Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

It's part of an entirely different ball game called TANTRA. which means System. if u have a system for some thing it has to have a mechanism it's called Yantra which means Machine/tool. if you have a machine u have to have a formula to it which is known as MANTRA. now try to wrap your head around it. It's neurological programming to improve your life its not mindless worshipping of a statue in hope o getting a boon. Cheers

Listening about the ten arms and the eleventh being the body itself of the image of Maa Durga , One’s mind is drawn to the theory of 11 dimensions of the strings which are indicative of the sum , substance and substrate of all that exists as matter by the proponents of Quantum theory , and with Shakti ( energy) added to it appears to match the iconography of the image so eloquently explained by Swamiji

I agree with just about everything said here. On top of all that, he is a brilliant, eloquent speaker, improvising his message in the moment as if he’s plugged into some cosmic information source (which is probably simply his own mind!) He’s even graceful in his physical motions which add so much to his ability to communicate these deep ideas

Peace and blessings to all... Swamiji talks have enlightened me and helped me to achieve even deeper awareness of my Self. However, I find it so difficult to remain in my True Self for long. My ego/Self takes over to put me in my place. The Ashtavakra has freed me so I now see my Witness/Self, what blissful peace! Then back to body consciousness and its limitations. I do not wish to go back and forth, but I do. Am I subject to the unfolding evolution held in time?
