- CSX Office Car Special - Pittsburgh, PA. In this railfan video, I head down to the parking lot area at the entrance to Station Square right next to downtown Pittsburgh. I've filmed a few trains here before along the CSX Mon Line at what is called "The Holdout". This is a common spot for trains to have to stop so one with higher priority can pass. Such as the case with the Office Car Special. I happened to catch a train just as it began to get daylight and then another train approached and stopped right by us. The CSX OCS came by moments later. Footage of the actual train was short as I was unable to chase it in multiple areas due to having to go to work. Anyway, I liked the spot I caught it in and it set up for a nice photo. Enjoy!

What a catch! I have yet to see CSX' OCS in person myself. I worked in downtown Pittsburgh for a number of years, and took a walk each day at lunchtime. I saw many CSX trains but never their OCS.
The holdout is a good place to wait and watch. East of here the line goes down to single track because of the tunnel under the former J&L site, and the bridge over the Mon at Homestead.
Beautiful train that does not often run through Pittsburgh.

I remember everyone was talking about this train. Unfortunately I worked that morning and since I’m not far from the Pittsburgh Holdout, I heard the horn blowing.

That was most likely the same day I caught it. I filmed this back in August. Just took forever to get around to editing my footage. Lol

Rather than pulling freight, this train was pulling passenger cars with the executives and upper management of CSX.
