Great analysis. I honestly do think he's got pretty good hockey IQ, which will be the "make or break" for him in the NHL as an elite level player or average top 6. More often than not he gets a good pass off or is able to generate a good shot for himself. I think he's a safe pick with a high ceiling. Needs one more year in Liiga next year and that's really when we'll be able to get a good read on him.

excellente analyse pour son board play. On peut deja voir que ces une de ses forces dans la nlh a 19 ans. Good shot also and very good hockey IQ in evidence when playing with Suzuki and Caufield. Very good young first line.

Montreal gotta pick Slafkovsky at 1st, Wright is good but lacking confidence and his skating is not as smooth as Slafkovsky skating.

At the start of the year i thought he was "meh". But with the improvements he's made I think he could develop into a M.Tkachuk type player in the offensive zone, just maybe not quite as good around the net as Tkachuk.

Thanks David, I agree with your analysis, he has improved a lot during the year, at Hlinka he was losing the puck for nothing (eye movement concerns), at U20 WC he was still having heavy foots, but now, he seems to have corrected his foot step and puck control and even show handling skills, he plays with great confidence. I was projecting him as an AHL/NHL bottom line forward but hes now trending more as a middle line forward, not sure yet about his top ceilling. He's big and strong so will probably be rushed into the nhl if drafted by a bad development team like Montréal, maybe a couple of hit to the head or bad injurys will slow him down as it usually happen to NHL rushed prospects. I hope for him that the team that will draft him will let him dominate in finland and so on in the AHL, no problems to wait for that guy 3-4 years if he improve as he did this year, this guy have the ability to works on his flaws and he can surprise us in the future.

@@licmysak7842 Sorry but I could have named the Rangers too, under Jeff Gorton they were very bad for players development, and its one of the reasons why Gorton have been fired. Kakko and Lafrenière are strugling and what to say about Lias Anderson, Vitali Kravtsov, Day, Grop, Alverson, Tambellini... its a total mess . So dont expect Montréal to be better in development. Even if Gorton is in place since a while, he still doesn't do anything for a development department. You can already see that Gorton and Hugues are draft oriented and not development oriented. The other big problem in Montréal is the media pressure, each training camps the medias are pressuring the hockey department to keep one or several unready youngster in the line up, so when the kids are not developing well, the media can criticize the kids, its the way the sports media do their business in Montréal. Lately they've done it with Drouin, Galchenyuk, KK, Romanov, even Caufield! its very sad for the kids to see that but Montreal is not a good environment to develop players and the last 25 years have proven it. Sorry like's the habs but we need to see the evidences.
