Back in the day when my parents had a dairy farm, cows were taken to the butcher. I am pretty sure the packages had the type of cut and not for sale on them. The meat locker had lockers they rented to keep the packages in. It helped identify stuff butchered for people and not available for sale to general public in the meat case.
You and Froggy Flips are truly the best. I love when you put up a new video. Thank you for the content. I had the entire set of The Bible Story books. That brings back some memories.
What an amazing pick Kevin, I just love the way you pick stuff other pickers would not have any interest in. They spend hours looking for that thing that they can flip for $100, you take minutes to find 5 things worth $20, Brilliant tactics. Your our #1 picker to watch.
Those were butcher stampers. When someone takes their livestock animal to the butcher, they would pack it, wrap it in butcher paper, then stamp it so that you would know which cuts it was. The 'Not for Sale' part was because it wasn't available for sale and belonged to the person that brought it in. As a homesteader who butchers our own meat, I would LOVE to have those! Super neat find. Wish you had picked them up! Thanks so much for all of the knowledge you give and entertainment you provide!
If it’s free, then you help him not break his back anymore and you can earn the money for the time you put into it. Win, win! I would have looked through every tote!!! That was a fun video 🥰 I would have loved to have gone to that sale. Great finds ❤️
I love how your Southern accent really is pronounced when you are out pickin' and then goes away when you're back in the shed. Amazing scores, great video!!
I love sales like that myself. Where its all vintage stuff that you rummage through that no one else has seen in years :) Its a blast just seeing what you find.
Listening while painting, so didn't see what you were looking at. However, my guess is it was a rubber stamp . In that case short ribs not for sale was from a butcher shop. They cut and wrap a beef from a local rancher for a customer . The butcher stamps the white freezer wrap pkg of say, short ribs , with its contents so when the customer takes a qtr or half a beef takes it home , they can identify their white pkgs their cut of beef that's in their freezer.
I know this is an older video but I hope you see the comment! In this video and at least 1 other I’ve seen you pass up something that I had as a kid and just bought on eBay. 90’s kid nostalgia. Try and snatch up those Avon sleepy Sherman pajama bears when you see them! Plenty of comps on those, upwards of $50!
I worked in a butcher shop for many years where we also took in farmers, cows, pigs, and lambs. When we wrapped the farm meat, we had to stamp them Not for sale with the old wooden stamps like those so they didn't get confused with our retail meats :)
Those are meat packing stamps. When you get meat processed at a packing plant it isn't for resale because it isn't inspected. It is for personal use/consumption only.
Wow Kevin, you found so many bibles! April picked up 3 bibles at that sale last fall, one was a $125 sale. I hope the comment section isn’t too harsh on you.
Books, Dolls, Bibles, Cookies for kids, Animals, figures, hat, License plates, plush, Pokemon cards, McDonald's toys, 711 cups, small plush, Swing, Britney spears, Norman Rockwell, Ash tray, Pop bottles, Cabbage Patch. Kevin you hit abundance of great stuff. You scored on this pick. Awesome
Look out for scrabble letters as crafters use the letters to make personalised gifts pictures with the letters especially occasions weddings etc especially the older letters can be worth a lot of money, look out for Paddington bear with clothes wellies and luggage label as they are going to be bringing out a new film this year and he is also mascot for UNICEF and children in schools will be told what UNICEF is about especially with the war going on in Ukraine and the books, it's a story about a bear from Peru and came to London England with a family in the 70s/80s .children will be wanting to get one.
I’ve got a rare John Deere medallion, someone gave to me. He worked for John Deere years ago and got it from the Company. So many things I see that I have, just stored away. Guess I need to have a sale! Ever come to Minnesota? I have a whole lot of vintage toys, books, sport cards, bibles, framed pictures, Corning ware, etc. My basement, barn and sheds are full!
lololol I have those bells except my grandpa in law had built a square box for them and added a plexiglass cover. And they still work..I never thought they would be worth a dime, probably still not.
Went to my first estate sales this weekend and Holy crap those people are on another level. Showed up 20 minutes early to my first sale and thought I was going to a concert there were so many people. I've learned a ton from collectors this weekend. Mainly that I'm never going to get what I see that I want in the pics for reasonable prices. But where do you get the blue bags that you have is my question? I was at an estate sale today books were $10 a bag.
7-eleven Amoco branded cups: Amoco (American Oil Company) was a gas station brand from when I was younger. It was bought out by BP and the name went away, but I heard BP has revived the brand in certain parts of the USA in the last 5 years. It’s early history ties into the Standard Oil Brand. 7-eleven comes into play, on the cups, because their stores were often co-located on the same sites as the gas stations.
Free books! I'd have been driving away with the car dragging along the roadway settled way down on its suspension... It's amazing what you can squeeze into a car for the right price. I bought a pallet of 30 desktop PCs at auction years ago for £6 and managed to get them into the back of a Fiat Punto--I hadn't planned to buy anything large so didn't take the van. The car was a bit sluggish on the return trip and wasn't too keen on stopping either. It was only later that I added the weight up and found it came to over 300kg (nearly 700lb).
Who would of thought bibles can he worth money these days.... I think I may have a few hidden away may have to get them checked out... thank you for the upload Chris... love your videos I could binge watch them all day... love from the UK 😊
I sold the children's books "The Bible Story" volumes 1-10 for $109. back in October. My husband found that at a thrift store. He usually doesn't find good stuff. LOL Now we always look at vintage children's books! I also do well on study bibles. Some that have sold well are Dake and Ryrie study bibles.
Kevin... I doubt you have had time to list the yearbooks... I am interested in the US ARMY Engineers & Ft Benning Yearbooks if reasonable enough... Coming up on 11 years that I have maintain an Engineers fb group for the 1960-90's Engineers and their support teams... plus have been assisting in a 2nd group having many of the engineers also... This supports the Veterans and I will continue to do this until I just am not able to do any longer. Combined it consists of just over 1000 Veterans...
Advertising Promo pocket Tape Measures. I sell those routinely, with the price dependent on age and subject matter. I especially like them from companies that have closed their doors.
Learning lots from your garage sale videos. I like trying to figure out what you are going to pick as you go around and I almost never seem to. Guess I have lots more to learn from watching. I like the format of the later one's of these video where you show the prices at the end. Thanks and the best of luck!
They would have to put not for sale if it’s not going through the FDA like if you’re getting a deer processed or a cow processed your personal they would have to put not for resale are not for sale on the packaging
If the seller would have charged 10¢ per book, he still would have made a bundle! BRM and Offsprings might have liked to be at that one, if it were possible? I truly hope that the gentleman who had the sale made a lot, even though he was so low on the prices. For giving all those books away, he deserved it.
I just asked my husband how people find so many Bibles? Do people really get rid of them? Maybe they are found and donated after someone passes? I feel if I ever “donated” any of my Bibles while alive…then after I die I might have some splainin’ to do!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣. This was a great parking lot sale.
Those are probably from a butcher and they stamp the paper to tell what it is but it’s being cut up for someone so they don’t sell it in the display case
WOW! I would have a hard time walking away without seeing every book. Or at least I'd still be thinking about it a year later! 😳 I have major FOMO though!
Hey Kevin I just got my hands on a large amount of tupperware and I would like to know how you pack them. In bubble wrap and then in a polybag or do you put them in a box with bubble wrap
That was an absolute pickers goldmine!!!!! Couldn’t believe the books were free!!!! Outstanding 👍🏻
Good to know...they also put it on game meat packages processed by a butcher.
I was an online book seller for 9 years. I enjoyed watching you find books.
That on the banks of plum creek book I would love to have it bc I used to live in plum creek where Laura wilder lived

