Speaking of a city like Milan. When we get closer to the 2026 Winter Olympics, could we get some videos on some specific things to know for those that maybe looking to attend that event? Also, do you know anything about Cortina where events like skiing will be taking place?
I wouldn't go to Andalusia without visiting Cordoba, with its historic Mezquita-Catedral and the white-washed Old World charm. There are little surprises around almost every corner.
Yes! Especially since the train stops there between Madrid and Granada or Seville anyway! I did it as a day trip when I went to Spain last year and regretted not allotting more time there. The Mezquita is not to be missed and the old city is beautiful.
A little advice for my well behaved cousins from across the pond 😂🇬🇧: catch that 6hr train vs short flight because you’ll have a nice view from big train window to see all the towns, villages and landscape along the way and possibly have genuine interaction with natives too or comfortably work from big train table or nap. You’ll only lose in reality couple of hours since trains can be caught from city centre 15 mins before departure whilst international flight need you to arrive 2hrs prior and getting out and reaching city after landing could be another 2hrs 🧐
Absolutelly agree. And the check in check out and TSA procedures on top of the cost and time to get to and from the airport to the city center are not needed. Easy to find hotels/motels/AIRBNB around Central Rail Stations is easy. And trains in Europe are "on time" - on intercity trains - super high speeds is often available.
Absolutely. You also need to factor in flight delays and/or inconvenience caused by baggage size given the standardization since September 2024. I saw quite a few people being asked to check (and pay) their carry on bags).
We travelled led by train from Pompeii to Naples then Florence, Pisa and Venice. We’d been to a Rome several times so we didn’t include that. The train from Florence to Venice was particularly picturesque.
Hello! I am Italian, and that's why I have been able to visit many places throughout Europe. If I can recommend a new itinerary, Northern France and especially Normandy are destinations not to be missed. Go and see Mont Saint-Michel! Beautiful travel video!
Not very often I see someone proposing a sensible itinerary, so this was pretty refreshing. I would consider these the most one should pack into this amount of time. In fact, consider doing slightly less to enjoy it even more.
Great ideas. If you’re fortunate enough to have more PTO at your job, I recommend expanding these itineraries to 2-3 weeks each. I try and go on 2 European trips a year for 2-3 weeks at a time and it is so much nicer to have a more relaxed trip than cramming a lot of things into a shorter amount of time.
My sentiments exactly. Like you, I do 2 Europe trips every year too and I spend 2-3 weeks on each. It's just more enjoyable to slow down and enjoy the locations. You get back home feeling refreshed. Cramming so much into 10 days would be stressful and you'd return home needing time to recover from your vacation. Defeats the point of the vacation, doesn't it? But if one doesn't have enough PTO from work, I guess they'll have to cram.
I am with you on Italy and Croatia. I spent 30 days in Croatia in 2022 and 1 week in 23. I have been to most of the places you mentioned about Italy. Italy is very easy to get around than Croatia. There isn’t much of a train network in Croatia. I got around on the ferries which are nice and on time.
@ I have Verizon and it includes a new travel plan with unlimited GB and the phone in europe is just like in USA. I just spent 8 weeks in Europe / on cruise and the only cost was $13 per month to upgrade. I will go back to my old plan now!
Speaking as somebody from England who has been fortunate to travel a lot in Europe and internationally, your right Italy is the best. But the rest of Europe and the world is also amazing. Great channel, came for some info on a new bag and stayed, thanks.
Come to Asia , there are China Japan. South Korea and Taiwan in the north and Thailand. Malaysia. Singapore. Philippines and Indonesia in the south , you can have a lot of fun in Asian countries
Thank you for this video. Italy is my favorite! I am leaving soon for Portugal and Spain. Just want to say that I did the same road trip. Utah is absolutely beautiful.
I have actually done almost 3 complete itineraries that you suggested (Northern Italy, Rome to Amalfi coast, and Spain). I definitely agree that is better to do it this way! Awesome video 😊
Great ideas. My wife and I did the Northern Italy route last October with an added 3 nights up in the Dolomites by car from Venice. Thanks for sharing.
Would you recommend Dolomites in November? Was really looking forward to planning but I’m reading it’s not the best time since places are closing down.
