That intro killed me. x_x
Thank you 🙏 Channeled my inner Steve… not Jobs… but Ballmer.
@@GregsGadgets ballmer...(what a jerk!!!) :)
Infomercial from 1996, nice lol
@Computer Clan, how's the lair, the guards giving you to much trouble?
Definitely the best intro I’ve seen in a while!
Thank you 🙏
Great 1970s used car intro! I wish I had a use for an iMac, I love the design! Those I know who have them, love them as it was exactly what they were looking for in a home computer.
Except it's not a used car intro, it's a parody of the 1986 Steve Ballmer's Windows 1.0 commercial.
Great video! We ended up buying several iMacs for our family last year, and every single one of us has been absolutely thrilled with them.
Apple just nailed it with this computer. It’s not perfect for every use case out there, but it sure covers our needs.
And it’s gorgeous. I love my purple iMac. 💜
watched this after placing an order on a pink iMac. I did make it to the end.
you are very lovable, Greg. and we appreciate your reviews a lot.
your energy is delightful.
Thanks for the reassurance on my purchase!!
Thank you & well wishes x
I bought my purple iMac because of ur video on it last year………………I love this thing!!!!!!!! Almost a year later and still beautiful
Loving the production values Greg lol. I really love the M1 iMac and I just wish it could output to 2 external displays instead of just one.
Greg u made me buy my first Mac, an MacBook Pro 13 and I absolutely love it! Now I want an IMac as well …I really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work! Thanks
THE INTRO! 🤣 I am loving these edits! Keep up the great work Greg! 🙏🏻😄
Thank you 🙏
Omg that intro was brilliant 😂😂😂😂
You get better and better, Greg! Love the Steve Ballmer energy in the intro!
As someone who produces music in Logic Pro X and uses big sample libraries, I was hanging out for a bigger iMac at first with the ability to have a lot more RAM than 16GB. I almost pulled the trigger on a Mac Studio and Studio Display until I visited an Apple store and saw it in person.. and then walked over to the iMac 24 and played around with Logic on it. I instantly loved the iMac and I have not regretted it at all. Despite worrying about just 16GB, this has not been an issue at all and with a spec’d out 2TB 16GB version of the iMac M1, having my sample libraries on the main SSD is incredibly quick. Compared to my 2012 iMac 27 i7 this machine is more than powerful enough for my needs. Most of all I do love the form factor and design, it just sparks more joy than the industrial looking Studio and Studio Display… and saved me a fortune! :-)
Thanks for sharing. My experience with the M1 iMac has been outstanding. Blessings on your day!
Wow. Lots of work put into this video. Funny, entertaining, and freshly informative.
Hey Greg! I have a quick question, could you use an external 34" monitor using the type c from the iMac?
I wondered why the funny looking jacket in the thumbnail. Now it makes sense and it is awesome! Very well done; I found it hilarious.
Thanks so much for posting this! It’s time for me to upgrade my iMac and I was wondering if a year later you still felt it was a good machine. It doesn’t seem as if Apple is going to upgrade the processor this year, so I’m leaning towards getting this as my new iMac. Sounds like you are very happy with its overall performance! 👍🏼
I'm almost ready to update from 2011 iMac 21.5. Should I wait a little longer or go for the refurb for $230 off ?
That intro was really cool 🤣
I'm pretty happy with the screen size of my 2017 iMac. No way I am going to downsize. Rather than give us a new 27 inch iMac, Apple wants to sell us a monitor that costs as much as the old iMac.
Spot on , a lot of people i suspect feel the same way , if you already have a 27” monitor on either your PC or old mac , going down to 24 inch is a no go.
@@mikldude9376 thats intel this is M1
At 0:54 you broke into an impressive accidental Morty impression (from Rick and Morty). Anyone else hear that? lol
As usual, I appreciate your wacky creativity. :)
The introduction is legendary, liked immediately
Thank you for this review I was struggling between if I would need SD or the Imac
Do you think the Studio display could be converted into a computer?
I've been waiting two years for a 27" M1 imac. guess that's never coming. :(
Same
I feel your pain. Ho-hum!
