Would be so cool if the Devils picked him up, he could go down to Utica where I'm sure he'd flourish, and then get called up eventually, what with all the injuries and Covid protocols. I'm not actually sure what the Devils' pick is, but they're low enough to be around #5 or #6 in the lottery, so might actually be viable.
cant decide between this guy and shane wright. i dont see the critism against this guy because his strengths more than make up for it. but smart players are always better so i can see shane wright being a safe choice for mtl
@@nhldraftpros thats exactly why im watching these highlights hahaha, from being a fan of montreal for so long and them getting small forwards, im just very intrigued by Slaf but yes, wright would be the best move
@@nhldraftpros He was on my radar all year and to see him jump up everybody else's rankings so quick makes me believe in his play driving skills. I can see him and Quinn being 1-2 punches on the right side! I'd definitely take the shot, if the right shot dmen Nemec and Jiricek are gone. I feel like Lambert or Yurov is a good player to target with the Vegas pick. And then take Miroshnichenko... Could you imagine closing the first round with Kemell, Lambert, Miroshnichenko. Sounds like a filthy line by itself if Miroshnichenko can help up and return to form!
Wow he skates with the puck really easily. His Finnish league point production is just under Rantanen, Aho and Hinz. Alot of his goals seem to be shots in the slot, but his passing is top notch. Great shot. By the video he looks to make some risky passes like far side pointman and the pass across in his own zone would make NHL coaches cringe. That's his biggest weakness imo. Probably not a superstar player, but a fringe 1st liner or 2nd liner? Likely.
How you can say he does not have potential to be a superstar? He was the MVP and best scorer in the Olympic games at 17, now he was MVP of Slovak team in world tournament again (I thing 9 points in 7 games). He has great puck control and can be physicals as well (definitely not a weakness).
@@adamvatolik4377 I mean wouldnt expect a 100 point season from him, but a near point per game average? Probably. Like a consistent 65 point player who will probly have two or three 70 point seasons. We'll see how he pans out.
I'm concerned that his shots came through hustling rather then pure skill. He's got a really good shot but he was getting alot of space and time to take them, compare that to the NHL and those shots would just not happen. I get for a late 1st round pick its acceptable but for a 1st overall thats a red flag to me. He doesn't have a good pace to create those opportunities at the NHL level and for a first overall you need a player who's ready to play top 6 minutes. You cant have him on the fourth line and you cant have him on the third line either so you will need to send him to the AHL or Junior league. Which that means he's a project. Great, a 1st overall project for the MTL Canadiens, thats awesome stuff for the club. Gawt damn this club doesnt learn from their mistakes ever.
So, is the reason that the "experts" call this upcoming draft weak, because the talent isn't there, or is it because covid screwed everything up so bad for sports, that the players weren't able to fully be on display?
Who said that? It’s been pretty well known that this years draft is incredibly deep. The criticism is that there’s no generational talents like a Crosby, McDavid, Matthew’s, or like next years duo in Bedard/Michkov, but this draft has an incredible talent pool, better than most years.
...I am not a profesional and I am not a statistics guy. TRY to win bronze with Slovakia when no one gives a dump about of your team and expect you to get out from A group... That is something. SHOW how strong you are and how strong you are in important moments and Slovakia has a lots of them against giants like USA then Sweden. Is like play in the group and them play off...completely different team and different players goes to the top.
So in the video you praised his skating yet you put it as his weakness. You showed one clip where he could play body and he didn't, but he is actually not afraid to use his body. Putting physical play as his weakness makes no sense. And you put positional play as a weakness to almost every one of your prospects you made video about. I think 17-18 year olds playing against men shouldn't be penalized for their positional play that much...
Hi, thanks for input. For Slafkovsky I said that his skating was pretty good, maybe just needs to work on acceleration and other small aspects. In terms of physical play, he doesn't mind to hit, but there are times when he could engage physically to separate player from puck and he doesn't. And there were only 3 out of 5 prospects that I said they need to work on positional play. However, all suggestions on what they need to work on have varying degrees of how much to improve upon.