@@Graycee92 Yes, early November may be in that transition between Fall and waiting for enough snow to start ski season. But you would probably see some of the first snow falls which would be nice. We were there last Oct 8-10 and the weather was great - cool mornings and sunny afternoons in the upper 60s. We based in Ortisei where we could take gondolas North and South to great alpine meadows. If the gondolas stay open in November then this would be beautiful.
Great video. We moved to Spain this year and have been doing our trips as 9 day in focused areas (with a toddler). Eastern Europe is one I’m planning and you hit the places on my radar.
Thank you for sharing such detailed and beautiful videos! It’s evident these must be a lot of work to make - so just wanted to say they’re very helpful and much appreciated! Safe travels!
Took my family (2 adults & 2 teens) on 10 day trip. Flew to Katowice, stopped 2 nights Krakow (can visit Auschwitz & Salt Mines, both in 1 day), 1 night in Slovakia, Banska Stiavnica (with awesome mini water park) on way to Budapest for 2 nights. Onto Bratislava for one night, Short drive to spend a day in Vienna then stopping 1 night on Czech border on way to Prague. 1 night in Prague, 1 night in Wrocław then back to Katowice to fly home. Did it on a budget, our advantage is we already live in Europe (UK). Flight was £80 each, we booked apartments & Air BnB, most expensive Krakow £65 per night, others were £35 to £50 per night for a family of 4. Car hire was less than £200. Forget the trains and plains, drive and you see so much more.
My biggest excuse for not going ( over the pond has always been the flight and what to see) thank you for this we are starting with a baby step, end of April to Ireland! Hope to try some of your tour ideas in the future!
Nice list. As an expat living in Bavaria for over 30 years, I would substitute Prien am Chiemsee (Herrenchiemsee Castle) for Neuschwanstein & Kraków for Prague (which I visit several times a year, although it usually smells like a sewer).
I really want to see Slovenia, and your video didn't help me not want to see Slovenia! :) I've been to Budapest a bunch of times, and you really nailed the high points. The public transit is unbelievably easy. One little point that I'd like to suggest for your next trip to Budapest. Try some of the Gyros you can buy in the little shops. They're the best I've ever had and I wish I could get something close to them in the states.
In October I am going to fly to Paris, I will use interrail pass and see how many countries I can visit, staying in hostels and budget I less than €800 and I am targeting 7 countries. Wish me luck 🤞🇮🇪
We are so blessed and unbelievably grateful. I will tell you it took many years of work to get to where we are, but believe me, anyone can make it happen! Thanks for watching and happy travels.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback! This was a fun one to make. Let us know if there's something in particular or certain types of trips you'd like to see.
It's really interesting to see that you gave 7 amazing options for a 10 day itinerary to europe. In Croatia, Split and Dubrovnik are also great places to visit as well. Great video🙂we loved it.
Dont go to: Dubrovnik, Venice, Barcelona.....this is not Europe, its Disneyland and hopelessly overcrowded. If you want visit Europe go to the capital cities, then visit one or two lesser known towns where people live their ordinary lives and you will be surprised, how relaxed and laid back europeans are.
Thank you for a great video! Dam it, my wife and I have been traveling once a year in Europe in the past 10 yrs which a trip took around 10 - 12 days. And we have around 80-90% of itinerary alike yours! Awesome!
Great video. I love the thought you put into these trips, trying to see as much as possible while still enjoying it along the way in the most efficient way. For the Positano trip, I would suggest taking the ferry from Sorrento. It’s likely shorter, and you get to see the entire coastline which is a jaw dropping experience. And if you leave at night, you’ll get to see the entire coastline lit up which is also stunning
I have had few of your itinerary. I generally travelled for 12 nights in April ( that's the maximum leave that i can get from my employer) . In 2023, I covered Munich, Salzburg, Hall Stat, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Prague. In 2024, i covered Rome, Assissi, Florence, Rovinj ( Croatia) and Venice.
Outstanding video… We just got back from eight days in Norway. Highly recommended! We are looking forward to the Christmas markets in December. Probably Vienna and Prague. Thanks for all the work you do on your content!
And I would love to see more about travel in Eastern Europe. Budapest was mentioned, but the Baltics and Ukraine are amazing, including the foodie scene in Lviv and the Karpaty (Carpathians).
Thank you for the highlights here and trip ideas. I would like to know the riad you showed in the video at 16:17. Did you get a chance to see the Blue Gate in Fes?