Great! That was a great retro intro! How did you get the video to look like that?
I have a 14 inch macbook m1 pro, can i use the iMac as an additional display???
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Thank You for keeping us updated in such an entertaining way!!!!!
Hahaha YAZ! Amazing intro gotta love it ❤️ I’m enjoying my M1 16gb and the dual fans were definitely worth the upgraded. This was the best purchase in a while and compared to the Mac Studio display, it’s a way better bargain
Your vids are miles ahead of the other tech channels, keep it up!
Your vintage presenter is excellent. You took me right back to the '80s. Well done!
I haven't owned a desktop for such a long time would it be worth buying the 24 iMac now? Or wait for a new 24 iMac? I feel this will be good for a long time without major changes
Great video and totally true. I was holding off for the 27 but really wanted the pink/red version. It’s the only M1 product I see as a truly new design (not a redesign or going back to similar to an old design like M1 14/16). Even though I have M1 mini linked it 49 inch display and MBP14 I grabbed the M1 iMac after the studio launch as a family computer and I absolutely love it. 24 inch screen is ok for most things split application and it just looks 🔥 on a standing desk. It’s my favourite mac since the MBA 11 and my iMac 2012.
Is it better to get
This now or wait for the urban legend 27 inch “pro Mac”?
Great video! Would be curious to see what your thoughts are on a comparison between the iMac and the M1 Mac Mini.
I just bought the base model 24” iMac in blue. Love the design and speed of it.
Timely video, been trying to figure out if I can live with the 24inch (23.5) screen. I love the idea of the all-in-one. Think I'll give it a try as I am not editing video, just writting, ton of web surfing, and a bit of light gaming.
Just bring the screen closer. 24” and 27” aren’t that different. Yes I have both.
We love our iMac 24. Utterly amazing family computer and the M1 chip is still amazing and easily enough for all business work and kids needs. It’s utterly brilliant
Is it possible to connect the display to another computer, like a MacBook or a Mac mini? This is important, because if it can it means the machine will still have value in future years when the processor is legacy. Thanks
Even if I don’t care about the subject I still watch because I always enjoy the lighthearted humor and insight. Great as always Greg and thanks for the laugh!
Any advice. iMac $2,300 model or Mac mini with a used $900 Mac display? 🧐 thank you
Worth a thumbs up for the intro alone. Solid opinions, too.
Any ideas Greg when the M1 iMac will get an update ?
Thanks so much, ...did wait soooo long for someone to compare the studio display against the iMac's display.... :-)
Could you make the first deep panel comparison between the two?
how did i ever miss this amazing review? this has a better opener than SNL
Q is it possible to connect this IMAC 24 inch M1 to the Mac Studio and use it as a display and use the power etc from the Studio ? why then next time on holidays going to the USA buying it there !
Nerdy and yet charming. Not sure why I continue to like your videos so much. But I do. Cheers Mate.
Thank you, for this fun and enjoyable video. I came to Apple desktop computers in 1996, with the All-in-One 5400 system (stereo speakers, headphone jack, 15-inch Sony CRT, CD-ROM, floopy drive, internal Apple video capture card, internal Apple TV/FM radio card, keyboard, and mouse). While, most people suggest new users to Apple computers buy a "mac mini". However, I have always suggested starting with an All-in-One system from Apple to get the best experience. Today, that would be the new colorful 24-inch iMac (smile...smile).
Do a video telling you how you did this opening
I bought my 2013 27"iMac re-furb, 256 gb ssd, 8gb RAM, about 9 yrs ago, use it everyday, all day, just streaming, email, no gaming; yet. Works perfect. But preparing for supply shortages/hyperinflation I've already ordered a 27 Studio Display (I stream movies etc from my most comfortable position - recline).
I'm still deciding which MacMini to buy. Everyone says "wait for M2 mini" but I don't think an extra display, nor photog/music tech use is in my wheel house; before, after... never.
The display will not arrive before early June... should I wait? Or just get the 8gbRam/512ssd M1mini now?
the opening to this video brings back so many memories lmao, i love it
Crazy Eddie is practically GIVING IT ALL AWAY!!!
