Hi - We plan to visit leh via flight in the first week of May. We plan to visit Leh - Shanti Stupa - Leh Palace - Magnetic Hill - Pathar Sahib Gurudwara - Hall of fame - Sangam Point - Disket - Hundar - Shayok - Durbuk - Pangong Tso - Chushul - Rezang La war memorial - Tsaga village - Loma bridge - Hanle - Nyoma - Chumathang - Leh What can we expect? Are there chances of rough weather conditions or landslides blocking our journey? Are the markets and all tourist spots open during this period?
Hi Medha.. well in May usually the weather is fine unless particularly day weather comes bad on your trip. Snowfall is not uncommon at passes but roads remain usually all open. Tourist season is beginning during those days and shops hotels start to open up in first week of May. Pangong Lake stay will be too cold so better stay at Tangtse.
I am planning a trip for Leh / Laddakh for 7nights/ 8days package Group tour by Thrillophilia in the month of June, 2023. I have seen your videos, what kind of preparedness required for June in terms of clothes. Secondly I am running 76 now. I have got clearance from my doctor for the trip. The tour starting from Leh and ending at Srinagar. Your piece of advice and suggestions would definitely boost my confidence.
I am really happy to know sir and you have a wonderful trip to Ladakh.. let me know if I can be of any help.. Also plz do watch my AMS video: ruclips.net/video/8XijLqr6O0Y/видео.html

Your videos are really informative, thank you for that! Is mid September a good time to drive down to Ladakh Via Srinagar and exit Via Manali for a family?
First of all, I love your blog and videos, you give very useful tips and very well explained. Me and my husband, we were planning a trip from Manali to Leh by car, we have to return back to our country the 2rd August. On July 18 we would arrive in Dharamasala, visit for 1 or 2 days and then take an overnight bus to Manali. From there, our plan was to rent a car without a driver, to go to Leh, stopping in different villages and enjoying the route (we do not drive motorcycles). However, as you indicate, this is not possible, but we would have to take a car with driver. My question was: first, if these dates would be suitable to go by car, or would there be much chance that because of the rains we could not pass by the road? in that case, would you recommend any other option? On the other hand, I wanted to ask if it is possible to go without a driver, and where we could rent that car? in case it is not possible, how could we organize the trip so that our driver could stop in different places? Thank you very much, we are looking forward to the trip.
thank you for liking my content. Well, as you are aware that you will have to rent a local taxi with driver who will drop you to Leh and then in Leh you need to again rent a local Leh taxi for further sightseeing in Ladakh. The dates you have chosen are around monsoon time and rains are very unpredicatble up there during that time. You will have to reach Leh before the rains hit the region and that is all weather dependented. Once in Ladakh, rains do not affect that much unless there is exception. Usually the problem begins end of July and August is a big NO usually from my side for road travel in the Himalayas. Self-drive rentals cars for Ladakh are much more headache than convenience due to taxi union rules. Better rent taxi only as suggested above and well the driver will stop anywhere you want because that will be your private taxi. Most of the drivers are very nice unless you go through some big travel companies who pay them for Point 1 to Point 2 only. So, better hire a local driver who acts as a guide and help you explore to fullest. It will be your taxi and you can ask them to stop anywhere and any number of times. You can even clear that up before booking. You can always get in touch with Leh based tour provider Ken +91 84510 57819, +91 866-9121640. Instagram: @unpluggedlife , Email: unpluggedlife.in@gmail.com If needed, you can refer my name to him and he shall do his best to offer best experience. A bit of a shy personality, but he will do whatever is possibly best to make your journey successful. hello dheeraj. very informative vlogs. I am planning to visit leh ladakh with my family including 6 year old in first week of June. I have few queries as we will be visiting for the first time. 1. is it safe to travel with 6 year old? 2. Current situation of passes (what and from where to get passes for entering) 3. iteniary for 10-12 days trip from delhi including stays you experienced. TIA
Hi @dheeraj First of all congratulations that you are doing such an amazing work in guiding everyone. So, we are planning a trip to ladhak in second week fo April by road. Please request your help in my below ask 1. Any idea when BRO opened the roads from Srinagar to leh in 2022 and 2021? 2. I wanted to see true colors of leh so is it safe to travel in month on April ? 3.Will it be a harsh condition to survive ?
Thank you bhai, well here are my replies: 1. Srinagar to Leh was opened pretty early last couple of years, in fact around early March. However due to contant landslides and snowfall afterwards the road was actually open for tourists sometime in April endish for the tourists. So Srinagar to Leh road trip in April is a 50:50 chance and all will depend on the luck. 2. True colors of Leh - Ladakh are in September or July IMHO 3. April usually is more like ending winter in Ladakh, lakes will be freezing and passes will have ample of snow. Conditions will be pretty cold more or less.
Hi Dheeraj sir, I along with my 2 friends are planning to visit Ladakh in August this year. We are starting our journey long way from Bagdogra airport. We have thought our iternary for Ladakh in below way. 14th August - Bagdogra to Delhi (Flight) 15th August - Delhi to Leh (Flight) (after that make body adaptable in the Leh climate and site seeing) 16th August - Site seeing in Leh 17th August - Nubra Valley 18th August - Pangong Lake 19th August - Hanle 20th August - Tso Morrie 21st August - Back to Leh 22nd August - Leh to Kargil (Bike ride) 23rd August - Kargil to Srinagar (Via Sonamarg) 24th August - Site seeing in Srinagar and dal lake 25th August - Srinagar to Bagdogra (Flight) Please provide your suggestion for our trip and also if any recommendation or change in iternary as per your experience. If any other measures are needed to be followed then please let us know that as well. I have also msged you on instagram
This seems OK to me, just ensure there are no rains predictions when you travel from Leh to Kargil to Srinagar...as lower hills in monsoon could be pretty bad after Kargil.
Can you make a detailed road conditions video.. (which part is still off road and which one is developed into tarmac this year.) Map reference would be great.
Hello. I am planning for a bike ride in Zanskar valley & Hanle-Umling-la this year. My question is do we need any Permit to travel to these destinations and if yes, what is the process of getting it?
Since 2021 end of season, Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following: 1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time 2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day 3. Red Cross Fee = Rs 50 one time but Optional, you don’t need to pay if you don’t want to. DO NOT confuse environment fee receipt with permit. You just need to carry this fee receipt, hard copy or soft copy. This receipt will be checked at various checkposts. Hence, people are confusing it with permit but this is just verification that you have paid the fees.
Hi dheeraj, Have planned from 1st may to 10th may will all the roads be open from leh-srinagar highway ? saw ur videos pretty more informational and exceptional

