Somehow we hit 10k views on this video, so huge thanks to all of you! Glad this video is actually helpful and I wasn't talking nonsence for 7 minutes :D Upd: 50k holy shit ily
This video is what turned me from a cringe dt farmer to a chad game enjoyer, no joke. Thanks for this guide, today markes a big place in my progression. I passed shotgun symphony with ez. Really great moment for me. And to think 2 months ago I could barely play 3*s with ez. I am learning ezdt and dipping my toes into ezhd. All of the tips in this video really helped, Again thanks for the guide!
This is basically how I learned to play EZ: I started playing a map I was already familiar with with extremely easy to read/remember patterns (Daidai Genome), I had a lot of fun trying random EZ mod combinations with it and ended up playing the map a lot of times, after a while I decided to try EZ on other maps and I was so used to the low approach rate that I could actually somewhat sightread new maps. My suggestion is to find a map you enjoy playing and are already familiar with that isn't too hard and doesen't have weird patterns, and just tryhard it with EZ Also, some tips with the skin: Make sure it has follow points/add them from another skin Make sure it doesen't have slider ends/remove them
I started playing EZ just today and i found out its really fun! This guide helped a bunch and iam looking forward to being as good as you are one day :)
This is a pretty neat guide for those new to the EZ mod. I encourage more people to play the mod because it is really fun to hit perfectly in a pile of visual mess.
Regarding the discussion of pattern separate, if it is possible to separate patterns, it seems that the person already has the ability to recognize all the notes that appear in order, so training it may not make sense. Also, since it is difficult to grasp the exact rhythm with that reading method, I think that it is necessary to consider the reading ability of the approach circle.
I agree that you can just recognize the note order, but I still separate patterns, because it is easier for me to not get lost. Approach circles however are almost useless for reading, because it is the last thing you notice when there are 10+ objects on the screen. Combo colors and numbers are better to get the general picture of where to aim.
wtf it's almost a year and still is hearting the comments. respect. I learned EZ by playing the maps with nomod a lot and then when i memorized the map i gave it a go with EZ. When I did the technique for a long time, I tried to sightread maps than memorizing the maps, and then I was practicing, playing on McOsu and playing osu! offline because I don't wanna set the scores. And then I got it.
I heart every comment on my channel, because sometimes youtube doesn't show them so i'm keeping track of which ones I've seen. And I'm not that popular for it to be a problem :P
@Joshua Eversley EZ makes it harder, because there are a lot more circles on screen at once, so it's a lot harder to read, it's still easier than fl since you can't read with fl but you can just memorize to play ez, also if you do learn low ar, ez will pretty much always make it easier
as a left handed player using mouse on right hand, I have always found jumpy maps really difficult, but not dense rhythm. After using easy, jumps are now way easier because of larger circle size. I just started gaining more pp. then there's 99% of players saying easy is hard. I would just say 'it depends'.

I still don't understand where I am supposed to look at the screen. On NM I can just follow the next note but when I play EZ, I feel like it's better to look at the middle of the screen. I don't know
With EZ it's the same, you follow every note. It's just you need to know which object exactly you have to aim right now. This is why it's easier to break down the map into different patterns in your head
I started about 1.5 years ago, I don't quite remember how I got the idea however I remember only playing one map first and that is thzz' diff on Virtual Paradise, basically memorizing the map it was really fun since it was a new experience for me, however it was very tiring due to brain overload, so I stopped playing the mod actively, but I did play it on occasion since UNTIL one month ago when I tried EZDT, more precisely EZDT speed (basically mixing the playstyle of RyuK and EZChamp) and man, I have not had so much fun for so long, now I'm starting to play some stream maps with EZ as well and I managed to find an 8 star jump map I can read with EZ (sped up Sakura no Uta quantumvortex diff) if I never started playing EZ, I would've never returned to the game because I had a 6 month break in 2021 I don't find NoMod fun anymore, nor any other mod combination except EZ and EZDT EZ changed my life

1. Not really, it's personal preference after all. There is this website osuskinner.com where you can easily make a skin for yourself. 2. I'd say start with maps like 0.7-1.3 stars lower than you usually play. 3. No, just playing random (usually jump) maps for improvement. Although I have a collection with maps that are really hard to read with ez for practicing. Good luck! Glad that I can make ez community a little bit bigger :D
I recommend that you play old maps because they have a lot of strange patterns and rhythms and jump maps, I also recommend you to play noah's maps like oddloop owarase night etc. but you probably can't pass them, but still I recommend you to try those maps and maybe then tag4, you can play them with nf if you want, still, just play for fun and play what you like to play and don't give up, good luck!
Most skins are just personal preference, but preferred EZ skins are usually have different combo colours so you don't get confused easily when there are like 10 notes on a screen, so combo colours can help you with the order of hitting those notes. I assume 300k have already FCd some 4* maps, you might want to start with older maps (Around 2009 and after) with EZ, around 3.2* - 3.7* range. The reason why I don't recommend maps from 2007 - 2008 is because most of them are easier to play with EZ than without, maps from that era has barely any overlaps on a section, but you can still find some maps that has some reading patterns in it. The point of playing EZ is to increase the ability to read low AR and note overlaps can help you to get used to it. I don't know if this might help because I paid attention to EZ when I was a low 5 digit, and I don't play EZ really much. But hey, you can start right now and also don't play EZ too much or you can't play anything beside that mod, try playing with various mods combination and then you can read any kinds of maps with ease.
One thing that i dont understand is how are you supposed to pattern seperate when you dont even know which circles go together and which circles to seperate? This is for the more denser patterns as like 5 object pattern wouldnt be too hard to seperate however i feel like in order to seperate for the more denser patterns is to go into editor and memorization.

