As always, thank you so much for your video!! As a Deaf world language teacher, my district audiologist helped me to get this for work. I can point at a student when they raise the hand, place it on a desk during group work, and use it as a lapel for one-on-one speaking. I sometimes hide it around the room during exams to make sure kids aren’t talking. It’s amazing, and I only wish I had more.

Doctor Clifff, You are the first professional to mention the flaw with the two-way audio feature! I have had this issue w my previous Phonak marvel devices and was hoping it would be resolved in my new Lumity. I use my hearing aids for phone calls- a lot! This two-way flaw has me shifting to other devices for calls and meetings. This is a big disappointment. I love the new capability of the Lumity to have two Bluetooth connections. My smartphone and my computer. I hope you have reported back to Phonak about the two-way flaw. It would seem that they could remedy this issue via software update.

I have a Roger Pen In that I'm going to upgrade soon.
Remember the times it was common to use phonak assistive devices with other hearing aids like widex and it was great because phonak makes good assistve stuff. At that time it was a fm system with clip on phonak receivers and a oticon transmitter for my widex heating aids.
I have the Phonak Audéo Lumity 50 RT and attend 4-6 small meetings every month. I have been considering getting a Roger device. I’m not sure about the ports on my laptop. Zoom streaming seems good most of the time. I keep changing my mind on what device to buy. The Roger ON IN sounds like a great device but the I’m not sure I will use it enough to justify the cost. I’m going to have to think about this for awhile.
My wife has the Roger On for her cochlear implant. She is on her second device and it's developed the same problem as the first device. The problem she's having is, she can't turn the device off. So it continues to transmit, when the the slide switch is in the off position. So I end up taking the device out to the barn, out of range and let it deplete the battery. I wish the switch actually disconnected the battery, but it's probably a soft on/off through the circuitry. We're at a point, past warranty, and don't want to purchase another device that may have the same issues as the last two. I would like to know if other patients have had this same problem. Depleting the battery every time can't be good on the cells, but this is the only way to keep it from transmitting all the time.
I just got the Roger on V2 According to the app I put it on my phone I'm still not sure if it's the Roger In or not Because I just figure out how to pair it to my hearing aids I came in here looking How to pair it when it came across your video that's always a good video
In actuality, I and many others hoped to use the Roger on with our phones without cords, similar to the Roger pen, but it appears that Phonak has different plans. and hope that things will change as soon as possible
Is there an adapter to use for a television with no toslink optical input? I remember you talking about it on one of your videos, but I'm unable to find it. Thanks

My experience and it was confirmed by AB is that only one Roger On can be connected to my AB CI M at a time.
Does this system work for those who have CAPD (aka APD) or only for those that wear hearing aids?
Roger! Over and out LOL 😂 I have a Phonaks Audeo Roger On basic Wireless Bluetooth speaker to connect to my t.v. speaker automatically turned on my Phonaks Audeo Life Waterproof sweatproof hearing Aides and it worked great and I have surround sound system upgrade Blue Ray DVDs videos. And video games. All hooked up to my t.v. and I don't have to worry about bothering my next door neighbor with loud 🔊📢 stereo.

My audiologist recommended a Phoenal ctoss with Rogers On. My right ear is a bummer.
I read that the Rogers On would pair/work with other brands. Any idea if it wprks eith Unitron Moxi D 9 (4 year old) aids.
Thanks for this video Dr. Cliff, I am almost sold on getting the Roger on V2, however one thing really confuses. I'm really puzzled by Phonak's approach to phone calls. It just doesn't make sense that they expect us to carry around a cable for phone calls when out and about in 2023, especially after how convenient the wireless capabilities of the old Roger Select were. Have you discovered any workarounds with Roger On V2 regarding this issue please? Or have you heard any news from Phonak about a potential V3 that might address this issue soon?
Since the Phonak hearing aides and their related devices (e.g. Roger On or PartnerMic) use the same Bluetooth profile (HFP or A2DP) that the Kirkland hearing aides (made by Phonak) use, shouldn't it be possible to use these devices with my Kirkland hearing aides?
Is the Roger On V2 the same as the Roger ON iN?
I would like to buy the Roger On iN for my AB M90 CI. Do I need to buy anything else to be able to use this microphone with my CI? I asked a Phonak audiologist, and she told me I had to buy two aditional products, but according to this video, it is not necessarily to do so.
I have this model of Roger. My audiologist doesn't know...but does anyone here know if this device will work with airplane movie displays?

I have the same hearing aid and CROS you have, plus a Roger On iN mic. The iN mic was used to activate the Roger Direct receiver in my hearing aid. Roger Direct is nice to have. As an alternative to Roger Direct, I sometimes use a Roger Neckloop Receiver which connects through my hearing aid's T-coil. In some environments, though, turning on the T-coil picks up hum, buzzing, and other electromagnetic noise from a car or airplane I'm riding in, electric light dimmers, or any of a number of other sources. If that's too much of a nuisance, I can switch to using the Roger Direct receiver instead.

They do, I have one and you can use the Roger On IN.
when I set my hearing aids to silent, and then get a notification beep, my Audeo p90 hearing aids turn off my choice of silent. this is annoying and I believe it reflects on Phonaks's poor programing. also my Roger On picks up the loudest speakers not necessarily to whom I am try to listen. Annoying too.

I've tried it. I only think it would work with "classical" hearing loss. For me, it just doesn't manage to blend well enough with what I can hear so it's just worse. In fact, it just seems crippled by software and in my experience Phonak software is buggy and unreliable and even if the youtube reviews are good, long term life with phonak isn't great.
Somebody really needs to come up with a new way to brand and market Roger products. But I digress.
I use an original Roger On for Zoom and Teams meetings. Connected directly to laptop via USB (or the 3.5mm audio out if necessary, but USB or USB-C works flawlessly for me). Zoom and Teams allow me to use the Roger On device as the "speakers" and I use either my webcam's built-in mic or my higher/podcast-quality table microphone for that purpose.
Where they still miss here is the Bluetooth on phones. I'm not carrying a Roger On connected to my phone via cable just to use the Roger On microphone on calls when out and about. That's worse than ComPilot II on older Phonak aids. I wore my ComPilot for years and it had a decent microphone for calls that worked well enough even in noisy environments.
They had a solution - Roger Select with Bluetooth. But of course that doesn't work with the current hearing aid models with integrated Bluetooth. It's a technical challenge they could solve but choose not to.
Hey Erik, you make a great point! It's baffling that Phonak expects us to lug around a cable just to make a phone call in 2023, especially after the convenience of the old Roger Select's wireless capabilities. or they plan to solve it in a V3 in the future. I'm seriously considering getting Roger Select, especially if it means avoiding this inconvenience with Roger On V2.
I'm curious about your comment regarding Roger Select not working with new hearing aids that have integrated Bluetooth. Does that mean it only works with older models? I'm using the Phonak Life P90 by the way.
Also, have you found a good workaround for this phone call issue? I'd love to hear any solutions you've come across.