Hi We are planning to visit Ladakh in 3rd week of October by flight. Will it be safe and good to visit. Kindly advise. How much discount should i expect from 5 star hotel.
Dheeraj Bhai, such good videos - it was a great help in planning our visit last month. Just had one question - we visited Pangong and found the lake beautiful. However, we did see a lot of people taking pictures on the 'tongues' on the lake and very close to the water. Just a general query - any idea how deep the lake is at these places close to the shores? If it's very deep, then it would be a dangerous proposition - without any lifeguard on the shores, and hospitals quite far off!! For your thoughts.
Thanks a lot.. near the shores the water isn’t that deep and shallow because some moron people have driven cars inside the lake too and the tires werent even submerged.. So, I am assuming from it that water isn’t that deep near the shore but lakes can be always misleading and instead of gradual depth there could be a sudden abyss too…
Sachin bhai, aap Srinagar se jaaoge to most likely road open hona chahiye agar snowfall nahin hua is baar baad mein to.. but Manali Leh road shayad open na ho May mein.. sab weather par depend karega bhai..
Hello Sirji We are planning in the last week of June. ROUTE: Srinagar - Kargil - Leh - Turtuk - Nubra - Pangong - Hanle - Tso Moriri - Keylong - Manali Will leh to turtuk to Pangong cause issue with acclimatization? Or is it fine? Anything else you want us to consider on this circuit?

Hi sir first of all i love your videos It's very informative and interesting . I am from Bangalore and I am planning to visit leh this month, the places i have on my list are Leh town, Nubra valley, Tso moriri and puga. Is it possible to do this many places in 7 days. And i want to rent a bike to go to Nubra valley. I have watched your videos and have a rough idea about it but wanted your personal opinion on this.
Vismay, thank you so much. I just published the April 2023 update video, I will suggest you check it. Roads within Ladakh are open to visit above places but it will be cold especially for a bike ride unless you have already done such cold climate rides.
We 3 friends are planning to visit Laddakh next week for 4-5 days. What to expect like weather, connectivity, oxygen etc. Is it suitable? Please guide about Acclimatisation.