That's great to hear! I even found some discount when buying the train ticket. It’s always good to look out for deals that can make travel more affordable.❤
Europe always surprises, each country, even each region, is a different world. I am Spanish and if I had to recommend only one country it would be Italy. Three cities, Paris, London and Barcelona, three regions, Tuscany, Andalusia and the Loire Valley. But Europe is much more, the Danubuo, the fjords, the Greek islands, the alps....fortunately or unfortunately we are a continent where history, monuments, art, cultural and geographical diversity are more concentrated than nowhere else in the world
Just back from a 7 night trip to Portugal, starting in Porto, then onto Lisbon and finishing in Faro - great trip - small and big cities and then a small marina town thats interesting too
Bratislava maybe worked out for others, but I was nearly stranded there years ago as a foreign student. Planned on a little bit of information so all I can say is don't get bit by chance.
Oh wow, I have had very similar trips to both of your Italian, your Spain and Croatian ones. And this August I am going to Prague and Budapest as part of a longer European vacation (I cannot wait). I can never get enough of Rome, Seville or Granada, and Plitvice Lakes are something everyone needs to see before they die. The accommodation at Plitvice Lakes is basic and probably a remnant of the communist era, but fun all the same. I have also spent a couple of weeks in beautiful Istria and the Cinque Terre - amazing, especially if you have your own vehicle in Istria. We stayed in a small village called Fiorini and travelled out every day on the peninsular. An afternoon/ evening meal in Rovinj next to the road leading up to the church and watching bridal parties walk up to the top for the weddings, and then back down again was so entertaining. The food was great and the sunset was stunning. Thank you both for your awesome RUclips channel. It is both informative and inspirational.
Prague is amazing! Add some other towns to Northern Italy like Emilia-Romagna. Heading to Vienna and Bratislava in May, thanks for the tips. Found your channel recently and am learning a lot! Thanks. Safe and happy travels.
This was great. We are planning our next trip to Europe and it will be about 10 days. Please do more itineraries like this. Maybe for France or the Netherlands?
For what it's worth, my desired France trip is: Paris - Rouen - Mont St Michel - Amboise - Versailles (with short 1-2 hour detours to Caen, Giverny, Tours)
the program ideas for an extended week still seem packed to me - considering that traveling from North America eastwards to Europe comes with jet lag problems and you will need an day to adjust and where you are not fit for heavy sight seeings. Europeans would plan 2 weeks for those trips and would not even have the jet lag issue.
Yes I'd still say moving at a fair pace. More time is certainly ideal, but these worked well for us when we didn't have that luxury. However, not moving at a breakneck, 7 cities in 7 days kind of pace.
Could be more helpful advice on how to see the most expensive and overtouristed parts of Italy. Much better advice on Bavaria. Use the train system throughout Bavarian using the amazingly valuable Bayernticket. 100% on Vienna, Bratislava and Salzburg. Beware overtouristed Hallstatt Prague and Budapest makes a great trip as described Brilliantly adds the trip to Marrakesh to an excellent trip to Spain. Can’t comment on Croatia/Slovenia - on my wish list. Great video
Thank you for these inspirational videos. Can you please provide details on where you went for the flamenco performance that you labeled as top 3 musical experience?
You videos have been so helpful. I am taking my family of four that includes my daughts 12 and 11 on a 37-day trip beginning in London and going to Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Porto. The only thing I am second guessing are some of the tours. Since we are only in Venice 3 nights I am on the fence about taking the Legendary Venice St. Mark's Basilica with Terrace Access & Doge's Palace that starts at 8 AM. Am I better off getting skip the lines for both places and exploring alone or is the tour worth it? Thanks for any insight.
I am pro 'skip the line' anywhere that gets busy. And St. Mark's gets incredibly busy. I love local guides and authentic experiences, but I am almost always an 'explore alone' kind of person for sites like these. However, the Doge's Palace Secret Itineraries Tour is fun and intimate (as they cap the group sizes) and I would pay to do it again.
This was great! I am planning a trip to Spain for 10 days and I am going to Madrid, Seville, Valencia, and Barcelona. I am still working the logistics of it. Morocco sounds like a great idea. I will be traveling solo. Any thoughts/tips about traveling in Marrakesh solo?
