I love Tadpole's new enclosure, it is lovely and so thoughtful for his issues of this missing tail. That 300 gallon tub is so pretty with all the plants and I love the log separate levels to aid his mobility. You both are so thoughtful and kind even to the shiner fish. I am so excited to see him grow and develop his relationship with Chris and Gabby. Welcome Tadpole to the most fab existence in captivity ever. You hit the jackpot. We all did too, getting to see and be a part of this incredible sanctuary.

Idk where you’re sourcing your crickets, but jsyk, Josh’s Frogs is a great place to source affordable/safe crickets and feeder roaches for your reptiles! I know pet store crickets often carry parasites.
My apologies if you already knew that. Just thought I’d throw it out there.
I love the enclosure set up. He’s gonna be so happy there.
Speaking of reptiles I’d love a reptile room update video. We haven’t seen TickTok in a while.

I love baby tadpole already❤ But also I understand why you don't like doing live feedings but your emus would also enjoy a little pool with some shiners in it. I know this because I am a big fan of Ima Survivor Sanctuary and the got a small kiddie pool and a few shiners and their ostriches loved it. Also their son as well as their nephew each have an emu and the both of them tried that experiment too and the emus had a ball getting in the pool to not only cool down but to snag a couple small fish too.

What a freaking Gator Penthouse you've made for Tadpole! Man.... wouldn't it be funny to hear all the gossip in the Gatorville?!😅 ( you have to use Beavis and Butt head's voices)
Friend #1Hey Ralph!! ! Did you hear about Chuckie? ( that was Tadpole's name before he came to Gator Heaven)..He got his tail bit off by Butch( the gator bully) and the Angels from Gator Heaven flew down and picked him up and flew him to Gator Heaven! Man you should have seen 'em. This one Angel was like 100 feet tall!! That was the man Angel. The Lady Angel was so pretty and get claws were painted bright red! I wonder why? Maybe she dangles them in the water to catch her food. They do kinda look like lil red worms...
#2: "Dude!! That's awesome! Do ya think if we can get Butch to bite our tails off they'd come get us? It's all over the Hood how AWESOME Gator fHeaven is. You get your own house....
Friend #1: I heard the angels make the water disappear as soon as it starts to look green and awesome, it goes down this hole at the bottom and fill it back up with the clear stuff again.
Friebd # 2: Who cares what color the water is!!. They bring you room service EVERY DAY!! Sometimes that Big Angel comes around wuthering ask kindsof goodies! He brings this little skinny tree and sticks it in your face. He says a word..AND THEN YOU GET MORE FREE FOOD!!! IT'S AWESOME!!! I'm talkin' bout the Primo grub man!! Chickens ALREADY PLUCKED!! No feathers get stuck in your teeth you don't even have to catch'em! It's so rad!!
Friend #1: I don't know man.. Butch would probably wanna go too but he's too healthy! They won't take him. Ya gotta be real fucked up like Fred and Barney! I''ll give up a front leg...I don't know if i wanna lose my tail! It's so cool looking and i can already swim SO FAST!! I'm out-swim lotsa bullies and those jerks in the floaty thingv with that loud water spinner thing in back! They're bad dudes. They got Janet's dad and now he's a purse! I don't wanna be a purse! I wanna go to Gator Heaven..HEYY!!!! BUUUUTCH!!! COME'ERE BRO!!❤
    And Scene 😚

🎉🤣😂🤣😅 I loved how you were trying to be optimistic about Tadpol's tail! Yeah.. Gabby said it, I thought it! He's without a doubt, one of the cutest lil Gators I've ever seen....she's /he's a lucky lil gator to have landed in the Greatest Rescue in Earth. Did Chandler see it? I figured since they are kindred spirits and all, they should meet. Being a member of the "Nub Club" is very prestigious!😅...I love your Name Game Gabby. You come up with some DOOSIES! Yes Ma'am. Is your piggy's name spelled "Amy Swinehause "?( well.. that's the German version) or Swinhouse? Either or... it's spectacular!❤.

I am so jealous right now. I'd love some of that hyacinth for my container garden, but nooooo, a bunch of idiots had to drop it into the waterways. All the box stores can sell all sorts of category 1s for ground gardens, but hyacinth? Nah, go wade in the swamp and hope you don't get eaten for some. 🙄

  • @toscadonna

Maybe people were feeding him because they felt sorry for him due to the loss of his tail? Maybe that’s how he became a “nuisance?” I think MBD comes from not consuming the entire animal completely raw, never frozen, and never cooked. Freezing and cooking denatures proteins and enzymes, and not getting organs and bones makes formation of their organs and bone harder. A good study in this phenomenon is called, “Pottenger’s Cats Experiment.” You can see what looks an awful lot like MBD in the cats in Dr. Pottenger’s experiments.

Here in Australia, we often see our native magpie chicks with metabolic bone disease because humans feed the magpie parents things like raw red meats (mince) when the birds come to their back gardens -- which the parents will regurgitate to feed their babies, and it isn't good for them. Then, the babies end up in the vets and have to be put to sleep... I think your theory is very sound!

How about a 3d printed tail for this alligator? Could probably design one with multiple interlocking parts etc to make it give same motion as normal. This would be cheap and re-printable to different sizes
Could even just add another inter locking part each time it grows slowly making a tail grow basically

Would be interesting to see if you can keep feeding lil buddy a somewhat more natural diet and maybe in a couple years we can see if he has less MBD? MAybe not the most scientific with a sample size of 1 but would be interesting to see if a more natural diet when they're small has a positive impact of MBD in small captive raised gators.
