Passion projects are among the best life pursuits. Also appears likely the unusual Toyota or Lexus problems will be sent to AMD that even the dealerships can't figure out, but dedicated owners don't want to get rid of their vehicles over.
There is something about this restoration that I love. It's not about money. It's not about practicality. It's about appreciation of engineering quality. Quality that isn't common. Thank you for doing this.
As soon as you see a guy buy a roll of butyl tape to meticulously replace the inner door plastic sheet, you should know you're watching something special 😂 I'm serious , this is true dedication to the art of repair and restoration
Anybody who says that this car isn't worth rebuilding shouldn't probably be watching this kind of video anyways. That car is absolutely gorgeous You're doing awesome job and I love watching all your videos. You're a great mechanic. Keep up the great work!
*Ahmed, thank you for again emphasizing a weak battery inflicts unneeded electrical stress on an alternator. Congratulations on One Million+ subscriptions. Every one of them is hard-earned and well deserved. Love your long-form tutorials. Cheers!*
AMD, You need a MILLION mile Lexus to match your subscriber count though I 'fear' you will add subscribers faster than you can add miles.🥳🥳 Your eloquent response to comments 1:29:41 was 'perfection'. It won't stop doubters doubting and scoffers scoffing but it will make PERFECT sense to your million+ loyal subscribers. And that is all that matters. 😉
Man, I am glad that you are happy doing this and doing this for yourself and us. Those people will not understand your reason for why you do this because they can NOT see past their own opinions. Passion for cars and doing something you love for the sheer pleasure it gives you. You are so lucky to be able to do what you do. It translates into your videos, and I for one appreciate what you do.
I have a 2002 LS 430 I bought last June with 59k original miles. It's also my favorite car. I bought it to drive occasionally. I ended up selling my 2019 Honda Accord to drive the 430 daily. It feels special when you drive it.
Some people don't understand the quality of older autos...AMD has a passion not too many people have anymore...pride regardless of cost...that machine is absolutely gorgeous and driving it after all the labor and cost invested has to be just inexplicable. Thanx AMD...Great work.
You how satisfying it is to watch this, that even old VW Golf diesel owners like me watch it. Even if I don't own a Lexus/Toyota, I still like to repair my car where I can and this channel has great all round mechanic tips.
I remember when the Car Care Nut channel first came out a 3 years ago. Nice to see that you made the magic 1,000,000 sub list. Keep on producing great content. AMD had a fade and a blue shirt working on a Camry lol.
Journey On with repairing and maintaining, rather than replacing ... and thank you for all the details you present about these reliable Lexus LS Models ... Enjoy your ride and please continue producing for your 'Tube Channel ...
I love your videos. I consider it therapy. I love your attention to detail and knowledge. As far as cost goes, who cares. I have heard Jay Leno say, " if you make money on selling a restored car, you did not do it right " . We do it for love.
The next project I guess will be a SUPRA!!!!!!!!!! Am I right...am I right?... lol Spray can Contact Adhesive in strategic places works wonderfully on those pesky trunk panels without major adhesive contamination. Instead of writing on forever, I will just say - I love you, brother. I (we subs) are so so happy over your success on RUclips. You deserve every bit of it. God bless you and your family.
I'm really enjoying watching this car be brought back to enjoyable condition. You hit the nail on the head when you said, "It might not be worth it to you, but it is worth it to me." If you love it saving money isn't even a thought. You'll spend what you need to get it right.
When working on wipers which have a spring arm, I place a thick towel or blanket on the glass. If you slip and let it hit the glass, you might have a cracked windshield.
Happened to me....bummer, was changing neighbors wipers, it slipped, cracked her BMW windshield.....stupid is what stupid does....Tom in Wa (the other good one)
Everyone has their special projects they love and enjoy !!! There are times in our lives we just need to do what brings us joy and happiness. I worked for a company that cleaned and restored oriental carpets. Some valuable, some not, but we had customers spend 10 times the value of the carpet just because of sentimental reasons. So enjoy your journey with this lexus !!!!
For some reason, a clean and well-fitted trunk is a thing of beauty. I have spent similar amounts of time and money making trunks on my vehicles look nice.
Ahmed, this is for the love of the car and for love of working on it. I admire deeply your quiet “well, but it’s OK”, your patience to disassemble the whole piece (of a door / of a trunk lid) and repair a small little detail and put it back together again. Because the details make a thing. Wish you another 365000 miles of pleasurable driving and “let the God bless you & keep you” forever ;-))) Thank you.