Hi sir. I have ample time at hand. I wanted to know how to cover and slowly absorb each and every corner of Ladakh. Would prefer to spend a night or two at individual places if required those corners. Can you guide me with an itinerary if I fly into Ladakh, early morning in mid september. I would like to know how many days I need both if I use public transport inside ladakh and/or if I hire a two wheeler. Hoping to get a reply soon
Yash bhai I will tell you the flow and you can add more nights to these places as you have time allowance Leh - couple nights of rest Leh - Sham Valley - Lamayuru Lamayuru - Leh Leh - Khardung - Diskit / Hunder in Nubra Visit Turtuk Nubra to Pangong or back to Leh and then Pangong after a day or next day Pangong to Leh Around Leh monastery tour Two day trip to Tso Moriri at least and then fly back For reference of above flow check this video BEST ITINERARY - Leh Ladakh by Flight | 2023 Ladakh Trip in 7 Days | Ladakh by Air | Dheeraj Sharma ruclips.net/video/3GVBLP9NYxw/видео.html
I want to plan my road trip to leh & Ladakh from 13th May'23. Need your suggestions for that. And also need to know that can I take my 2 years old niece to this trip.
It will still be cold, lakes may be partially frozen.. but by air you can travel and roads within ladakh will be open unless it snows during days of your visit.. you can check 2024 Leh Ladakh Winter Trip Itinerary | Ladakh Trip in January, February, March | Ladakh Winter Ride Plan: ruclips.net/video/mXtLsfPbSGs/видео.html
Thank you for the Information. This Helps a lot in planning. Going on a solo trip in september Mid to October first week on Bike. Will Umling la will be accessible at that time.
Planning arrival at Srinagar - Sonmarg (1N) - Kargil (1N)- Leh (2N)- Nubra & Hundar (2N) - Pangong (1N) - Leh (1N) - return by flight from Leh. Starting date 7th June 2024, till 15th June... Is this a good time?
Hello Barna, Well, your plan looks good to me. You are taking care of acclimatization, slowly and gradually traveling from Srinagar side and all this is positive. Timing wise as well in general June is season starting time so you are picking the right window there. One thing I will like to tell you is that early in the season Zojila Pass has timings, sometimes it is even odd day traffic rule for each direction. Example: Odd days traffic will be allowed from Kargil to Srinagar and even dates Srinagar to Kargil. Hence, stay tuned to the updates on this channel and make the bookings when you have clarity on this rule for upcoming season. This kind of rule early in the season can impact your bookings. I start publishing monthly update March/April time every first Sunday of the month where I keep giving these updates. Rest, plan wise your itinerarys look good and relaxed to me.
@@discoverwithdheeraj could you suggest an alternate plan whereby we can avoid overnight stay at Pangong and make it just a day visit, so that we can sleep at night in a lower altitude? Will be grateful for your suggestions.
You can always sleep at Tangtse to lower the altitude from Pangong Lake. It is about 35 km from Pangong and much warmer. Else you will need to go back to Leh from Nubra Valley and then can plan a day visit to Pangong Lake
Hey thank you for the video, it almost gave me the idea but I am planning to do a bike trip from Srinagar to Manali via Leh and I do want to enjoy the snow , which time should I prefer ? Thank you in advance 😄🙌
Well you need to plan early in the season and keep the plan flexible. May is when road starts to get open and become stable for travel to some extent. Manali Leh highway usually opens around first week of June or end of May. So first two weeks of June you will be able to enjoy snow at passes and lot of snow around Baralacha La pass on Manali leh highway
Yes in season time flight prices remain very high for Leh unfortunately.. but sometimes they come down to like 12000-15000. Sometimes flights to Leh are cheaper than flying out from Leh. So yoi can fly into Leh and come back via road
Carry layered clothing with warm layers and a woolen jacket.. lower hills will be hot to warm so carry some summer clothes too. Hence, layered clothing is essential.
Hello dheeraj, i am planning to visit leh in this april 2023, and actually want to cover sham valley(till lamayuru), nubra(till turtuk), pangong, hanle, tso moriri. So all the places will be open in mid-april correct? Also if you can provide me a rough itenary it will be very much helpful. Thanks
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Srinagar to Leh is open for one way traffic. Even Dates, traffic is allowed from Sonamarg/Srinagar side to Kargil and on odd dates traffic allowed from Kargil/Minamarg towards Sonamarg/Srinagar side. Traffic as of now is only allowed between 6.30 AM to 9.30 AM where first one hour is only for LMVs then later HMVs are also allowed now.
Many thanks for your such an informative video. I have a tata safari. I want to travel byl manali leh highway and return via srinagar. I know that option is not recommended by you. Acclimatization will be more difficult in this route. I want to know if i have spare time and travel slowly to enjoy the views, which are the places i can stay to acclimatize between manali & leh? Thanks once again.
That’s the problem, you can’t really travel slow on Manali Leh highway without beating the AMS principles.. so best cautious recommendation can be.. 1. Stay a night in Solang Valley not Manali 2. Stay a night in Jispa 3. Do Jispa to Leh direct then without sleeping in between.. Stay very well hydrated, drink plenty of fluids and do not exert your body
Hello sir, great video. Im planning to travel to leh in 2024 from odisha on bike. Will starting trip on 7 th sept cause us to see lot of rains ? I have kept 12-13 days for the circuit plus 5-6 days for travel to odisha. I need to be back preferably by 20 th September in odisha. I cannot travel in june first two weeks and dont really want to see too much snow or rain. Kindly help !
@@discoverwithdheeraj thank you! But I have some new work coming up. Will second week of June be ok? I'll be following your updates on the road situation of leh in your blog too !
Hi Dheeraj. Great videos. I am planning to visit Ladakh with family around 30 March. Can you tell me whether Tso Moriri is open this time and whether it is worth to visit especially after seeing pangong and in winter the animals may also be less. Please suggest
Hi Ashok, thanks.. Well, it will be winter like conditions so both the lakes will be frozen and very cold conditions will be there. Spending night at Tso Moriri at homestays will be challenging unless you are familiar to such conditions or have gone in such conditions with well preparedness. Routes mostly remain open.
@@discoverwithdheeraj Thanks for detailed suggestion. Also i have booked flight to leh from Jammu and taxi from pahalgam to jammu in night. Can you advise whether srinagar Jammu road travel will be possible by 26march as i saw about this road closures only recently.
Hi Saw most of your videos regarding Ladakh , as I am planning to visit this beautiful place . Can you suggest a travel agent to obtain the inner permit before we reach leh.
Pradeep bhai you do not need any travel agent as a domestic Indian tourist. You can apply for environment fee yourself online: Step-by-Step Guide: Pay Leh Ladakh Environment Fee Online | Apply Leh Ladakh Permits Online: ruclips.net/video/iYbOL49E_6k/видео.html
OK, then yes, you can talk to Ken +91 84510 57819, +91 866-9121640. Instagram: @unpluggedlife , Email: unpluggedlife.in@gmail.com He will be able to arrange the permit for you.
Well, as I said in the video above, if you are flying to Leh directly, it is OK to travel but it will get really cold during that time. Pangong Lake and Tso Moriri lake will be quite cold with stays limited to homestays in villages. Hence, go prepared well in case you plan to travel. Anyday you should not travel on Manali Leh Highway that late in the season.

