Shraddha (faith, expressed in the English language) is a very important virtue to have in the Scriptures and in the Guru, without which you cannot progress. Intellect here does not mean intelligence, but a special knowledge, that what the Scriptures, Guru and oneself is expressing, is nothing but the one Reality, that one Truth.... Dwell on it and see that connection...OM

I bow to the divinity in you, Swamiji. One story that I have read repeatedly and every time I cry like a child, with tears blinding my eyes, it is the story of Girish Ghosh and his relationship with Sri Ramakrishna. As I write this, I don't regret a bit the tears you have brought to my eyes. I am deeply devoted to Sri Shiridi Baba who has given me many experiences and from his life too I know many who were transformed like Girish. Faith and surrender to the guru is sufficient, but it has to be of the kind that Girish had, and, that's not very easy to get!!
Those who have the ears will cry -- others will think we are mad.

This was indeed like watching a Kurosawa or Fellini or Satyajit Ray Opus. Powerfully narrated by Swami Sarvapriyanand this story of Girish Ghosh a dramatis personae evoked many memories. I had heard about him and passed by his Star Theater in north Calcutta a hundred times in 1960s and 1970s but I was ignorant of exploits of Girish Ghosh. Outstanding Discourse.

I sailed on black black sea
and then I saw a shimmering light,
I oared all strength for thee
and when I reached at your shore,
Oh! What a wonderful sight to see,
I saw my childhood me, there stood,
smiling, healed, holding a candle for me!
And he said, come, let me lead your way
and he held my hand, so warm and soft,
he walked me through mountain, green grass and pine,
We took a memory walk o mine,
He took me to a temple old,
In there a lamp was lit by him,
and he merged in idol that was there,
An idol, of me, I sat so still.
The idol opened his eyes and smiled,
and took me in his arms o wide!
and took my misery, anger and lust,
Took my greed and all last time!
I fell down soft, like a cloth nude nude!
I was in love, with all for time,
And then I realised, O God! Its you,
You have come to love this wretched I was!
And then all was light light love!
Oh what an ecstacy, I feel for you,
