Great video showing this job. I do want to point out that you keep referring to spark plug wires. Those are the coil packs. Also for the future. To clean that filter just use compressed air. You can clean with dawn dish soap, just be sure to completely dry out before installing.
Awesome video my friend! I’m consider myself fairly mechanically inclined, however that was in depth, especially when you went back and pointed out just the hoses. Lol. Looking good buddy, glad it’s a recognizable improvement!
Pretty similar process to the xsr900. Crazy how the set of injectors are on top. I wish i can see better on how to get to the second set of injectors. (After removing velocity stacks) looks like im going to have to do this to our r1. i also wonder if its possible to sync the throttle bodies on this bike like you can with the xsr? I did that recently along with the plugs and injectors. one of the throttle bodies was like 2 degrees off. After fixing that made a huge difference! Huge power wheelies 1st 2nd and lifts a tiny bit in 3rd (might be suspension unloading) not sure definitely feels like it. If you have any video on how to get to 2nd set of injectors id love to see it! R1 has intermittent low power in 1st and feels like its not running on all cylinders. Valves recently done with plugs and filter.
I have a 23 also. I sent my ecu to Moore mafia. On their RUclips channel they have step by step video to show how it’s done. The flash is phenomenal btw
You are running the bike extremely lean on modded exhaust and intake. Do not do any of this without a tune or you WILL run your bike lean and cause damage. These bikes are all lean as it is from factory causing them to run a little on the hotter side stock.
Wrong. I live at 4200 ft elevation so it runs richer up this high. Also I have an ecu flash long time ago. As well as a wideband AFR guage to keep an eye on it all. Bike has been running strong for 4 years, lots of miles.
I ran a full exhaust without a tune for over a year. That being said why not just send it to Moore mafia for a cheap flash and get all that extra power for a couple hundred bucks ?
@badass1g Thanks for the response. I already talk to Chris and plan to send it out after the holiday mail rush but my air filter arrives tomorrow and that's why I was wondering if it's safe to run it until then?
@@reno_r1_it is not safe to run any mods changing anything on intake or exhaust without a tune or you'll run the bike lean and they're already on the leaner side.

For anyone out there who wants to know, an xtra thin wall 14mm spark plug socket is needed to reach your spark plugs, ordinary sockets won’t cut it .
What year model R1 do you ahve. Apparently my 2023 R1 ECU can t be sent off liek the previous versions did.
2020. Are you sure? Last I heard the 20-23 are easily flashable now. Call Moore mafia to be sure

Ive just did this on my 2016, but now the dash fuel light is flashing and she wont start?
Prob forgot to plug something back in
What size Allen wrench did you use to take the velocity stacks off
I can’t recall I think it was 5 or 6 mm. Did I not say in the video? It has to be long and skinny.
@@badass1g lol i ended up buying a set
Can I just loosen the side plastics and do it like that. Like an r6
Hello,Is it safe to remove the air filter restriction on a 2020 r1 without a tune??

Service Manual recommends replacing the air filter every 24k miles