I totally understand why you are rebuilding this car. I too have the same passion for repairing and not just replacing. Its about the process and the skill you develop after years of being a mechanic and not just a parts changer. Theirs also the pleasure that comes with working on a quality machine and putting it right again. If you are like me you go to sleep thinking about a problem and wake up with a solution .Its going to be beautiful car and I'm sure you enjoy it. Yes it will likely never be 100% done, but that's OK. GH
I bought a 2017 LS460 brand new… I never wanted to drive it, a rock chip HURT deep in my heart. I sold that on, bought a 2007 LS460L for $8,500, sank about $20,000 in repairs into it over the course of 4 years but I drive that thing EVERYWHERE. So I understand why you are doing this. The other day, I had my Mom in the 2007 LS460, I wasn’t paying much attention and drove over a parking block with the right front tire, it didn’t do any real damage, but I was mad for about 2 seconds and got over it, if I had done that on my 2017 I would still be mad! Haha my 2007 isn’t perfect, but I certainly love driving it.
Congratulations on achieving 1 million subscribers. You are a master of more than just fixing cars. Your waters run deep and pure. Your character shines in everything you do. Many blessings to you always as the gods smile on you.
Amir … I continue to love the 600000 mile project, and can’t wait for what’s next. Here you are, proving that interesting content, knowledge, and impeccable honesty yields 1,000,000 viewers. Congratulations!
With your skill set, garage, training and access to Toyota and Lexus networks, I think this is a fascinating adventure in owning one of the best-built and practical luxury cars ever made. Thanks for sharing the journey with us. I recently purchased a 2005 Highlander Limited with with only 100K miles and excellent maintenance records. It is easy for me to work on and very sturdy, as well as a pleasure to drive. I plan to keep it stock as much as possible. I found a 2007 in the salvage yard that had a front-end collision. The interior/exterior was same colors. I harvested a wheel borrow of parts of of it and they are bagged and marked on a special shelf in my basement. I hope to have it through 400K.
Love this car. You have amazing patience and skill. Totally agree with you on replacing wipers with OEM. I hate replacement aftermarket wipers with a passion.
You are one of the very few people who can make viewers like me, feels like I'm in the shop with you working together. I honestly feel so lucky for being able to learn from your knowledge, your passion with these rides and these hours of detailed informations with great audio and visuals plus years of experience.
Man U are doing what I want to do to my Lexus GS350 hahah. Much love my guy. I appreciate you appreciating that Lexus and its heritage. ❤️❤️ much love from a Lexus lover to another.
I have learnt so much about how to pull things apart with this series. I have a 2003 IS200 that was nearly perfect when I purchased it from a 95 year old lady. I have almost done everything it needs and now I love driving it. I'm a bit paranoid about something happening to it because it has to be a daily driver. Thanks again for your great videos.
Your journey with the 600,000 mile Lexus serves to reinforce my journey with the 300,000 mile regular cab short bed Tundra... I am not pursuing perfection, I am pursing enjoyable drive-ability and pride of ownership. Congratulations on earning 1M subscribers!
Good luck with the next 700,000 miles. BTW one of the men in Louisiana who put 1,000,000 on his first Tundra has now passed 900,000 on a second one. He expects to hit the million mil mark by October.
Absolutely love what you have done with the car. If I had the knowledge and confidence I would do exactly what you did. Money is not everything. We need to follow our passions.
I admire your level of patience and determination..This video is a Masterclass. I hope you enjoy driving the car when it is eventually finished. The car is certainly looking good
Thank you for another superbly produced video. As much as I enjoy watching you do the work, I also VERY much enjoy how well put together your videos are. The quality of the production makes me look forward to watching the video. So please let your staff know that their efforts are greatly appreciated.
thank you for continuing this series about the LS430! I always enjoy your work and comments. While knowing it isn’t “perfect” in your eyes yet, it looks a million percent better than the first show. Can’t wait for more.
I’m in agreement. If there is a car that you have always loved and has been part of the family, then cost doesn’t count. It is the love and memories that the car has brought to you. I always enjoy your videos and learn ways to maintain my cars. Thank you for taking your time to make them and sharing your knowledge with us.
Ahmed, you are doing great on this car. I like that you answer to yourself and you do as you please. I drive my 45 year old car daily ( Pontiac Bonneville), because I love it and I fix it. It's far from perfect, but gets compliments always. My wife and daughter are in 05 Toyota and Lexus's , 3.3 vvti respectively, each with 190 to 195K miles that are great vehicles as well. Yes, I am envious of that gorgeous high mile Lexus of yours, it's so beautiful, and although I would love one no matter how many miles, I so thrilled for you that you have this. You deserve this beauty, and this car deserves an owner as great as you. May God bless you as well.
