This is not ok, you have switched to the one game you shouldn’t have. I like many others are very disappointed with you, but the vid was fire so keep up the good work👍🏼
Honestly I would love to see more. People severely underestimate how many Paladins fans are also Overwatch fans. Theres this weird weird idea that both communities hate each other but for the most part they're just one and the same. What do you think of the game so far? Edit: also, if you want to play Dva, she is an off-tank and should be played kind of like Raum. Three of the tanks, that being Dva, Winston (the monkey), and Hammond (the hamster), are called dive-tanks and are sort of like flanks 😁😁
@@alexandersveryown4760 yeah, but usually not the enemy teams bomb. I think he thought that dva was the bomb and that he could shoot the bomb to kill her.
You missed the most important point: in Overwatch you can switch heroes during the match at any time you're in the spawn room or dead (you do lose all ultimate charge when you do). This is why there is no loadout or talent, you don't need to customize because you can simply switch heroes whenever
I see the point, but customization and character changing are VERY different things and I honestly prefer the former as it allows for completely unique games, which in my experience is something OW was lacking when I was playing at least...
Tom A. I enjoy that when playing paladins but it makes it more fair when i play overwatch because i know what the enemy can do, rather than them having their own personal stats and cooldown times
@@quezmiz736 Well that depends on your definition of fairness, as you can literally always see exactly what your enemies are running... So I think its just more diverse and if thats not ideal for you then I see why you'd enjoy OW more. I dont.... I love how sometimes I even need to look at the enemies card loadout just to get an idea of what they're plying for as I feel like I've never seen that character being played that way.. Also, OW just kinda gives all its characters like one role and thats that, which I think can get pretty boring after a while. But thats just me
@@toma.5781 you finish your build on paladins and there's no way to change it back, so you are definitely locked on that. With OW you can swap characters for soft or even very hard counter plays at any moment. OW is definitely a game of counter play. Whenever people choose to pick a character and never change it (when you realize your team is losing), this is when things go south
@@RafaGuerraDJ Very much so but then in my experience at least, it leads to very similar teams/changes happening at very similar times of the game... so yea I think it's a cool concept but kinda limits itself
@@leonp.2171 It was Goats meta but it wasn't Goats comp. All the heroes played in Goats were very favorable, you just weren't forced to play all of them in that one specific way. Might have been my favorite meta to be honest.
Yes i've played both games an I mus say the damage the characters do on paladins Is insane a ying could easly delete a roadhog.... And ying Is a healer.
@@jaredsabatelli2459 jup same here. Most games i play use the same controls so figuring it out took only a couple minutes. not sure but maybe pc has different keys for most games? Only game ive had issues with that completely threw controlls around was ARK
@@Yaqins eh, kinda. It can take some time and a lot of hero’s have easy escape abilities like speed boost, cryo freeze, or just a shield. It is very useful if you are accurate and pull off the 18 shot combo. Shoot 6, roll, shoot six, use ult then immediately cancel, shoot six then you basically have your roll back so you could technically make it a 24 shot combo.
@@rngsmiles3979 it’s not that so much if they are graved then yes or standing still from ults or something but the main reason is because it has a wind up time and makes noise so enemy’s can react it’s not very good because at higher ranks soldier flank and take u by surprise with no sound q which is way better
Ok, from someone who plays OW I must say: Your game sense is actually pretty good, especially for a new player and you have pretty nice aim! If you actually learn more about OW, then you might get pretty far
I played 2 years at paladins(from 2016 to 2018), I was plat the first season, and next I left cause no one of my friends was playing it. I got one friend who let me know of overwatch, I for real missed overwatch in any way, never heard of it, when I watched a gameplay the first time, I said it was a huge mess of effects. I played the first time during summer holiday of 2018 I think, and I made the decision to buy it, first time doing comp, I got plat, with zen. Now, from a dude who played 2 years paladins and 2 years overwatch, I have to say, paladins seams more like a moba then an fps, in a "good" Way. You have cards, and the 3 hero abilities you can choose from. But, like moba, you cant choose other heroes, and I feel like it's like hots and lol together, you have trait from the cards, and you have items from the shop. I think people say it's similar, but they say it even for tf2, even tho I have much more fun with paladins, than that, just personal opinion. But, the juice of this comment is that, before playing overwatch with my hands, I learned with YT videos and research, so much, that when I played it, I was almost good as now, for sure I learned much more things like mercy super jump, ecc... But as the first time, I was better than my teammates. I feel like that, reading or watching stuff from that game, before joining, is an overall better experience ^^
Game sense is pretty bad actually he ran out in front of the entire enemy team multiple times. If he was up against better players he would have gotten punished far more often. But luckily he got away with it because bronze players.
