  • This device is awesome for quickly getting internet access anywhere there is cell service (works with all carriers). This is much more capable then a hotspot since it is capable of going outdoors permanently, has long range signal, leverages ethernet for quick connection and even has several useful features such as band locking, carrier selection, DMZ, port forwarding, QoS, etc.
    Purchase it here: amzn.to/3AXW3SG
    Use Voucher code NATESUM10 to get 10% off!!!! Valid til 10/16/2022
    This Elsys Amplimax is ideal for camping, rural homes/agriculture, RV or anywhere you need a strong cell based internet service. Setup and very quick and simple. You need to purchase a data plan from a carrier of your choice and insert the sim card then you're good to go! Many companies offer a "tablet plan" and that is probably idea for this device, just check the terms and conditions for how much data/throttling they may have. Works with Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, Sprint, etc carriers. Cellular bands like B2/B4/B5/B12/B13/B14/B66/B71.
    Additional items you may want to buy:
    Pole mount: amzn.to/3B2SZFa
    Cell phone USB-C to ethernet adaptor: amzn.to/3AZ1Qrb
    T-mobile unlimited data plan $30/mo: amzn.to/4cHlryx
    Mint Mobile cell plan (as low as $15/mo): amzn.to/3usxzPi
    Cricket Wireless plan: amzn.to/3F3aNSJ

    • @NaterTater

      Strong antenna to pick up signal. But this isnt 5G capable so will depend on your location. Best thing about this is it can be used with almost any carrier and has more software features than the t-mobile gateway for sure.

    I just bought the Elsys with an At&T tablet plan and have the fastest speeds I've had out here in the woods! That is to say, 15 upload and 2 download, but it beats < 5 we were getting over DSL and pings in the 1000s over satellite internet. Nate- do you have any tips with changing the settings to help with a VPN and video calls? My ping is around 100 now so much better but still could be improved. Thanks for all your videos!

      VPN typically add latency so you could try to not use VPN for some things. You can mess with MTU setting too, AT&T default is 1430 I think.

    Great Video Nate. My wife and I have a location in Vermont that gets very little signal. Investigated MOFI. That led me to investigate INSTY which also has the router in the antenna. This is so much more reasonable. Add a router and you've got INSTY at a quarter of the cost. while the quality may differ, it's a good beginning trial. Vermont winters are tuff so it may not last more than a couple of years. I do have a question for you. You mentioned that the TTL (time to live), could be changed. I did not see the TTL in the software you showed. Do you have a workaround, or did I just miss it in your video?
    You remind us of "Lieutenant Dan"! Your voice is very similar and even resemble him. We must not be the first to mention that.
    Regards,
    Jon and Sandy

    • @NaterTater

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  2 года назад

      I did not but there is no point. What works best will 100% depend on your local tower and cellular bands available. Upstairs showed best for me but not everyone, up is presumed better but that is not always true depending on things like interference.

  • @Molanding

    Great video, I have a question for you as well. I too purchased one of these but having issues with the bandwidth. I did not see you did not compare using the T-Mobile Phone speed connected to LTE vs the ELSYS connection. The reason I mention this is that I'm almost losing 40-50% of bandwidth using the device which is not that good. If you can test your T-Mobile phone direct to a tower and not WIFI and compare it too the ELSYS that would be awesome to know. Thank you.

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  2 года назад

      Speed will depend on what cellular band and sim priority you have. Otherwise should be the same.

    • @Molanding
      @Molanding 2 года назад

      @@NaterTater Thanks for the reply. I understand but none of the bands this device are comparable to the actual phone or Hotspot devices. Just saying you lose quite a bit of bandwidth while using it.

    Love all your videos..!! I live 5 miles from my nearest T Mobile cell tower in a 5G area. My cell phone signal strength is 1-2 bars mainly 4G LTE. Can you recommend a antenna to go with the unit to receive a stronger signal…!!??

    • @NaterTater

      @@AfreakenK understood but the unit is designed as an outside antenna already so I would typically not recommend an additional one. Hello Nat, my wife and I just got the Elsys Amplimax and a Amplifi Alien router which we got a AT&T data only plan and after everything was hooked up there was no service detected by the Alien router! The Elsys screen said AT&T was on but no service! Can you give us any feedback to help?

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  2 года назад +1

      Try hooking a computer directly to thr Amplimax with an ethernet cable and verify internet on your computer. If that works its just settings, if no internet still then log into the amplimax via web browser like i show in this video and verify sim is active and working (call att to ensure its activated, you may have to give them the IMEI of your amplimax). Lastly you may have to adjust the TTL on the amplimax settings to work with the att network. Lastly you would want to have the amplimax in passthru/bridge mode to let your alien router do all the routing/firewall.