Well done Sir.
Subscribed 👍
That’s crazy. I remember him crazy Eddie, born and raised in Long Island New York back in the day that guy dropping prices that were “insane “unbelievable funny well done well done
Still don’t know why studio display doesn’t come with iMac style transformer ? Could be big if they need more power ? Special network pluck build in!
Great vid and valuable insights! @9:38 😄
Will 24 iMac come with m2 & m2 pro in the future?
Best Intro ever! 😂😂😂 you made my day 🎉
thanks , nice real life experiences videos, keep more coming
I still wonder if the Studio Display was original supposed to be an iMac but they scrapped it last minute. It would be nice to get a 27” option for the consumer level iMac for those who want a little more screen. Right now, it does feel like the days of the original iMac where it was the consumer level option and the Power Mac tower was aimed towards people who needed more.
I am really liking this new iMac Just got it 2 days ago. I ge the external power supply is on the outside, but look at the good side. If it goes out for whatever reason anyone can replace it. Plus, getting the one with the 10gig Ethernet port is pretty sweet the way that works. Never seen any computer company ever do that before.
Great video, Greg! (you always make me giggle) I am debating on buying an old 2020 iMac as my 2013 iMac is on the way to its death. I saw some of your older videos when this machine came out and wanted to see something more current and there you were!! My computer lasted a long time (with an extra year of having a new hard drive). I will definitely buy the new 24" one instead. (who can only pick one color!!?)Can you tell me how long the are estimated to last?
is it a new iMac? lol
Best intro ever. Made me smile. Thank you for that:)
I love your video production in this video! Keep it up!😀
I have a 17" laptop right now so moving up to a 23.5" higher resolution screen would be a nice upgrade for me. I'm retired now so I don't really need a laptop and I can always use my smartphone when I travel. The M1 chip is very powerful. I would probably have to get an external device for ports like a full size card reader for my camera. I use that a lot and also type A port for my older flash drives. I also have a 2TB external drive for backups. Other than that the iMac looks pretty good and at an affordable price!
And the award for the best intro goes to-
For real, the intro is nucking futs, and made me smile hahaha
Glad you enjoyed it lol
I loved this computer and I got the base model and it never slows down. I also just got a iPad Air 5 gen and it they fit perfectly together. I was going to get Mac Pro but its cost too much so I use my iPad as my computer since I have the magic keyboard and Apple Pencil. I’m trying to get into making NFTs, and starting my photography channel. If a new MacBook Air come out ill think about getting it.
I wish they would of made a 27" version of the iMac24" with 10 core cpu and 14 core at min GPU, then I would of bought one instead of 2020iMac 27" 5700xt. Even this iMac is not a true 27" display, more like 26.5 or 26.75"
That intro! Best ever 🔥
I have the green one, 4 ports, 16Gb or Ram et 1TB since the launch and I’m so happy with it. Best computer i had in my life ^^
Apple shot its sales in the foot only offering it with the 24 inch screen , many people have been using 27 inch or better sized screens on either platform and see 24 inch as going backwards.
I would have bought one myself except for the small screen which was too small , i liked everything else about i though .
Intro was amazing
I like the 24 but I just really want more display space. I was sad they didn't make a 27inch.
The intro took me back to the late 80s, I miss that style of commercial
I am just waiting for the Spec bump to the M2 since that should be coming relatively soon & I am buying it. I think I am getting the Purple one. I know that 24" will be a great screen size for me. My current but super old Monitor for my outdated windows computer is 19". Of course, this means that I am hoping that the recent rumors of a 15" M2 Macbook Air in 2023 are true, because going from 24" to 13" is a big loss, but 24" down to 15" is more bearable in my opinion. Loved the Intro to this one Greg, you could be a salesman. Your energy reminded me of the old oxy-clean commercials with the now-deceased beared guy (I forget his name) & how he said in those commercials enthusiastically: "But Wait, there's MORE!"
