Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Ramblin Bob!
Appreciate y'all keeping us scribers up to date.
I'm on a very tight and limited disability budget, but I have saved up enough to where I got a Pecron e1500lfp and an Oupes Mega 1 within the past year or so.
Instead of those expensive expansion batteries, I was thinking about using a 24 volt 100ah or two 12 volt 100ah in parallel or series...
Just trying to figure out which would be best.
Have you ever attempted that?
As detailed as y'all are, I'd LOVE to get your insight.
I figure I could get about the same extra amp hours for less than half the dollars of a bigger unit.
Thanks for everything!
Luvs from Virginia!
Be safe all.🙏
That is something that we wanted to do as well. but never tried yet.
We do not think that it will work like you think it will.
We you try to add normal batteries of server rack batteries to this system. It will not be a part of the system, it will be a battery bank ATTACHED to the system.
So you would be power dumping back and forth for charging and discharging.
You will void the warranty for sure if you try to hook them up through the expansion ports, you would have to just use a charger from the power station to charge the battery, and then use a charger or something to get the power back from the batteries...because it will not be one big system.
Watch Jasonoind's video to see what I mean with doing this.....
ruclips.net/video/tK4JKmfndh8/видео.html
P.S. We have been trying to find a way to do this, but with a 30,000wh to 100,000wh server rack system. that would be the bees knees right there :)
Thanks for the reply!
I could always charge the extra battery (batteries) with solar, gas/propane generator, the Pecron 500 car charger, or a 20 amp charger.
What am I missing?
As ALWAYS...Thank you!
Damn, I wish I could talk to you!! Lol
My wife is trying to get me to learn how to live stream...
P.S. Not ready for that just yet....LOL
Yea I picked up a E1500 LFP FOR $540 during the October sales. I’m Liking the E1000LFP
I wonder which Friday there talking about on the delivery of the 3600
Not sure :(
A cheaper expansion battery for almost any pecron power station, and most other brands. Buy the pecron 1242-500 car charger and 12.8 volt lipo4 battery. It will charge the power station from any lifepo4 12.8 volt 100ah or higher at up to 500 watts. Also 4 such batterie in series can do so at 48 volts wired in series, without the pecron converter. Using the pecron 1242-500 will result in efficiency losses...about 80 percent efficiency. Even using 24 volt series setup can supply up to about 350+ watts of charging power. This vastly extends the capacity, as long as the load is less than the input. I hesitate to buy the mansion batteries due to the possibility of the mail power station possibly being discontinued and then if my e1500 lfp is unavailable the expansion battery becomes useless.
We do agree with external battery power as a source as a good idea. however....something that you forgot is....
1. The ep3000 battery is used for all the new power stations, so it will always be useful when you just buy a updated system. (works on e1000lfp, 1500lfp, 2400lfp, e3600lfp, etc) we can hot swap our batteries to any of these power stations and keep the party going at anytime.
2. Th eb3000 & ep3000 batteries are stand alone system in itself, you can use them as a power station without a head unit ;) They have many outputs on the battery itself, and oyu can add a small ac inverter through the cig port.
NOTE: So they will never become "USELESS" since they can be used by themselves as a power station ;)
P.S. We would love to have a huge 100,000wh server rack system and use the idea of the 500 watt car charger to power dump :)
@@RamblinBobReviews Yeah, useless might be too strong of word. I actually have the 1500lfp coming, but at about a 1000 bucks for an add on battery that only works with pecron power stations...nope! For a few hundred less, I can do 4 12.8 volt 100ah batteries wired in series and have over 5000wh external batteries. That will also be versatile and work with my Bluetti, AllPowers, and earlier versions of Pecrons I already have. Considering the fact the external batteries do not have inverters built in, IMHO they are over priced. That is true with all brands that are considered expandable.
@@sarge1231 They do have a DC inverter built in, but not AC inverter.
Pecron has the lowest prices per watt hour for any company out there right now for portable power station battery expansions.
And at $899 for 3,072wh is only 29 cents per watt hour (and at 85-93% efficient battery capacity is what we are getting with these depending on the load or system)
As I said, external batteries are a great idea, and agree with you 100%.
But you should really look into server rack system to do this. -----> waaaaay better option !!!!!
Apx $900 for 5,120wh @ 48v rack battery (18 cents per watt hour) right now and only going lower....
Hey Bob, love the videos - keep them coming. Question for you, I'm trying to decide between the Pecron E3600LFP and the Oupes Mega 3 for my Class C motorhome. The Oupes is cheaper but the Pecron has a better footprint to fit in the space where I would put it. I'm also planning to get an expansion battery for whichever one I decide to use. Which one would you choose?
Maybe you made typo.....or maybe you made a mistake?
Did you mean that the pecron e3600lfp is much cheaper than the oupes mega 3???
Because it is MUCH cheaper.....
Base system price: (3,000wh)
Pecron e3600lfp = $1,499
Oupes mega 3 = $1,999
*That is $500 cheaper than the oupes mega 3 right now.
Base system with 1 battery: (6,000wh)
Pecron e3600lfp = $2,398
Oupes mega 3 = $3,023
*That is $625 cheaper than the oupes mega 3 right now.
Now for the whole system of each....(15,000wh)
Pecron e3600lfp = $5,095
Oupes mega 3 = $8,143
*That is $3,048 cheaper than the oupes mega 3 right now.
@@RamblinBobReviews The Black Friday sales - the Mega 3 will be $1,234, $1,850 with a B2 battery and the Pecron will be $2,278 with the E3600 and an EP3000 battery, but that's also and extra 1000wh over the Mega combo (5120 vs 6120 for the Pecron) so the Mega will be ~$400 cheaper with the extra battery and all the discounts and coupons factored in.
Wow, you are right.
I was looking at the normal page when I got those numbers....GOOD CATCH !!!!!
This is where you saw that, correct?
oupes.com/pages/2024-black-friday
(Forgot about those coupons)
Wow, that really makes a difference then.
@@RamblinBobReviews With the price difference, which one would you go with - Pecron being more expensive but with an extra 1000Wh or the Mega 3 at the cheaper cost? Is the Pecron worth the extra $300 - $400? I know you're really high on the Pecron.
We have the the e3600lfp (15,000wh) system and the Oupes Mega 2 (no batteries yet)
We do like both of them, we use the oupes for outdoor events and it has pulled through just fine.
They both have special cables for charging AC and we don't really care for that, because if you grab the wrong cable, you can not charge either one. But they have been solid performers for us.
The app needs work on both systems.
Boy o boy, that is a toss up :)
Thank you soo much for the video ❤!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Just helping the scriber family stay on top of the sales :)
I just can’t buy any more Pecron. Yes they’re super cheap but the quality control and customer service is absolutely horrible. My E3600 won’t charge and both my E300s have bad inverters. I’ll just pay a little more and get something that works.
Wow, what happened to your e3600lfp, that thing is a beast, we really like ours :(
P.S. We have tons of pecron's stuff still running with no problem.
e3600lfp & 4 batteries
e2000lfp & 2 batteries
e1500lfp
e600lfp
e500lfp
e300lfp
500 watt car charger
2 x pv300 solar panels
pv100 solar panel
That is 16 pieces for us and every still runs fine and we have them all on the channel.
And we see many positive reviews coming into the channel here. it really must be hit or miss.
@@RamblinBobReviews are the reviews humans or bots? The 3600 is just what I need, so thanks for this video
Have no idea, but we like our e3600lfp. It has been running 24-7-since the day we posted our first video for it.
