And visually appealing. So smooth. So sexy. All with amazing untouchable talent. One can study and copy per note his music and style. But.. Will never touch or come close to his essence and quality. His interpretation of the music. He is a singularity never to come again. We are lucky to have had this man. Unreachable. Untouchable.
He's so free and open in this song. There's a feeling of peace here. It's just like he has finally become comfortable with everything about himself and possibly has made peace with the painful wounds of his past. Beautiful.
About his mother. Love seeing this side of him thinking back on growing up & his feelings after she passed. I heard he had a concert at Paisley I think the day or next after & came downstairs to make a few comments, went back up & came back soon after then played "I feel like a motherless child". Not a dry eye in the house. They were always very close while he/his dad were too, but on/off. His dad passed in 2001 I believe & his mother 2002. Prince was a very sensitive soul.💜
Prince has one of the most mesmerizing vocal tones and styles i have ever heard, even after his long career i think his vocal ability was criminally underrated!!
@jameslatta6813 Are you kidding. People have started underrating his singing voice like crazy on social media. there are literally people who say he wasn't really a singer. He had a warm vibrant falsetto and sexy purr of a low tenor/baritone, great almost-Jazz inflected phrasing and rocky rasp. Great chameleon, but his chest voice in tenor wasn't as strong as MJ's in their commercial primes so folks are always diminishing his singing because of this. It is fvcking annoying. Not critics thankfully but a lot of know-it-alls online.
When he sang the word “love” he quickly looked at her and when he sang about “going out” he connected with her eyes again. Like all close friends they connected on a deeper level and anticipated the connection

They probably have not played together in a minute. But bcuz they worked together so much in the past,it probably didn't take long to get the timing right.
Dang, now I'm crying. I do not know when I will be able to listen and watch Prince again without overwhelming sadness and tears. So many songs that outline my life. My life. Now he is gone but still here, right here inside my thoughts and heart. I walk and go through the soundtrack. I smile and cry as I move within it. Breathe.... Vast songs, inspirations, melodies, expectation and joy. Didn't think I'd be in a world without a physical Prince. Breathe... I think this mental and emotional Prince is meant to see me through the end of it though. Inhale.... Thanks Prince. I'm crying now as this song plays again and again in my head. I'll smile later to another tune. Exhale....
same here... cannot hold my tears back... miss him... the one and only... so much feelings in this performance... i feel love and sadness, both at one time...
Prince is and was one of a kind! Singer, songwriter, musician, producer, musical behemoth, performer, movie actor and innovator! Thanks Prince! We'll never forget you......😎
I really hope Prince fans around the world will be able to enjoy his work on RUclips, we're going to need all the help we can get over the next couple of days dealing with his passing. RIP Prince
She’s really the only one out of all his co-guitarists who didn’t sort of fade into the background or just blend in with the scenery. Her playing was really essential to the band. Maybe even more than was Dickerson’s.
Not really. She was ok. Prince worked with plenty of players that were much better than her. But In the 80’s she was hot and played a lot of sets in her underwear.
One of my favorites off of the Musicology album. Once I saw this live performance it made me love the song even more. It made me look back at every loss in my life. Prince's entire discography has been the soundtrack to my life. There will never be another artist like this man.
Idk if anyone else can see what I'm seeing, but here he looks so youthful & reminds'me of his look in his Lets Pretend We're Married video minus the makeup. He's really Beautiful! The way Wendy looks at him is lovely. You can feel the love for him as a real friend/mentor/brother. PRINCELUV4EVER!!!😚😙😍
this is my favorite song by Prince. Its so raw and stripped down but natural and beautiful. I love you Prince and I will always cherish your musical genius and mu sical legacy....Please send me a rainbow!
PURPLE MAJESTY lives on. Never replicated. Never duplicated. Never gone. He gave us His majestic essence. It remains in all his music. That written for others and that which has yet to be plublished. Prince. gave us a true Prince library. For all-time. Prince.
I know it's only 3 minutes of Prince but this is one of my favorites. As so many have already commented regarding this piece, he was so at peace and sweet and vulnerable and soulful. A look into his soul.
@@danlamont2884 likewise Dan. I always thought this song was a secret that only I & a few other sensitive artists/fans could appreciate but "it's nice to know" there are so many more.
Thank you so much...sorry I am sitting here with tears...I remember my belated husband and I was living in MPLS. We sat on the porch of our apartment and watch the sunset on a cold evening. This song reminded me of that day. Thank you so very much.
That's a beautiful song, just the guitar and his voice ~ so natural, AND, he wasn't wearing any makeup (still gorgeous!). I love that it was just himself and Wendy here!!!
He wearing some make up. That is Prince. So what. He could have just crawled out of bed with crusty eyes drool stained cheeks mussed hair and it would be great because I'm here for what's coming from inside. His musical soul. So what about make up changes that?
This brings us a powerful feeling of love and peace that we may live it this day and always...Look at them together....The words to this heartfelt song...the bond between them....What peace!!! Never fill this empty place we feel with our Purple Angel gone. What a terrible time Wendy must be having of this tremendous void!! All my love!!
I have always had the feeling that he respected Wendy in a different way. She could stand up to him and he knew she was a force on her own...and here they are playing together.

This was so beautiful! I miss Prince and Michael. Two of the best artists ever, each with their own style but such talent that we will probably never see again! RIP to both of you!
Je ne connaissais pas cette prestation. Juste magnifique. Je le suis depuis 1992 mais il a encore réussi à me "surprendre" très agréablement. C'est ça Prince pour moi. Il me manque terriblement.

I love this song from Musicology CD. It brings back memories doing my time of posters on the wall and sitting out on the porch watching cars go by on a summer day. It was beautiful to see Prince and Wendy playing this song together. Thank you for sharing JTaub. 💜💜💕💕🤗🤗🎶🎶

Wendy looks at him with so much love and awe. She loved and respected her big brother soo much. Bless her and the whole Revolution for their loss.
+ashpar21 I noticed she kept looking at him.. it was as if she was waiting for his approval.
I agree.
+Seven Lives Seems to me she was looking at him thinking wow he is still such an amazing artist after all these years. Even more amazing than before.
You follow the leader. Simply.
@Jack Azz Even his technician, Susan Rogers watched him closely as he played.

One of the smoothest sounding songs I’ve ever heard
They are damn near a perfect reflection of one another as far as their playing styles are concerned.

I think part of his reason for keeping himself mysterious was to have the knowledge of the man keep us in awe for years. He was so special
He was the most beautiful thing that music has ever known. 🐐