i know that feeling, when i started playing osu it was hard for me to read 1-2s even nomod, so i guess it's just a matter of time and getting used to them
Wanted to start playing std (im a 3digit taiko and catch player) JUST with ez, I have no experience in std, should I start playing nm and later switching to ez or doesn't it matter? Good video btw!!
I would say play both, because i think this situation is kinda like some hidden players, where they start with getting used to reading hidden and then they have to relearn nm. Also ez doesn't affect low difficulties too much, it's mainly the 4+ stars where it gets tricky to read objects.
I’m a 5 digit looking to improve ar9 reading, as I struggle to read anything below ar9.5 due to overreading and overaiming. Will learning the EZ mod help fix my ar9 overreading?
It depends; can you play lower AR if it's a lower difficulty map, or does it just feel impossible to get used to lower ARs no matter the difficulty? While EZ forces you to focus on rhythm more than immediate reaction, the actual timings are different for each AR. The more tangible benefit can be in understanding higher note densities, which imo is the more significant difficulty with reading AR below your comfort level.
Update: learning EZ does indeed help a metric fuck ton in overall reading, even up to ar10. Idk how to explain it, but it just feels like my brain can process everything at once
My only problem with EZ mod is that now when I'm below 9 AR I only aim approximately because I'm used to having to aim with larger circles to make up for the greater reading difficulty. Another part of it is that I tend to play EZHD so it's harder to get a clear idea of how close I was to the center of the circle.
That's a good question actually. I think not really, because HR is basically nomod which requires precision, and EZ is very different from nomod. So you're gonna build muscle memory for EZ, and it shouldn't affect HR too much. But i could be wrong, so you're gonna have to test it yourself :P

does being good in EZ mod makes you better without in no mods?
not really but helps a bit with ar 8
what's the pp value of EZ + insane map???
around 90, might be a bit lower for short maps
@@Toxic664 -GN plays longer maps with a worth of 300pp+ , others 400pp+
@@etreni well yeah, because he plays 6-7* maps, not insane difficulty (which is 4*)
As a hidden only player should I play ezhd first, or should I stick to only ez like you said?
i guess you can start with ezhd, if it's more comfortable for you
Красавчик, жду версию на русском)
субтитры то есть)
would learning ez make me good at nomod reading 🤔
kinda, i would say ezhd is useful for hd tourney maps
@@Toxic664 alright thanks
I'd say yes, it made ar 9+ look faster and somehow I could read so much better(played ez for 2 hours for the first time), not just no mod but also hdhr. I guess it helps clear the bad habits and mindblocks that you have so I say yes, this is all based on my own personal experience tho
Thankyouuu...!! I did all these, and its effective..!!
Wait do you really do the pattern separation continuously? For me it just uh kind of happens
it does happen naturally for me too, i just needed to explain it somehow
one day i will playing ez mod
now im too weak
i'll be back
EZFL is the way to go
ez makes it so much harder
Am I crazy if I think HDEZ is easier than NMEZ?
it's not very surprising if you're a hidden main
I can read EZ now owooo.....I am just play them casually for fun
In fact, I am just about quitting the game
What song is it in the background?
soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired Something from here, sorry I don't remember
Ok ty
how do u use mods in editor?
just make another difficulty with the same stats
time to play ezhr
ok hear me out
ez mod without hitcircles
i gotta try that
@@Toxic664 trust me its not gonna be fun its like ezhd but worse
@@_san7 i've tried many weird things in my osu career
@@Toxic664 u can try it with making hitcircle invisible on the skin folder
@@kujubuo i know, i have a video with me playing a fully invisible map
Bruhhh I've been missing along timeeee
I can't play EZ with HR 🤣
what i just got reccomended
Is EZ mod more on reading capacity?
i don't quite understand your comment, so... yes?
how to ez dt fl hd
you need to use some more brain for that
if i become an EZ mode player will my level get worst at no mode ?
No, if you will still play nomod sometimes
Alvaq. I imagine you would get better since your reading and timing would be better
Curse number of likes had been remove.
EZ feels so difficult , I want it to feel easy for me 🤝
