To anyone wondering what to do with the p055b code. Change both oil pressure sensors. THERE ARE 2 OIL PRESSURE SENSORS! You have one under the Exhaust VVT Actuator, and there’s another oil pressure sensor behind the entire engine. If this doesn’t fix the problem, then the sensor that was put in is probably bad.
My Chevy has been having this problem for over a year. I keep getting the same code and I've changed the parts out at least 2 times now. I will try this out! Thanks so much, NO ONE has been able to figure this out. Question though, were you experiencing sputters at a red light? It's kind of like the auto/stop wants to kick it but it doesn't. Instead it just kinds of sputters/jerks briefly. Did that happen to you also?
My wife's malibu was sputtering and jerking. I replaced both variable valve timing solenoids (intake and exhaust) & the rocker arm control solenoid. It's not a bad job if the engine is cold. Clear the code and drive it for 45min.
My 2015 Impala is doing the exact same thing at a stop light, it sputters and then it doesn’t start. I have took it to the dealer several times since it’s under extended warranty. They can’t figure it out either. It’s like it works fine and then it doesn’t.
I'm having this same problem with my 2014 Chevy mailbu with 86k miles! Its giving the P055B code only though but also having the issues with the start/stop. I've changed the VVT solenoids but I'll now try replacing the oil pressure sensor and see if that helps🙏. I don't have to stop at a red light for very long and it cuts off and has trouble restarting. I've had it happen when letting off the breakes to push gas and it turns off and I almost got in a wreck because of this!
All I had was the p055b code and the start stop issues I replace both oil pressure sensors and then replaced the solenoids and it was good after that! If you already replaced the solenoids when you replace the sensors you should be good. I hope you got ac delco vvt solenoids
Hello, thank you for posting, my mother-in-law's car is having this same problem. Any chance you, or someone, could post the part numbers for the solenoids? I'd like to get these replaced for her :-) Thank you!!
@Hunter Lee I also have a start/stop problem with mine (2014 LS 2.5 104k mi) but with no codes. Did yours act like it tried to turn over and a little putt before the tach dropped to off?
@Hunter Lee I am experiencing the same exact problem with my 2015 Chevy Impala Auto Start Stop. It works fine sometimes and then I can get to a stoplight and it will sputter and then not start at all. I’ve taken it to the dealer several times, they have even kept it overnight and I’m still having this issue.
my malibu auto stops when i make a complete stop but once i take off again it will unlock and lock my car doors , why is that ? And another problem is when im driving normally my car will stop accelerating and will rev the engine if you try to press the gas peddle and then it goes away after like 3 seconds and then i can accelerate normally again …. What’s the issue with my chevy malibu ? if i can just take the auto stop option off that would be nice .
Problem with ? I have a Malibu 2015 that I fixed myself after 3 years of having mechanics throw parts at it. Now no check engine light nothing. Ima beast 🔧
Replaced both intake and exhaust vvt solenoids with ac delco, if after replacing the solenoids you still have the code you have to replace the oil pressure sensor
@@hunterlee2813 it’s nothing wrong with the engine it’s them sensors that goes bad I would get to changing all sensors and that rattling noise upon cold start is the crank sensor but these cars still make a noise when you start them like something loose by the them plastic intake and for the start and stop I just disconnect it g the connector is right there when you stick your hands to lift the hood it’s right there above the fan your check engine light will come on an your remote starter will not work but sure beats stopping all the time for no reason!

Is this fix still working? I’ve been having the issue with the auto stop for about a year and now it just threw the P055C code.
Still working! It will still do it once in a while but it's usually when I'm a little low on oil or due for a change

Po55b is the oil pressure sensor
@Ryan Mcintyre yes it is but the pressure to the top sensor is in relation to the vvt solenoids the bottom sensor is for the engine oil pressure
Where is the bottom sensor located?
@jaimeherrera3113 about half way up the block under the top sensor
Question.. how did you get rid of the ABS & the traction control light??
I replaced all 4 wheel bearings because the magnets were damaged that's the rings you see on the back side of the bearings

Tbh it’s a hit or miss with these engine and this issue … I didn’t change any of those sensors named in this video and previous video but I was having issues with the start stop not functioning properly but never got any codes
The dealership said the issue was due to bad fuel injectors
Had those changed it worked for a few days and then back again but this time it spit a misfire code
So I changed the bad ignition coil and the issue stopped
Mind you my Malibu reached 270k before it was wrecked but if that never happened I would still have that car driving bc I had recently rebuilt the transmission and the car never gave me any major mechanical problems
The only things I changed were the
intake solenoids
Oil control valve solenoids
Vacuum pump
Fuel Injectors
And one bad ignition coil
The first 3 in the list was due to following the oil % life and they never went bad again after I switched to changing the engine oil every 5k miles
I truly think that engine is good if maintenance is done correctly and as often as one can
Also I never did it but when I had the transmission rebuilt they recommended I due a transmission service every 30k or at least once a year so that’s my tip to anyone with the 2013-2015 Malibu in order to extend the life of the vehicle