Just to answer a few of your questions.... -there are Off-tanks and Main-tanks in this game, as well as off healers, main healers, and offensive/defensive DPS (damage role)! I don’t know what makes a main tank a main tank... but I always just say that main tanks are the ones with shields lol! D.va is considered an off-tank! -On ur first game as d.va, you ask for healing and then find out that you’re “healing” yourself. This actually only happens when you’re attacking on payload maps. It’s a feature most people forget, but if you stand on the payload it will actually slowly heal you!! ^^ -Hmm... something else from your first game as soldier, you asked why someone had “blue HP.” There’s different types of HP in overwatch. White being pure health, blue being shields, and yellow being armor! Basically, the order in which each of these categories is depleted is shield first, then armor, then health. Shields and armor block different things but it’s very value based and a tad complicated! -When you first played deathmatch, you noticed you gained fire. This is just a small meter that fills up depending on actions you take in game. So say you melee someone and receive like 5 fire. This slowly fills up until you’re literally on fire! If you press tab, your hero icon will flash blue flames :) -You can’t compare stats with your teammate unfortunately, but go ahead and use text/voice team chat to ask your teammates! Like, “hey, what’s gold eliminations?” If you’re lucky too, at the end of the game your teammates/you might have certain outstanding stats broadcast on cards! -Also, congrats on your first play of the game as D.VA! It was SO MUCH better than my first play. I hope you enjoyed the game, and maybe you can play it more in the future. As much as I get annoyed at it, it is honestly so fun and I haven’t been bored of it in the four years I’ve played. :)
Btw as to your question "what makes a main tank main tank" Main tanks are usually the designated tank to create space, taking aggro etc. while the off tank helps the main tank and protects squishies (So Sigma with his rock and black hole, D.va with her defense matrix, Roadhog with his hook, Zarya with her bubbles.) The main tanks usually have a shield and/or cc abilities to draw aggro and create space for the enemy dps to easily do their jobs. (Rein shields to gain space, earthshatter CC, Orisa has shield and halt, Ball has his ball form and grappling hook etc.)
You can't compare to your team mates but medals can give you an idea of how bad or good you did, for example in both games you played you had a gold medal in damage dealt, so that means you were the person in your own team who did more damage to enemy heros. Same goes for kills or healing.
Mostly correct outside the order of health types. Back in goats meta they changed the order of health to help balance brig. The order is always health, shields, and then armor, meaning armor takes damage before shields and shields before health. A fun fact about armor is that it gives slightly damage reduction, due to how the reduction works it is more effective vs multi pellet weapons like a shotgun opposed to single shot damage like a sniper shot.
I’d actually recommend ignoring medals entirely. Having the gold medal for damage can be completely meaningless. Good example: you are junkrat, very high damage hero. Your second dps is Sombra, low damage. Orisa sigma tank, mercy Moira support. Junkrat can easily farm tons of damage for an easy gold medal. But just because you dealt more damage than your teammates doesn’t mean you are having the highest contribution. You get high damage but thanks to the enemy healing, you aren’t getting kills. So you have a gold medal but aren’t actually helping in a meaningful way. Switching to a hero like Widow or doomfist who can confirm kills better but deal less damage overall can sometimes be useful. Don’t focus on medals, they are almost always a bad indication of your performance. Instead go to a website called overbuff. It has average stats of what heroes of specific ranks can accomplish. Compare your stats against those, not your teammates, no one cares that you out damaged a mercy.
