At 12:26 in your previous reaction, you mentioned how Bariston and Jorah gave Daenarys opposing council on how to build the army. In this episode, we see she took the advice of both of them.
Everytime I watch GoT reactions I always realize how Lena Headey absolutely owned this role. Also you might need a mod to scour through these comments before u read them because holy shit people don't have common sense with the spoilers.
Locke's men were going to violate Brienne first. They probably would have killed her afterwards. In the books when she tells Jaimie about the real reason why Sapphire Island received it's name, Jaime said do you want to say that a little louder? I don't think they heard you..
This is the absolute pinnacle of TV, the way Missandei’s head snaps at Daenerys addressing the unsullied in Valyrian, the look Jorah and Barristan exchange when the spears start thumping.
@@bill.godwin-austen The guy who created the valyrian language, also created different accents. She says "iSKos" and not "iksos", which is the accent of the Valyrian spoken in slavers bay, while "iksos" is the high Valyrian pronounciation. Emilia Clarke actually just got the line wrong, but it fits really well, that she speaks the slavers accent in this scene.
@@jakobm.4183 Cool! That's a fascinating detail that I hadn't noticed before. I think I've read somewhere that GRRM mentioned in an interview that Dany and Viserys tended to speak Valyrian with an odd accent (I believe it was Myrish) due to having spent most of their lives in exile in the various free cities.
Great outro, all comments right on the mark. Love how the writers play with our opinions and get us to question ourselves and our motives for liking or hating the characters.
i don't know why but i love varys's story of the sorcerer. and franklyi have always loved that form of revenge, slow not immediate. and i think my favourite quote from warhammer 40k is a good example of why i love it. For one hundred years I stood my watch amidst the sombre shadows of the Sanctum Imperialis. I was still as a statue, but always ready, always attuned to dangers unseen. Days, months, years passed by in a frenzied blur beyond those walls, yet within, little moved and nothing changed. For one hundred years I did naught but wait, yet had any threat appeared, I would have struck it down in a heartbeat. For one hundred years I stood my watch, and as it ends I can tell you this - patience is a weapon.
I really love Sansa's story. More so in the books than in the show, but some of what I love is still present in the show at this point. Sansa was a very naive, idealistic and romantic young girl, who had the scales ripped violently from her eyes. She's surrounded by adults who had the scales ripped off as well; Cersei, the Hound and Petyr Baelish. Cersei, when she was a little girl, thought she would marry Rhaegar Targaryen, but that never got to be. She married Robert after the rebellion, and initially had hopes; those where quickly crushes by Robert. The Hound had his face burned for playing with his brother's toy; a wooden knight. It was swept under the rock to protect Gregor, and Gregor was knighted by Rhaegar Targaryen. Petyr fell in love with Catelyn, or the idea of marrying her, and fought for her hand against Brandon Stark; and lost. He was the underdog from a minor House fighting for his lady love against the man she was made to marry, but he neither won the fight, nor had her love. Cersei, despite becoming queen, never seems to get what she wants from being a queen, what she feels is owed. Sandor Clegane becomes the monster he says all knights truly are, hired killers. Petyr Baelish becomes a whoremonger who never finds love, and cares only for rising up the social ladder to "be somebody". They all try to influence Sansa, as if provoked by the ghost of who they used to be, used to believe in. But Sansa resists. In the books, when Cersei says to make people fear you more than they fear your enemy, Sansa says "yes your Grace", but thinks that "if I'm ever Queen, I'll make them love me". She tells Sandor that Gregor "was no True Knight", upholding the idealised knighthood. Petyr tells her she's a bad liar, but Sansa consistently has people underestimate her. They think she's just a stupid girl, but just look how she saved Ser Dontos by encouraging Joffrey to make him a fool rather than kill him. She was never trained like Margaery, she grew up sheltered in Winterfell with honourable Ned for a father; yet she manages to not just survive, but even save someone else. Sansa's story is in part about resisting cynicism; about not going blind when the scales are ripped from your eyes.
As many have said, that final scene with Daenerys is one of my favorites. There is of course the aspect with her demonstrating an amazing poker face and keeping her cool (like a good leader should) while being able to understand all the horrible things the disrespectful master is saying to and about her, with that language reveal at the end being the climax for this whole situation. But then there's the other part of this I really love which is that she pretty much did take the advice from both Jorah and Barristan, but she synthesized all of that advice into her own new solution that essentially was the best of both worlds and had stunningly good results. There was plenty to like about Daenerys up until this point (most of it for me being about sheer force of will, passion, and making the best of a bad situation), but this sequence really solidified my belief in her potential to be a good leader.
Technically Theon didn't order Dagmer to kill the orphans. Dagmer told him the idea and told him to send everyone else back to Winterfell. Theon just didn't tell him not to do it because he wanted to save face.
Awesome reaction Lipps...❤❤😊 This Episode is one of my favorites.😊 I think between Joffrey and Margaery, Joffrey is the one that is the bigger showoff talking like he absolutely knows for sure what happened to the Targaryen destiny WTH....but Margaery like you said is definitely a Master Manipulator. What happened to Craster's 99 sons? Well we already know he puts them out in the snow and "something" maybe a White Walker took it? Indeed The Mother of Dragons...the music during those last few scenes are classic.❤❤ FUN Recall: remember Ned appointed Beric Dondarrion to take 100 men in S1 Ep 6 to arrest The Mountain for burning the Villages, women and children in Riverlands and cutting off the head of a second horse. Ned also summons Tywin to King's Landing to hold him accountable for his bannermen... A great example how the writers ❤ to circle back on previous information. One of the best aspect of this Series is the dialogne. Enjoy the next few Episodes they are definitely a Rollercoaster Ride.
@@CoryGasaway it might be, if my man wasn’t strapped onto the cross five seconds later. Clearly things are not looking up for Theon from this episode already.
Seeing Sansa as weak is a mistake. If the story had continued without war, as is usually the case in (human) history, and if the prince had been somewhat normal (which is also usually the case), Sansa's worldview would have been superior to Arya's, and Arya would have been crying all the time because her worldview wouldn't have worked out. Arya is just as naive as Sansa, but in different ways. Arya grows up with naive ideas of becoming a warrior and would have had to realize that she has no chance against 95% of men. Girls can defeat boys, but most women have no chance against most men. There was also no birth control pill in the Middle Ages, so she would likely have become a mother, whether she was in a stable family or not. Sansa was much better prepared for this world.