I went to Morocco and Spain for 2 1/2 weeks last May, so I can give some advice, if you'd like. 😊 One good way to save time is to fly into and out of different airports. For me, the cost was no different. I flew into Marrakech, and, after sightseeing on my own for a day in the city, I took the 3-day Marrakech-Sahara-Fez tour I booked using Viator (one way, so I wouldn’t be backtracking), and then I visited Chefchaouen for a lovely morning before taking another bus to Tangier to get on a ferry to cross the Strait of Gibraltar. If you have less time, though, you could always spend a day in Marrakech, do a one-day desert trip (not all the way to the Sahara, but you can at least have a camel ride), and then fly to Seville. There are flights from there to Seville on some days of the week, but not all (at least last year). Five days in Andalucía was not enough (for me), but it was possible to see the main sights in Seville, the Mosque-Cathedral in Córdoba, and the Alhambra and other main sights in Granada. No time for Ronda, though. 😢 It is easy to find bus tickets between the different cities using Omio. Then, I took the train to Madrid, where I spent another five days (Madrid historical sites and museums for 2 days, then Toledo, El Escorial, and Segovia). Then, I flew home straight from MAD. Honestly, I thought 5 days in Andalucía and 5 in Madrid would be enough, but there is SO much to see and experience in both of these regions. I would wholeheartedly recommend focusing in on just one or two regions at most per trip, since Spain is such a diverse country with so much culture and so many amazing sights in each one of its regions. ❤ I hope there was something helpful in all of that. 😅 Good luck with your trip planning! I am going to Barcelona this summer, myself, and very excited! 😁
In europe sometimes they make lot of swaps, normally they would not accept something that matter to you but when they make swaps it's different. Sometimes the things that they swap is not meant for you and vs things that is not really "meant" for you or at this time or for consuming or correctly. When I'll go back me I'll bring lot of things, but very nice ones from my choice and that I'll buy and for gifts.
I'd say Amalfi Coast is a bucket list place for most travel addicts out there! Italy does have some hidden restaurants out there not found on Google maps. Somebody has to make it known out there in an APP!
Thanks for watching! To be honest, they are all roughly the same. We typically go XNA > ORD and then catch the big flight from there. If you can get ORD > Rome, that will be 2 flights. For some of these, 3 flights is probable. Esp. Croatia.
Wouldn't go anywhere near Naples at the moment. The super volcano Campi Flegrei is rumbling at the moment and they're trying to work out an evacuation plan.
There are a lot of great places to visit in Europe in the September and October timeframe. Avoid the peak summer crowds, prices tend to be lower, and the weather is still (mostly) really nice.
The itineraries are good, but 10 days is very few to see all the beauty of a country/region with time. I prefer either sightseeing quickly a big part of it or stay in a single city/region to discover it properly.
AAAAAALMOST included a whole 10 days in the Dalmatian coast as well. Split > Hvar > Korcula > Dubrovnik. Only kept one Croatia itinerary for this video, but who knows - will include in the future? Did I miss any?
Great video. You mention that you take separate flights to get to a destination then return from another city. Doesn't that cost more than buying round trip? Don't you have to show a return ticket at customs? I'm from an island in BC so very expensive to go places
We travel around Europe without rushing. We don't spend excessively, but we don't regret anything either. We make videos and enjoy local cuisine and beautiful views. Greetings - "On the edge of the highway" team
Good Video! Random question: what Travel Pants to you mostly use? I will be in Southern Italy in May and I think I want a new pear of pants - thanks :)
I think the issue with the short European trips is the price of the flights. I'm trying to move into the "slow travel" process, one flight, stay there for a few months.
Check out this 90min deep dive workshop to save $1,000 on your next trip to Europe: bit.ly/europe_for_less

Bratislava maybe worked out for others, but I was nearly stranded there years ago as a foreign student. Planned on a little bit of information so all I can say is don't get bit by chance.
One of the best we found in youtube. Thanks so much. Precise. Direct. No BS. Just great 🇧🇷
Oh wow, I have had very similar trips to both of your Italian, your Spain and Croatian ones.
Really excellent video! I don’t speak the other languages, but it sounded like your pronunciation of all the cities was spot on!!!
The German ones were quite bad
@@Hi-fs2vn it sounded great to me!
@@merrillundgren1790 do you speak German?