@@noxythegreat Bro Rush comps are so map dependent. Really, most heroes are in a really good spot. The only ones that could need some nerfing are Sigma, Ball, and Ashe. Honestly, while still not perfect the game is literally in the most balanced state I’ve seen it and I’ve been playing since pre-launch.
It's because the paladins community isn't huge. The biggest paladins youtuber (frostfangs) has 227k subs and pulls about 10k views per vid. I think Andrew could be a very big youtuber, so i'm glad he's diversifying content, since he'll need that to get bigger.
@@pixelplayer5814 Yeah, but that isn't Overwatch. That's ranked. And ranked is a clown fiesta. Real Overwatch is played in a coordinated team, and in the world of organised play, one tricks don't do so well, except for that one time.
Damn means you must be like 7 years old and spent every single second on playing overwatch since release to actually gave spent most of the lifetime, since the word "most" refers to a part bigger than 50% of the whole. Even if you played something from your birth it would be hard to actually have spent half of your lifetime on it since healthy people mostly play like maximum 4 hours a day, and I'd take maximum 6 hours a day if you're not a full time streamer/content creator since you would still have school or work and would have to sleep and eat. Also sorry I know you didn't mean it like that take this reply as more of a joke xD
The medals show how you did compared to the rest of your team & instead of customizing your hero you can switch character mid game, at the cost of your collected ult charge
Press F1 to see what your abilities are, and the medals tell you how you're doing in comparison with your teammates (best of something is gold, then silver, then bronze)
@@alexmoore4219 quoting Andrew when he was talking about the size of an explosion’s effective size compared to its visual size. Definitely not referring to anything else. ;-)
It's because Paladins is more like a MOBA and OW is more like a TF2 kid but instead of having multiple weapons you have more characters with multiple abilities .
The vanilla version of Overwatch was much more fun, in my opinion. The game is more balanced now, but back then, there were abilities that were kinda broken, but a lot of fun to use. Now, players are locked to their selected role. Back then, you can choose to be a tank, damage, support, all on the fly.
I was thinking the exact same thing, I recently started playing Paladins (after 2 years of OverWatch) and Paladin tutorial was just as bad a OverWatch's tutorial.

After learning the game you actually see everything. Also many times you don't have to see since sound effects and voice lines tell so much about what is going on: Positioning or ults/abilities being used. Overwatch is a very complicated game so it takes time to get used to it
Yeah learning a game like oveewstch will take time considering there are so many heroes that you have to learn. Oveewstch plays best when you can switch multiple heroes in the tifht situation. When I started paladins I was a mess lol

Just some tips: -press F1 to see the character info -you can compare your stats with your team via the medals(you see those when you press tab). Gold being the best, silver second best and bronze third. After that there is no real way to compare. -you can press shift while ulting with diva to launch her nuke in a certain direction -the reason you got randomly healed on eichenwalde is because the attackers get healed a small bit by the payload (idk why) -the "blue health" are shields. This is bassicaly normal health that recharges
@@DasWarOma then i probably startet overwatch after that change, cause i cant remember anytime playing without the payloadheal. ^^ when did they add the heal effect if im allowed to ask?