Hi - We plan to visit leh via flight in the first week of May. We plan to visit Leh - Shanti Stupa - Leh Palace - Magnetic
Hill - Pathar Sahib Gurudwara - Hall of fame
- Sangam Point - Disket - Hundar - Shayok -
Durbuk - Pangong Tso - Chushul - Rezang
La war memorial - Tsaga village - Loma
bridge - Hanle - Nyoma - Chumathang - Leh
What can we expect?
You can even clear that up before booking.

hello dheeraj. very informative vlogs. TIA

Hi @dheeraj
First of all congratulations that you are doing such an amazing work in guiding everyone.
So, we are planning a trip to ladhak in second week fo April by road. Please request your help in my below ask
1. Any idea when BRO opened the roads from Srinagar to leh in 2022 and 2021?
2. I wanted to see true colors of leh so is it safe to travel in month on April ?
3.Will it be a harsh condition to survive ?
Thank you bhai, well here are my replies:
2. True colors of Leh - Ladakh are in September or July IMHO
3. April usually is more like ending winter in Ladakh, lakes will be freezing and passes will have ample of snow. Conditions will be pretty cold more or less.
Great information 🙌👏
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks WOW THAT'S AWESOME 🙃
Thanks for the support
Sir, sabse zyada greenery kab hogi?
Well, greenery k liye aapko July time mein jaana chahiye.

