or weapon from a station, it's gone for all

You bought the suit, it won't be there for anyone else now. ;)
I got it now, if I spot more, I will post on the forum
11:59 you haven't picked up a crew. I'm that case it's always better to fight with mothership, if it's possible.
11:47 ...and he'd interdicted you
I am back in the game after a year, even thou i played it already to know mechanics its hard to get back to it. It is hard to learn a lot of things is not explained in game very well, i use youtube and wiki a lot.

Couldn't agree more. I also love the sound effect of almost every single ship, they are all unique and great! Welcome back cmdr
@@Foxyloxy.X i just did a mistake and with several pirate hunting mission took one with killing few faction pilots. God warrant, and failed with silent run when returning to station. Ive got killed and lost millions made by buying/selling day before.

8:14 yeah... Keelback is the only ship that can do that. Unfortunately
It looks like a Type 10 but smaller
You going for that corvette?
yes, my eyes are on an "imperial" corvette.
@@Foxyloxy.X It's a long road that one so don't over focus on just that one thing. Elite is an amazing game, but if players choose to grind it, the shine can come off a bit.

@@Foxyloxy.X haha. I have the feddy corvette, and still aiming for the imperial Cutter for the style points. But based on your like about the moving thrusters on the keelback, you might also like the Alliance Crusader. Built by Lakon and has fighter bay capability
12:27 don't roll like this. It's harder to aim that way, not a good tactic when you're using fixed weapons mounts
It is a corkscrew that I learned in Star Citizen, I just want to try it out in ED, and it happens to be quite an effective tactics for me, against easier enemies.
I think partial completion is still fine
0:28 Independent systems are... Independent. Literally. Even from each other. They aren't major faction, they are not connected with each other in any way.
Also, what you've just said are names od the navy's od the powers. Like usnavy for the USA.
right
Remlok make your basic flight suit you started with ;)
I see
Good on you turning down the billion. Not much to spend that on anyways outside of ships, and -- if engineering isn't a priority they won't be worth much to you anyway.
that is very true indeed, but the experience of working for the things you want is just awesome as in this game as it is in RL.
@@Foxyloxy.X Boldly go....

I kitted out a dropship for the new Matrix sites. 4 flak cannon to take out revenants, plus SRVs to land and collect materials.
For low-level I recommend an outfitted and engineered Chieftain (or Challenger if you *must* have a fighter). At the high-levels a fully engineered and outfitted Corvette is a beast...

Most mining missions can be finished by buying resources in other stations, you can use Inara to find where to buy the resources, i find bertrandite to be the best missions (especially the 50M missions) also mining expansion missions are quite similar
good to know.