Awesome score, Kevin! I started having mild anxiety wanting to reach out and start picking stuff. Keep the great content coming.
I’m 53 and I have those children’s bibles in French that were read to all of us in the family.
I love how your Southern accent really is pronounced when you are out pickin' and then goes away when you're back in the shed. Amazing scores, great video!!
I love sales like that myself. Where its all vintage stuff that you rummage through that no one else has seen in years :) Its a blast just seeing what you find.
I am amazed at all the Bibles that are for sale. How would anyone collect this many and who would sell a Bible.

Great job I really like the rolling listings at the end reminds me of the ending credits from a movie

I love it Kevin said Holly Molly 5 times so far at the mother sale Free books. He's rolling in this one.
Haven't even finished the video but I'm having anxiety over all the high value bibles I've likely passed over. I'll have to keep an eye out now.
Boy oh Boy, did you do good on books!
Easy to list an easy to ship!!!

good thing it wasn't a Fiat Cinquecento instead
That box of miscellaneous figures, Cookie Monster etc, your family will love.
You learn something new every day. I’ve seen 2 of those stretched soda bottles in the past week and didn’t even think they’d be worth anything.

Who's Chris?
I would've bought that guiness book with confidence. And then I looked them up. Lol, good call.

Do you still have that fort Benning book?

Did I. Dang. I would have loved to grab that.
@@CommonwealthPicker well it was a lot to go through, you're bound to get blind when digging around 😅 Still awesome stuff.
BIBLE RUMOR - People hide $$$ bills in them, because most break-in robbers aren't going thru a bible for money.
@12:50 you passed by 2 lawn chairs. I know I would've missed a lot more than that. What a massive amount of stuff to rummage through.
Awesome finds Kevin!!!
Those doll size peacock chairs sell in my booth all day long for 12 bucks.
