    You mentioned Poseidon's run when he screamed in pain. One of the current running fan theories is that he sounds like that because his pain is music to Odysseus's ears.

    Troy is perfect for Hermes,
    I mean, first, his name is actually Troy. Set him up for the role. His voice, of course, and that laugh. He’s also has a Hermes vibe of chaotic. I watched the guy who voices Ares react to the livestream. When we got to Dangerous, he told a story of how Troy apparently just arrived at the studio one day with a full baked chicken 😂

    Jorge sad in a TikTok that EPIC the musical is about Oddyseus embracing ruthlessness and we really see that in Different Beast.
    You said that Ody is finally learning the lesson Poseidon is trying to teach him but he littery says "Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves, and deep down I know this well" in Monster.
    Also during Dangerous he said "I'm gonna use ruthlessness. I plan to put an end to all the foolishness"
    The point of no return was when they left the Underworld.
    I also want to point out how he still wanted to reason with Poseidon and tried to make peace. Then he said "F it, vengance it is."
    There is still hope for Ody imo.

      @elequira5467 2 месяца назад +4

      I see your point, but honestly… You know how Tiresias said “I see you draw your final breath”?… I think he did. Right there at the end of “Get in the Water”. I think he’s truly a different person in “600 Strike”. I think he fully gave into the monster.

    • @Beatlesfanish
      @Beatlesfanish 2 месяца назад +3

      @@elequira5467 Fair point. Right then and there he really did go monster mode 100%. I think the next step in Ody's journey will be learning to embrace ruthlessness without being consumed by it.
      Without wanting to spoiler anything the suitors are about to have a bad time when the king returns. After that the final song is between Penelope and Oddyseus where he asks her if she can still love him dispite the hings he's done and the person he turned into no longer being "him".
      I believe the musical will end with her being like an anchor for him, preventing him from spiraling and keeping him grounded / human.

    I find it funny that this saga ends with “Next to my wife” and Penelope is actually the singer for the first song in the Ithaca Saga.

  • @zenithstrikerz1720
    @zenithstrikerz1720 2 месяца назад +14

    Poseidon really sat around Ithaca, waiting for Odysseus. He was missing for seven years but Poseidon knew Odysseus would eventually return home. He let him see his home, gave him false hope with the intention of shattering him completely. Unfortunately for Poseidon there’s nothing more dangerous then a man pushed into a corner on the verge of death. He had everything to lose and by this point Odysseus was sick of losing.

    Gonna say it again, favoirte part is when Posiodon takes back what he said about Ruthlesssnes being mercy.
    Although my other favoirte part of the song is when you said "Blocked your one way home." That was just beutiful the way he sang that. then again the whole song was pretty good. He did a pretty goood job singing out those hollers of pain as well.
    Also when the Monster theme plays just as Odeseus sais "your gonna call off that storm!" in that cold voice takes me back to a Diferant kind of beast when they captured and genicided the Sirens. I like to think deep down Odyseus was already needing something to lash out on and the sIRENS WERE WICKED ENOUGH AND close enough to Poseidon to fill that role when they did. but now he finaly got to put the big fish himself in his place. Not the last man who will face his wrath though. the Suitors are next and their fixing to be hunted by a man that wooped a god tier being.

    Calypso was cast away to the island by Zeus for siding with her father in the war with the titans. This was as much a punishment for her as it was Odysseus. She was given someone that would never be hers and Odysseus was not getting home after he had sacrificed everything to do so.

    • @lizlilliman3644

      It's amazing how in one song you change how you feel about Calypso.

    • @karutasilver
      @karutasilver 2 месяца назад +1

      Nah, you can be exiled and alone forever without trying to convince another person to love you when they clearly do not want to and tell you that. Also, she's being punished for something she did wrong. As far as I'm concerned, a criminal is not a victim for going to jail. Odys punishment was meant to be being kept from his wife, not having a god try to force herself on him. He's more a victim than she is. That's my opinion anyway.

    • @heirhead413
      @heirhead413 2 месяца назад +6

      @karutasilver She didn't really do anything wrong to get put on the island. Cronus started the beef with the gods, Atlas fought to maintain his position, and Calypso simply supported her dad.
      The fact that she wasn't killed and imprisoned in Tartarus like the Titans that actually fought and just imprisoned on an island means she probably didn't do much besides support, and the gods were just being petty like they usually are.
      It was very intentional for Zeus to send Odysseus to Calypso's island as punishment. The only reason he can't leave is because Calypso is there in the first place. If she didn't become obsessed with him she would let him go, and it wouldn't be a punishment. Zeus knows all this when he sends Odysseus there. Calypso also knows the only reason Odysseus is here is because he pissed off some god, which is why she doesn't let him go. If she did, he would just get killed by Poseidon or Zeus.
      The whole situation is meant to be torture for both of them, and Calypso didn't really do much to deserve eternal torment. The gods victimize Calypso so they can use her to victimize others.

    • @ChibiCherub
      @ChibiCherub 2 месяца назад +2

      @@karutasilver Youre a criminal for supporting your parent, whos fighting to maintain his position from those trying to usurp them??? Ody did a MULTITUDE of things wrong that are considered crimes by the gods.
      As far as epic calypso knows, all shes known is the island. Ody is the only person shes ever seen and ever been able to form a connection with. And shes DESPERATE for that companionship, love and connection.
      What she did was not ok, right or justifiable but pitiable and explainable.
      She mistook simple human moments of connection for love.

    • @karutasilver
      @karutasilver 2 месяца назад +2

      @ChibiCherub I mean, the gods punished people for all kinds of things. That was the thing. I'm not saying she should have been, but I can see how that would have been interpreted that way. I guess what I'm saying is that no matter what, it doesn't excuse her actions. Let me paint you a picture and you tell me if you still agree.
      A man living in 2024 is feeling trapped. He feels like divine intervention has a hold of him. He was raised in solitude, kept from any interaction with people. Abused by his parents. He's in his 40s and never had any friends. He goes to the same bar every night. For decades, no one talks to him, and at this point, even the bartender ignores him. One night, finally, some young woman finally sees him. She makes eye contact with him and even kinda smiles at him, at least, that's what it looks like. He tries talking to the girl, but she tells him she's not interested and has a boyfriend. She's probably lying, though, right? Or maybe she isn't, but maybe she'd be happier with the man. Either way, for whatever reason, she keeps going to that bar. And every night, he tries to talk to her. Eventually, fed up with her continually rejecting him, he follows her home. Becomes obsessed. He believes he even loves her. When she moves to a different town a few years later and disappears, he mourns that loss. Cries about how he wishes he didn't love her, but isn't sorry for feeling that way.
      Does that story make you feel the same way about the man as you do about Calypso? Just because someone sounds pretty and you understand why they exhibit predatory behavior doesn't make them any less a predator.

    1. 34:03 I wish my cries of agony can be as beautiful and melodic as Poseidon's. 🥰
    2. You've no idea how hard I was mentally cheering during that part too, I was like *"YEAHHH BEAT HIS @$$!!!!! 🗣️🔥🔥🔥"* It was a long time coming that's for sure. 😌
    Also- "Next to my wife"? Hardest comeback/line *ever.*
    3. I keep wondering what the aftermath of this is gonna be like, when Poseidon limps back home to heal his wounds and will eventually have to face his brothers once they find out what happened. Hades would probably try to console him, but I just know Zeus will be laughing his @$$ off at him getting beaten so badly by a mortal, lol.
    I remember Neal Illustrator posted in a community post a drawing she did of the two of them watching Poseidon getting stabbed from up in the clouds (and Zeus enjoying every second of it! 😆)