This has been an enjoyable and rewarding odyssey ... I can feel your genuine enjoyment and love for this beautiful piece of rolling engineering art ... 😍 When your a car guy/gal it's never about affordability, practicality or reliability ... it's about how a car makes you feel ... I've spent money on cars that have needed so much work but at the end of the day ... the feeling those cars gave when driving them was worth all the blood, sweat, tears & money ... 👍
This car deserves its restoration because it has lasted 600.000 miles and is in good condition for that. Hopefully it will last to see 1.000.000 miles someday. Happy motoring Amd.
TOTALLY WORTH IT. ON THE ROAD, THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE FEEL. IT GOES FROM 50 TO 110 MPH FASTER THAN JUST ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE! And you roll on, totally relaxed on the road. Relaxed, alert, and ready to drive on and on and on! Wow!!! Everybody is jealous!!!
It's not about the cost if you love it. It's a beautiful restoration ........... one that could only be accomplished by a master mechanic who admires the pinnacle of LEXUS engineering and craftmanship. I've been to JAPAN many times and, I too, admire their attention to detail, customer satisfaction, and meticulous pursuit of perfection.
I worked for Lexus for over 20 years and I understand and agree on you doing this project. My fav LS is the ‘94 LS400 Anniversary Ed. white color. Although they came in a real nice blue.
I’ve loved the videos about this vehicle. In my opinion, it’s money and time well spent. Few modern vehicles have had such an impact on what a luxury car should be. Well done!! And thanks!!
It's not often you get to see full work in real time. Problems encountered and problem solving. Thanks for taking the effort to post. Much appreciated.
Welcome to 1 Million fans AMD! So much good good happening here but I really wish that you would have sanded and painted that battery clamp =) Looking forward to the next episode!
Looking Good Ahmed! Slowly but surely! Your ls430 is looking amazing!! Bumpers are clean! Paint job came out good!Need to drive one of these one day... bucket list 😊
I have Rain-X wipers on my Toyota and they are fine. I haven’t had any issues with them. I prefer the beam blade style over conventional or OEM style because it has better coverage since they are curved and they work great in the winter.
Loved this one. You are an inspiration to those of us who work on our own cars and love the overall process, but still get frustrated along the way with the little setbacks that seem to happen continuously. You had your fair share of setbacks in this one, but always seem to maintain your positive attitude and good nature, no matter what you encounter. That's a great model for the rest of us as we dig into car repairs and restorations as well as in other parts of our lives. God bless you.
I love that an expert’s expert even has these moments. If he swore, he would be FML’ing this whole video. But instead he says, “that’s OK.” The Nut is an amazing man.
This car is a classic beauty, you inspected everything and replaced everything that needed replacing along with non oem junk parts which you couldn't live with and neither could I. You wanted this car to be as perfect as possible within reason and you wanted to do all the work knowing it was done right. Like you, I am a car fanatic and I totally understand why you put the time and the money into this wonderful Lexus. Look at it as a gift to yourself for achieving one million subscribers during the rebuild. Congratulations, the car is a Lexus masterpiece.
I totally agree. Some things tell us the story and history of the car. Those things should remain. It would be like restoring a 100 year old house and removing all the original woodwork because it isn't perfect, then replacing it with some crappy vinyl product or painted particle board.
Thank you. Very interesting. Illustrates that I will never attempt a rebuild. If it takes you an expert this long with this much expertise. I'll simply blow it. Thanks for simplifying my decision.
That car deserved this makeover. It earned it. Youve earned the right to put as much as you want in it if it makes you happy. Its a labor of love they could say. Thanks for showing vapor barrier install. I made my own but thinking of ordering oem ones just cause I'm like you and I want Toyota oem quality. God bless. Thoroughly enjoyed this series.
You owe absolutely nothing to those who don’t understand why you are doing this. This fills you with pleasure. No other explanations necessary!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I understand 100% - everyone is allowed a hobby!
Passion projects are among the best life pursuits. Also appears likely the unusual Toyota or Lexus problems will be sent to AMD that even the dealerships can't figure out, but dedicated owners don't want to get rid of their vehicles over.
Anybody that owned or currently owns an ls430 understands.
Agreed. This is so therapeutic for car guys.
There is something about this restoration that I love. It's not about money. It's not about practicality. It's about appreciation of engineering quality. Quality that isn't common. Thank you for doing this.