Prague is amazing! Add some other towns to Northern Italy like Emilia-Romagna. Heading to Vienna and Bratislava in May, thanks for the tips. Found your channel recently and am learning a lot! Thanks. Safe and happy travels.
LOVE Emilia-Romagna and that whole area. Also Bologna. Thanks for watching!!
I was in Bratislava and Vienna for a few weeks last April/May. Bring a raincoat. :)
Well done, concise and full of relevant suggestions.
Great list. Been to all except Northern Italy and Bavaria which will be doing this October.
I would recommend immersive translate to tourists. It will work for translation since it has incredible services
We did 14 days with a carry on. France, Belgium, Germany, and Italy. 3 trains and 1 flight in Europe.
Plan your next trip and don’t forget to purchase an eSIM! 😎
Such an amazing comprehensive video!
the program ideas for an extended week still seem packed to me - considering that traveling from North America eastwards to Europe comes with jet lag problems and you will need an day to adjust and where you are not fit for heavy sight seeings.
Beware overtouristed Hallstatt
Prague and Budapest makes a great trip as described
Brilliantly adds the trip to Marrakesh to an excellent trip to Spain.
Can’t comment on Croatia/Slovenia - on my wish list.
Great video
I’ve been to several of these cities but look forward to visiting the spots you recommend. Thanks!
Thank you for these inspirational videos. Can you please provide details on where you went for the flamenco performance that you labeled as top 3 musical experience?
Like the new Mic!!! Love your content!!
Thanks for that. We shall keep it on the itinerary. Now to decide on the San G and Pisa tour. LOL@@awaytogether
I agree to all trip ideas but the no 3 trip idea i will tweak it and visit salzburg because its only 2 hours away from munich by train
You can also mention that Morocco is in Africa , even though very close to Europe.
Thanks for the recommendations
make more of this. Awesome video!!
After I read the Sun Also Rises I always wanted to visit San Sebastian in Spain.
I really liked this video! Thank you Nik!
I hope there was something helpful in all of that. 😅 Good luck with your trip planning! I am going to Barcelona this summer, myself, and very excited! 😁
Excellent video! There are some great ideas here. Thank you. 🙂
Loved the video and watching you guys. Which be the easiest to do from XNA (Bentonville😀)?
Thanks for watching! To be honest, they are all roughly the same. We typically go XNA > ORD and then catch the big flight from there. If you can get ORD > Rome, that will be 2 flights. For some of these, 3 flights is probable. Esp. Croatia.
Wouldn't go anywhere near Naples at the moment. The super volcano Campi Flegrei is rumbling at the moment and they're trying to work out an evacuation plan.
When do you recommend these trips season wise?
They all look great. Thanks for posting this.
Excellent video! Love the ideas. Thank you. 🙂
Thank you for sharing this information! What is the name of the Restaurant in Trastevere Rome that you want to go back to?
~Jeannine
Also, when in Croatia, please visit Hvar or some other islands/peninsulas at the Dalmatian coast line. IMHO the best the country has to offer.
AAAAAALMOST included a whole 10 days in the Dalmatian coast as well. Split > Hvar > Korcula > Dubrovnik. Only kept one Croatia itinerary for this video, but who knows - will include in the future? Did I miss any?
You're definitely right 🎉
You should come to travel to Turkey. I am sure you'll spend good times here through your trip.
Nope ! Liverpool and Manchester! Love those cities
Awesome suggestions!!!
Did a 15 day Rome > Florence > Venice > Rome and it was awesome.
Great trips 🙌🏼 we've already made a few trips like this on our channel 🌎
Great video. You mention that you take separate flights to get to a destination then return from another city. Doesn't that cost more than buying round trip? Don't you have to show a return ticket at customs? I'm from an island in BC so very expensive to go places
Done! Part 2 please 🙏
We travel around Europe without rushing. We don't spend excessively, but we don't regret anything either. We make videos and enjoy local cuisine and beautiful views. Greetings - "On the edge of the highway" team
You’re an adorable family! ❤
Good Video! Random question: what Travel Pants to you mostly use? I will be in Southern Italy in May and I think I want a new pear of pants - thanks :)
I want to go to Pompeii in Italy
I think the issue with the short European trips is the price of the flights. I'm trying to move into the "slow travel" process, one flight, stay there for a few months.