I used to play paladins and switched to overwatch a year ago and it’s so much fun to see you go through the same thing, it takes so much time to feel comfortable with the way overwatch feels and how fast it is. I hope to see more episodes if you can :)
I'm just gonna drop some information about ow here: 1. The characters are decided into three categories(damage, support, and tank) and there smaller categories that the game dosent really tell you that each character fits into.. firstly main-tank/off-tank. Main-tanks kits are usually focused more on defense rather than offense(sigma, reinhardt, and orisa all fall into this category) whereas off tanks are typically more offensive rather than defensive(characters like wrecking ball, d.va, zarya, roadhog are all off-tanks). Secondly the fire types: (hitscan and projectile) hitscan means that there is no travel time between your click of the button and the bullet hitting someone(characters like orisa, soldier76, and baptiste are all hitscan). Projectile means that there is travel time for your shot(characters like sigma, genji, and lucio are all projectile) some characters can have different abilities with each fire type.(the healer ana is a great example because unscoped her sniper is projectile and scoped it is hitscan. Her sleep dart and anti-nade are also projectile abilities) Some characters dont fall into either category, these are the melee and beam characters.(winston, zarya, mei, symmetra, moira, and mercy staff are all beam characters and reinhardt and brigitte are both melee) Next we have primary and secondary fire(not to be confused with secondary weapons like torb hammer or mercy pistol) some heroes have two "fire modes" mei for example has a beam primary fire that slows and freezes enemies and a secondary projectile fire that shoots an icicle, zenyatta also has a primary that shoots single orbs and a secondary that he can charge up that shoots multiple orbs at once). 2. Useful tips: you can see your team through the walls, when the arrow above their head turns orange instead of blue they are taken(or have recently taken) damage. If you stand close to the payload while moving it, it heals you slowly. This is the only way to get heals without an ability or health pack. Being in spawn also heals you and stops any damage being done to you. People in low ranks dont use voice chat alot, even though it's really useful. If you dont want to join voice you can use the interaction wheel, this allows you to make callout within the game that your team can see without being in voice chat. You can say stuff like "I need healing", "group up", as well as tell other players what percent your ultimate ability is at. Some characters have extra setting you can enable in the options menu(like backwards wallride for lucio). You can also customize controls(either for everyone or for a specific hero) and interactions on the interaction wheel (add stuff like "yes", "no", aswell as a countdown. These are really useful for planning attacks with your team without being on voice chat). The best way in my opinion to learn a character is to hop into the practice range and learn all the abilities(what they do and how to use them) and watch good streamers(take note of their positioning, cooldown management, and ability combinations). As a healer main I watch people like ml7 who plays ana, eskay, and frogger who both play lucio. some other content creators I can recommend are Jayne, karQ, yznSA, supertf, xQc, aswell as watching the overwatch league. 3. Overwatch is alot about your team play, stuff like grouping up and planning attacks, but you also have to take into account your team composition. Some characters do really well with others and some do not. Characters like ana, sombra, and orisa rely heavily on their teammates to get usage out of their ultimates. You also wont usually get super far having, for example, a zen and a brig on your team because they dont both put out alot of healing and both of their abilities dont work well together. Some compositions have certain names(phatmercy is a pharah and a mercy, HBT or hog and ball torture is when you run wrecking ball and roadhog as your tanks, double shield I'd when you have both tanks as shield tanks like reinhardt and sigma) these compositions can sometimes work best when paired with another character(like having double shield and a bastion). End: I really hope this helps anyone reading, I might edit to add some stuff or change some stuff later on. This is just some basic stuff I could think of. I think your gameplay was really good for first time and because you play paladins alot it gives you a slight advantage as both games are kinda similar imo, I've played paladins maybe twice so I dont know alot about how that game works though lol. Great video btw!
@@Arhivite eh. I don’t know if it’s changed, but the meta was ball sig for tank. ball is alright, sig is a sin to the game imo. Idk about the rest, I’m not up to date. I think cree might be meta too

They way to compare yourself to your teammates is the medal system. You can get gold, silver or bronze for your main stats. You get gold if you have the most of that stat, silver if second, and bronze if third. You can view it by pressing the button that shows your team composition and the enemies(I don’t know which button because I play console) and it will show up on the bottom left. Hope this helps.
I play a large portion of Paladins, and I've been watching Overwatch since the month it came out, though unfortunately i never had the opportunity to play Overwatch ever, even though I'd like to. But let me just say this, both games are completely different in gameplay now, and i could tell just by watching Overwatch.