It makes him a better mechanic for his future customers.

It's such a beautiful car.
Engineering and quality that's no longer around
The Lexus Ls 430 episodes should never end! keep'em coming.
Oh, they’ve not going to end, unless he quits it. This is a gift that keeps on giving
people really enjoying seeing a job done right...thank you...
Yes, we certainly do. It's just a pleasure to see each installment of the 430's rebirth.
The LS430 and Land Cruiser are my favorite cars ever made.
Anybody who says that this car isn't worth rebuilding shouldn't probably be watching this kind of video anyways. That car is absolutely gorgeous You're doing awesome job and I love watching all your videos. You're a great mechanic. Keep up the great work!
This is the last elegant car ever made. Pure, unadulterated class.
Any car from Toyota and lexus from 2001 to 2007 is awesome.
Modern ones aren't bad either.
I often shit blood after eating chipotle but the 90’s Toyotas were built different
It's sort of...humble class. Which is even classier. Older Mercedes had it too.
The best thing about this build is that the more you drive it, the closer it gets to ONE MILLION miles.
*Ahmed, thank you for again emphasizing a weak battery inflicts unneeded electrical stress on an alternator. Congratulations on One Million+ subscriptions. Every one of them is hard-earned and well deserved. Love your long-form tutorials. Cheers!*

I'll settle for 'the million km Lexus' - which it pretty much precisely is!
I'm glad to see that somone much smarter and more experienced than me has the same difficulties with wiper replacements! :)
I did a ton of wiper replacements back in the day when I worked at Jiffy Lube and I still struggle time to time with them. lol
Congrats on a million!
Conratulations on 1,000,000 subscribers. You have earned every one of them !
Hey Car Nut you won't believe.
Because of you I just bought 2001 LS 430 139000 miles
Very happy!
My wife impressed.

Dude, you are beyond incredible. I wish lived near you so I could be your friend and just absorb a little of this knowledge.
It's nice to see how calm you remain in the face of setbacks and keep an overview. An important ingredient for a successful restoration

Between you and Sarah-n-tuned, the attention to detail is staggering, but inspiring.
This makes me want an LS 430 2006 model like this beauty. I have watched the whole process so far.

I've restored a car from the ground up so I understand the passion involved in one of these projects. Very enjoyable to watch.
Million sub man. 👏👏👏. The accolades are all well deserved.

That model was sought after by the elites❤very nice Al!!
Those trunk seals typically have a paint mark that goes by the rear glass right in the middle - exactly opposite the latch.
That's 966,000 klms here in Australia...wow😮
Welcome to 1 Million fans AMD! So much good good happening here but I really wish that you would have sanded and painted that battery clamp =) Looking forward to the next episode!
I was thinking the same thing! The rest of that engine compartment is so clean and smooth, you could eat off of it. The battery clamp should match!
Looking Good Ahmed! Slowly but surely! Your ls430 is looking amazing!! Bumpers are clean! Paint job came out good!Need to drive one of these one day... bucket list 😊
I share your passion for cars! I admire this project you’ve shared with us. I think this is not a worthless journey. Enjoy your LS430, it’s beautiful!
I have enjoyed this process, and wholeheartedly agree with you. The value of this beautiful car is in your enjoyment of ownership
"Because i love this car" is a perfectly good reason.
1 million Well Deserved Champ god bless
This car is a classic beauty, you inspected everything and replaced everything that needed replacing along with non oem junk parts which you couldn't live with and neither could I. You wanted this car to be as perfect as possible within reason and you wanted to do all the work knowing it was done right. Like you, I am a car fanatic and I totally understand why you put the time and the money into this wonderful Lexus. Look at it as a gift to yourself for achieving one million subscribers during the rebuild. Congratulations, the car is a Lexus masterpiece.
it's a beautiful car! imperfections add character. something being perfect adds too much stress, like you said. enjoy it!
I totally agree. Some things tell us the story and history of the car. Those things should remain.
It would be like restoring a 100 year old house and removing all the original woodwork because it isn't perfect, then replacing it with some crappy vinyl product or painted particle board.
Congrats on 1 Million subs! 🏆🏆🏆🏆
Thank you. Very interesting. Illustrates that I will never attempt a rebuild. If it takes you an expert this long with this much expertise. I'll simply blow it.
Thanks for simplifying my decision.
When you love❤ it. Its worth it. Labour of love.
Congratulations AMD on reaching 1 MILLION Subscribers!
