For FC3 planes you need to turn off your engines first (and letting them wind down first I believe) before rearming
It's been said that the Iraqi A.F. was so scared of the Tomcat that if they even suspected one was in the air they would abort missions.

AIM-9s & M61A1s seemed to work just fine. I only remember reading that the Iranians had trouble with AIM-7s on the Tomcat.
That is true. They lost over 130 fighters to Iranian Tomcats, that they didn't want to tangle with U.S. ones
I vaguely remember a documentary about irans tomcats and them not being able to get parts due to an embargo, so they set up a really elaborate smuggling ring in the US to get parts out piece meal.
I could be massively wrong and if i am hopefully someone will be along to put the facts but its a cool story.
The smuggling ring *could* be true.
I remember scuttlebutt about US service members being arrested for selling F-14 parts.
I didn't investigate the veracity of the rumor since, at the time, all I cared about was liberty.
Remember Radar disassembling and mailing home a Jeep on M*A*S*H?
You're correct, Iran did smuggle F14 parts for a while, it's the reason the remaining F14's that were mothballed were destroyed, to prevent it from happening again. The Iranians love the F14 so much, that even after they were no longer able to get parts for the aircraft, they started designing and building their own in country. Reportedly they've recently started a modernization program using indigenous hardware, despite the fact that they now have much more modern aircraft.

After watching this video it made me think of him, and he could be an awesome "aggressor" pilot going against the GR group, or however it could happen. He was a RIO in a F-14, and plays DCS. His channel is not centered around him playing DCS, but he does it from time to time. Just a thought. Love the videos GR makes, always entertaining.