I watched his every game of the year, and he definitely uses his size. His physical play is top tier. Juraj's positional play is often that bad, that it should be listed as weakness at the moment, tbh. :/ He will be better at that in the future ofc. His skating is not good overall. His skating is only good when he gets his train going and uses his big body (again, top tier physical play)
Maybe people like wright for his two way. I think once someone will label a player like a past or present player like Bergeron they tend to be bias. I am not impressed by his skating. He passes too much. As a forward seeker that I would want to see for Montreal, I wouldn’t want a passer. I like his iQ, but he depends too much on others to complete the play which for me is scoring a goal. I am looking for a man on the ice. A player that is almost like a bull. Of all the players I see slafkovsky as the only top player that is a bull. He is 218 6’4. He is such a good strong skater. He also has that left side and right side body balance. He is always on his feet. He is also gritty. He is a very good stick handler and is always looking for someone. He didn’t get points like wright but this doesn’t mean when watching them both side by side that wright is better than slafkovsky. If I were to compare him to anyone that I can think of it’s mats sundin. I am wondering what is ice time was in the men’s league. I may have said too much here. But I see him as a top player and really give intimidation power to a lineup. He will get those points per game in my opinion. It’s very visible on the ice the way he plays. I just love his style. Sadly I haven’t been impressed by wright. Skating, and he just didn’t see, like a finisher like Cooley or Savoie. If I wanted a two way fine, I’ll think about wright. But for Montreal I want slofkovsky 100%. I also like his posture over wrights posture. By your videos I didn’t like the way wright is always getting rid of the puck. I want a player that is confident with the puck and that he is more than anything good one on one with a puck. But sadly I don’t think Montreal will draft him. I could take for hours about analyzing all these players. But like I said, you want a two way player? Go for wright. I just don’t see any physicality. And one thing I never liked is a player that falls a lot, I like a player that falls only to make sure to complete the play only. Years back when Montreal chose galchenyuk. I wanted folip forsberg. I wanted a player that was good passer and shooter and one on one deeker. A player that can end the game or tie it and steal the match. Get 5 players like that on your team and you’ll be winning a lot of games.
@@nhldraftpros another thing, Montreal chose kotkaniemi, I was not happy at alllll. I wanted Brady tkachuk. What failure with Montreal’s drafting choices in so many years. The league slafkovsky plays in is a lot more tighter. OHL is soft. Picture him in the OHL. He would the be grandfather of that league because of his ability and height. I really see him being that dominating player. Only thing is I don’t like a player that gets too many penalties. Soften that up and I’ll be happy. At this point we need a player just like him. Montreal chose kotkaniemi because he played centre. He was a wobbly skater, lanky type guy, I didn’t like him at all for Montreal. He was maybe responsible defensively, but I want a forward that is scoring mentality and has that presence on the ice. What a mess comparing what Montreal had with kotkaniemi and who they could have had with tkachuk. What a joke. I watched his father for many years growing up. If he was half his father I would take him. He was a hard working player. Played every game like his last game. I had no doubt his offspring would be the same way. And as you can see it runs in the tkachuk family. Very hard headed go getters. They have to win. I love this type of player. He needs to tone down bad penalties and that’s all.
@@nhldraftpros I like your page. I saw it once few days ago and I fell in love right away. Very informative. Subscribed instantly, it’s a nice package on each player. I know you’ll thrive if you keep on with your commitment to this page. Thank you.
Lots of people did... Lots of pro scouts had him at #1 by the end. Bob McKenzie's final list had him at #1, and it's based of ten NHL scouts lists. Corey Pronman had him at one, McCagg also, Boivert, etc. The general population didn't see him first because they had been told for years by the media that this would be Shane Wright's draft. But those who paid attention this year and watched both kids play were not as surprised.
Slafkovsky’s stock seems to be rising and see him in the top 3, but watching this video would make me hesitant to pick him top 10 and he’s looking like another Pavel Zacha. Doesn’t look like he has the instincts to be 2 way player and he doesn’t use his size. How do other Euro power wingers compare, like Jani Nyman or Kirill Dolhzenkov?
I think that Slafkovsky has the potential to be a better two way player...just needs some work. But I definitely think he has better upside than Nyman and Dolzhenkov tho.
I watched his every game of the year, and he definitely uses his size. He is very good in corners, and most of his plays comes because of his big body. And .. Yes indeed. He will not be a 2 way player, he is not good on defense and never will be. (Very mediocre on NHL standards). His other biggest weaknesses are passing and quite often he is reading the play wrong. What I mean by that is, he often tries to make stupid passes or does not play deep when he should. Basic mistakes basically, but that kinda stuff gets better in time. But yeah, passing 100% is his worst weakness. Nonetheless, he's going to be an amazing offensive player and is a top 10 pick. Sounds kinda presumptuous, but in FInland, when he is playing good, we call him Slovakian Jagr. :D:D
Juraj Slafkovsky is from Slovakia, dude. Slovakia and Russia are far from each other (politically and also on the map ;) ). Slovakia even helped Ukraine as the first EU country donating them S300 anti aircraft system ;)

Now he is first select 2022 nhl draft
Would be so cool if the Devils picked him up, he could go down to Utica where I'm sure he'd flourish, and then get called up eventually, what with all the injuries and Covid protocols. I'm not actually sure what the Devils' pick is, but they're low enough to be around #5 or #6 in the lottery, so might actually be viable.
Your dream may actually become a reality now!
@@Eric-ec8we Unless they wanna go with Cooley or Nemec, but I think Slafy would be a great fit for them.
@@SlovakLegend agreed
Yeah cuz Montréal Canadiens will go with Shane Wright
He should be a insterstring exciting player he could be a potential star in the NHL
When he said "boom" i felt that
LOL!!! Slafkovsky can shoot the puck!