Greg was imitating Steve Ballmer’s commercial, former Microsoft CEO, who is bald (not bearded, that’s Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak) and he is certainly not dead 😄. Here is the original commercial

Anyone running InDesign, illustrator, Photoshop, how well does it compare to the 27" Intel?
I bought my first iMac M1 last year and I am totally satisfied with it! I did upgrade the memory to 16GB and the storage to 1TB. This computer works perfectly for what I need.
You mean picking that 16G/1TB option ?
@@thanatosor Yes I did.
Dude that intro was amazing
I usually hate comedy intros. But I have to say… this was so cool 🤣🤣
That 90s style commercial at the beginning 😂
I’m ok with the colors but I hate the white bezels.. I bought it and returned it it was not for me. Wish they gave a gray option with black bezel
Awesome intro - loved it
Wow, is it the studio? Loving the New GREG. Keep it up.
Thank you appreciate it 🙏
Awesome intro! Well done my friend.
That intro was brilliant!
Thanks!
I love my 24 inch M1 iMac. Fast, blue, great camera, and now I think a better deal with the 4.5k screen all for the price of a studio monitor
I’ve never wanted to visit Newark until now.
Everything is still in 360P there.
That intro. 😂
When I heard how good after effects would be with m1 I did some shopping to see what's available. Why are the ram amounts so pathetic? I won't open AE on a computer with less than 128gb.
the mac studio does not require an apple made display, there are lots of very affordable alternatives, which makes the studio a great option
I need to get a desktop but I do not like the white border, huge chin, and the color options. I do editing and photo editing so having other distractions with colors makes that job harder. I think I’ll go for the MacBook Pro 16. Just wish they’d remove the black island bezel.
Awesome intro Greg! lol!
Hysterical. Would you say 24” is too small for video ad photo editing?
I wasn’t able to take the smaller screen size and white bezels & was waiting for the revamped 27” but that hadn’t manifested. I was going to go with the M1 studio with the studio display but didn’t love that the display didn’t really update much of the technology so I ended up going with the MBP 16.
It seems like that they just took the display from the old 27” iMac and maybe improved it a little & just took out the computer.
Hilarious intro. Captured the essence of late night commercials perfectly.
I bought both lol. Connected then together so the 27 is main and iMac side monitor
Awww thanks Greg, we love you too. Lol… i loved the 24” imac from the get go. But my problem is I’m trying to still figure out (and afford) a new and my first MacBook…ive got my ipad 9, my iPhone 12, my apple watch, AirPods Pro. Not to mention had to get my daughter an iphone and airpods tablet as well… I really would love to have either a 14” MacBook pro m1 base model plus an external display and or a m2/m1 air and a 24” iMac… but alas I can’t afford any at the moment…hopefully soon but we’ll see… especially the way everything has literally like doubled in price…gas, food, rent, living in general lol… anyways great stuff as always keep it up and keep keeping us entertained. Thanks 😊 👍🏻👋
I have right now 43" windows screen. I have also macbook m1 and tbh I will buy maybe a new "big" iMac if they will make it some day .. 24" to small in my opinion. Sadly many people saying about new 27" ... better will be if they will do 30 or 32"
Waited and waited for the new 32” iMac all in one, with choice of Pro, Max, or Ultra M1 chip and some decent ports, like on the Studio. Didn’t get it. Bought an M1 Air for my lap, and plugged a 50” 4K TV into the HDMI port on my 10 year old MaxBook Pro for a big screen “desktop”. Saved a couple thousand dollar$ that Apple could have scored, but didn’t. Nobody waits forever.
Thanks for this
The Studio Display is, basically, a 27” iMac less the computer. If Apple wanted this could perfectly be the larger iMac version that lots of people want - it even has space, I believe, for an internal power supply, Ethernet and extra ports (just like the recently retired 27” Intel iMac).
Duh
Um now I prefer an external power supply after experiencing an M1 iMac. It's a big win for PSU replacements (in case the PSU got bricked) rather than tinkering an iMac with that pesky internal (uncaged and exposed) PSU in prior iMacs that Apple discourages everyone to open their iMac units (and a stark reminder for me how Apple absolutely hated third party repair.)
