I'm also an EZ player, but in osu!catch. But there's an interesting things in catch the beat. In catch the beat mode, the use of EZ mode can increase the star rating in specific map (mostly in "Platter" and "Rain" difficulty) and gives more PP than nomod with the same FC accuracy
this seems like it'll be a super cool series! if you want an idea for something that would be even more terrible, doing AR 11 for 10 hours sounds interesting

just open something like gimp or photoshop and overlay the hitcircle-overlay on top of the hitcircle. after that rename that as the hitcircle and make a transparent hitcircle-overlay (sorry for the convoluted instructions btw)
6:00 so it's possible to make an fcable map NM but not with EZ. just make a map with like 50? 60? objects stacked right at the edge and use stack liniency 1 so that if you use EZ a couple of the objects would be offscreen. Would this be rankable because exit this earths atomosphere by rrtyui is pretty similar but not fully offscreen yet?
There is nothing in the ranked criteria that says that this isn't allowed. So, as long as you get enough Beatmap Nominators that don't check the EZ mode then it could be ranked.

I’d say you’d make a pretty good EZ player within just a couple months.

It really isn't harder, it's just a new skillset. It's like biking for 1000 hrs and wondering why skateboarding seems harder, simply, you just haven't skated.