@@nhldraftpros I can shoot the puck as well
I think he will be a good player, will he be great? I think that depends who he plays with so hopefully he’s positioned to succeed.
From these clips and other scouting reports, he kinda reminds me of Radulov a bit. Is that a fair comparison?
I could see that for sure...he has a mix of a couple players I would say...some Laine, Nash, etc...
He's a lock in top 5 for me at tis point question is top 3 or not, will likely depend on team
Bet he goes 3
cant decide between this guy and shane wright. i dont see the critism against this guy because his strengths more than make up for it. but smart players are always better so i can see shane wright being a safe choice for mtl
There's a lot of debate about this right now! Especially after TSN ranked Slafkovsky higher. But personally I think Wright goes 1st to Montreal.
@@nhldraftpros thats exactly why im watching these highlights hahaha, from being a fan of montreal for so long and them getting small forwards, im just very intrigued by Slaf but yes, wright would be the best move
@@nhldraftpros so sorry...juraj was 1 lol
Welcome to the NJ Devils!!
Would look nice in a Devils jersey!
great content.. you did Noah Ostlund ?
Not yet! Will definitely have a video on him in the near future tho!

Great work man !

Now when you look at his play at the WM2022, he is definitely #2 top pick!
Absolutely!
Don't be surprise if he gets picked 1st overall .
❤excellence service 10:21 😊
For me, he should be the #1 pick. Not even close.
Liking your channel so far! Let's get a Kemell video in!
Thank you! Kemell will be released on weekend!
Bet, I'm excited! I'm hoping the sabres pick him up in the draft!
@@victorswiatkowski2506 The Sabres have some nice young talent!
@@victorswiatkowski2506 Can't wait for you to see my Miroshnichenko scouting report. He is one of the most talented prospects in this draft!
Welcome to Montréal
@0:15 absurd ….yet, accurate .
Montréal Canadiens or New-Jersey Devils?
Not sure...he's making a case for 1st! But Wright will most likely go to Montreal.
@@nhldraftpros ...and Montréal likely have Wright😉
liked n sub'd ,good work
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Awesome stuff, man! Came looking for info on these upcoming 1st rounders.
Think they'll be late round(5-7) gems in the draft?
Yeah! After draft I may add some gems that went too late!
If his highlights are a five foot pass at the blue line and dumping it in then I’d be worried as a fan that the Habs reached.
And what do you think of the pick NOW ?!
@@moviestoshare813
Easy psycho. 🤡
He will be a good 3rd liner.
Reminds me of Mikko Rantanen
Mckeens having him at 7 scares me
his playstyle looks like Stutzle
Only time will tell. It's I'm hearing mixed reviews from Montreal fans...some like Slafkovsky and some would have preferred Wright.
So, is the reason that the "experts" call this upcoming draft weak, because the talent isn't there, or is it because covid screwed everything up so bad for sports, that the players weren't able to fully be on display?
I think that some players just need more time to develop to see what their potential could be and covid definitely affected some draft rankings.
Who said that? It’s been pretty well known that this years draft is incredibly deep. The criticism is that there’s no generational talents like a Crosby, McDavid, Matthew’s, or like next years duo in Bedard/Michkov, but this draft has an incredible talent pool, better than most years.
This draft is deep and i think team don''t have full knowledge of covid.
@@Tanmoy49 Next years draft will have lots of amazing players available!
Is he any physical?
Yeah, he uses his body. Not a punishing kind of player, but doesn't shy away from the physical stuff.
Reminds me Jagr!
...I am not a profesional and I am not a statistics guy.
Brad Lambert is French now :p
And Hintz is German! These pronunciations are killing me :p
@@AlexAnteroLammikko I'm working on those pronunciations! Thanks!
@@nhldraftpros Ahh no biggie dude, just having some fun. Good video though.
I hope the Montreal Canadiens will pick him over Shane Wright
He would be an ideal player for the Krakens
He would be my choice for first pick. Not shane wright. I would make Shane 3rd pick or even 4th.
Interesting...any particular reason you see Wright sliding down that low?
@@Weizboy I like your analysis! Thanks for input!

Ok NJ let’s get Zacha 2.0
no no no no no no no :( lol
In case he will be from Canada, he will be nr.1 on draft. But he is only a Slovakian...
He was #1 anyway. 😄
Sweep shot. Not a ture wrister. But nice to see a slap shot. But he's playing a meh league. Dach fooled alot of people.
Meh league? Liiga is higher caliber than junior hockey...
He’s be an absolute weapon with Jack Hughes or N1co Hischier 😈
Can't go wrong with either of those 2 beauties as your centreman!
just please not Buffalo
BOOM
I'm not impressed...still better to draft Wright!
No one saw him going first overall!
WTF are you talking about? lol
@@jasper2836 I like the Slovakian Jagr!