Hi Dheeraj sir, I along with my 2 friends are planning to visit Ladakh in August this year. We are starting our journey long way from Bagdogra airport. We have thought our iternary for Ladakh in below way.
14th August - Bagdogra to Delhi (Flight)
15th August - Delhi to Leh (Flight) (after that make body adaptable in the Leh climate and site seeing)
16th August - Site seeing in Leh
17th August - Nubra Valley
18th August - Pangong Lake
19th August - Hanle
20th August - Tso Morrie
21st August - Back to Leh
22nd August - Leh to Kargil (Bike ride)
23rd August - Kargil to Srinagar (Via Sonamarg)
24th August - Site seeing in Srinagar and dal lake
25th August - Srinagar to Bagdogra (Flight)
Please provide your suggestion for our trip and also if any recommendation or change in iternary as per your experience. If any other measures are needed to be followed then please let us know that as well. I have also msged you on instagram
This seems OK to me, just ensure there are no rains predictions when you travel from Leh to Kargil to Srinagar...as lower hills in monsoon could be pretty bad after Kargil.
Good info sir 🙏🏻 thank you ☺️
Thank you bhai
Hi Dheeraj, what kind of clothes are recommended to take for the bike trip in the month of August? Please suggest. Thanks

Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic
Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following:
1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time
2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day
Good

Will it be safe and good to visit.

Glad you think so and it was helpful

Vismay, thank you so much. I just published the April 2023 update video, I will suggest you check it. Roads within Ladakh are open to visit above places but it will be cold especially for a bike ride unless you have already done such cold climate rides.

Leh - couple nights of rest
Leh - Sham Valley - Lamayuru
Lamayuru - Leh
Leh - Khardung - Diskit / Hunder in Nubra
Visit Turtuk
Nubra to Pangong or back to Leh and then Pangong after a day or next day

@@discoverwithdheeraj thank you so much for your detailed message. Really appreciate.
@@discoverwithdheeraj thank you.

Sir the flight prices are a lot in early May. Shows 20k from Delhi .. is this normal or will the price come down?
Yes in season time flight prices remain very high for Leh unfortunately.. but sometimes they come down to like 12000-15000. Sometimes flights to Leh are cheaper than flying out from Leh. So yoi can fly into Leh and come back via road
finally we are going leh, ladakh on 24 September to 1 October . what kind of cloths we should carry and what precaution to take?
Carry layered clothing with warm layers and a woolen jacket.. lower hills will be hot to warm so carry some summer clothes too. Hence, layered clothing is essential.
Hello dheeraj, i am planning to visit leh in this april 2023, and actually want to cover sham valley(till lamayuru), nubra(till turtuk), pangong, hanle, tso moriri. So all the places will be open in mid-april correct? Also if you can provide me a rough itenary it will be very much helpful. Thanks
Hello Harsh, I will say since it will be more like winter only, plz check this video: ruclips.net/video/mXtLsfPbSGs/видео.html
Hello sir we planning for February, can we go in this month in car…??
No the roads will be closed to Ladakh so only way is to fly to Leh
Hello, Is it safe to travel in bike in sept ?? Any issues of black ice in sept??
Sir, this year(2023), when will Srinagar to Leh Highway open for public?
Subject to fair weather and good road condition,
Srinagar to Leh is open for one way traffic.
1. Stay a night in Solang Valley not Manali
2. Stay a night in Jispa
3. Do Jispa to Leh direct then without sleeping in between..
Stay very well hydrated, drink plenty of fluids and do not exert your body

Hello Sir, I am planning a Leh ladak trip by 20 th October to25 October is it a good time to visit
