You are an absolute genius, I have listened to a lot of spiritual teaching to be mindful and become present, but I would always force myself to stop thinking which like you said just causes more thinking, I started to apply these two steps into my daily life, and I feel so free and happy, just flowing with life, as life💗bless you always🙏🏼
Mind thrives on your attention and interest. As long as it continues to take these two things from you, it will continue to perpetuate and relevant. It will continue to pull you into identification and suffering. Attention and interest are the live force for mind. Mind will always come with a story regarding unsatisfied past or fear regarding future. Build a sense of space between you and thoughts . Understand that you are not your mind. Living life vs living in mind what life should be. As long as you live in the mind u will continue to suffer. Don't give importance to every single thought what mind says. Even if u say that I want to get rid off excessive thoughts. Its also an interest. Just realise that you are not your mind. Let your thoughts arise. Just watch them without judging them like you watch cars passing on the road nd you don't judge those cars. Whether it's good or bad. Become a watcher not a thinker. Thoughts will slowly subside.

Amazing thank you!! I've been searching for someone that can really dissect this mind attack thing!! I recently witnessed some obsessive thoughts pattern and I began contemplating why these thoughts in particular were of such interest to me (which of course only perpetuated them further for a while). I found that I was filling the spaciousness with these thoughts because my ego personality was searching for a sense of worth outside of myself. Once I came to this revelation and worked through some past stuff, my interest dissolved as did the thought pattern. I'm sure it doesn't have to be that complicated haha but i felt inspired to share my experiences. Thanks for your wisdom xx
It's our choice what we want to focus on, what we want to believe in and what kind of thoughts do we allow ourselves to have 🌸 things have meaning only when we give meaning to them!

After this, I'm gonna do what you suggest and do it consistently. Thank you. This is an issue for a lot of people, so much so that there are whole books on it - they call it "Intrusive Thoughts". I've been getting into self inquiry over the last few months, but particularly properly over the last month. Recently though the depression that I have previously experienced has been coming up and it is hard to self inquire. I just feel more empty. I try to do my best with self inquiry but the depression is getting more intense and the though stories are increasing. I don't feel I have control over my attention, but I am trying my best and I'll see what happens.
That;'s actually the best attitude to have towards this process. Do your best and leave the rest to life. Trust. No matter how intense the depression may be, it is observed. What is it that is aware of it? Keep taking attention to that.
