I stopped going to bigger comic shows because in today's market they are not only a waste of time but by the time you get in you've spent enough money to buy a killer book for the collection. The DD #1 is my favorite of the video.

I’m getting ready to go to my local one in a few weeks and I’ve been saving all my nickel and dimes just to attend. It’s exciting, but makes me sad to think of how much money I’ll be spending just to have a day or two of fun.
I have many of these as well, I need an FF #18 to complete my Kirby FF run from 15 to 101. But as you say the costs have gotten crazy and I don't know anyone to do some trading with. I live in rural Montana, so I don't have the opportunity to go to many comic cons, but they do look like money drainers. I have mixed feelings about the price of silver age books, as that is what I have and collected as a boy, but it is hard to fill gaps reasonably now that I am an old man!

One option is to go for a reprint of that issue, but I guess it would feel more authentic to have a complete original run.