Btw the this is the difference between the different colored health! White: regular HP Blue: shield, will regen when out of battle Yellow: armor, wont regen when out of battle
I want to correct something: armor’s special feature isn’t that it doesn’t regenerate, it’s that it reduces 5 damage of each individual shot received, making fast firing weapons less powerful against it.
The reason you pick a role before you enter queue is because for two reasons 1) in lower ranked competitive matches, everyone wanted to play a damage hero, meaning the team would only have 1 tank or 1 healer or non at all and 2) in higher ranks, teams would just play 3 tanks and 3 healers and this meta lasted about a year, but a lot of people felt it was boring to play and watch. To remedy this, Blizzard created a role queue, which meant every team would have 2 tanks, 2 damage and 2 support heroes. This had the effect, however, of making damage queues long bc everyone wants to play damage.
I’ve never watched you before but I liked the video. I love overwatch and play a ton and it was interesting to see someone from another similar game try it for the first time.
“That guy looks scary!” “That guy looks cool!” “I wanna try that guy” That guy is d.va and if you ask the egirls, she’s one of the cutest in the game next to mercy
Technically Barik and Fernando are OG characters, their movesets come from the first versions of the game, so in terms of who came first that would be them since Paladins came before. But that doesn’t matter too much since both character and their skills work very different from their Overwatch “counterparts”.
@@saquial Fernando only came first if we are talking about official release dates ; if we are referring to concepts for characters and the development process Reinhardt came first. Note to anyone reading: No hate, keep any future discussion civil
actually, overwatch was copied from paladins, paladins was developed since 2012, and overwatch was copied from many paladin designs like barik (torbjorn), fernando (reinhard), buck's wall skill (mei), genji's design were inspired in global agenda (a hi rez game) rokus (dva) rockus itself, the goblin (wrecking ball) and now they are copied from the 5v5, and the talents

This was super fun to watch! I'd love to see your reaction to different heroes and their abilities and like for you to go through them in the practise range! Btw it was one of the F(number) buttons that allows you to see that page of abilities during the round!
Its simple if you wanna just learn the basics of it. White health- just normal health with no extra protection. blue health- shields that will recharge after not being shot for a while but will be destroyed completely and instantly by EMP. doesnt mitigate any extra damage. yellow health(armor)- health that mitigates against damage slightly which technically extends a characters health a bit. does not get affected by EMP.
Hold F1 in game to view individual hero stats. The only in-game stat comparison to your team is medals, bronze = #3 on your team, silver - #2, gold #1.
you did an awesome job! I enjoyed watching this :) if you ever see this just a few tips to help, ive been playing for 3 yrs on console 1. overwatch team stats work in a medal system, gold-bronze for different categories (unsure how you view this on pc but you can view during the game) you can also have no medals! gold being the best 2. overwatch does have off-tanks and “meta” tanks but it usually just applies to competitive, quick play is more rule-free. 3. try to get familiar with each of the characters abilities (including ultimates) overwatch can be a bit unbalanced at sometimes and different abilities can dramatically impact the game. ultimate timing is also key! (have good judgement when it comes to backing off and when it’s time to engage) it literally saves games 80% of the time 4. Familiarize yourself with different hero battle calls: for example when mccree (pistol guy) is using is ultimate he goes “it’s high noon” usually you can hear it in time to move out of the way. a lot of ultimates also have visual effects (mcree glows, dva has a caution sign, soilder’s visor glows, etc) i hope this helps you out a bit! honestly the best gameplay ive seen for an ow beginner. it’s difficult but you have it mostly down :3
also if you ever queue for competitive- a lot of people are more team-based and about voice comms, you’d be surprised how serious people take it sometimes! Lol all fun in being a gamer 😂
In regards to one of your questions, yes there are main tanks and off tanks (mains being the ones that have some form of shield barrier for the team). D.va is very much an off tank. Her defence matrix is powerful for blocking key enemy abilities/ults but runs down too fast for her to be main front line. Her boosters and vertical movement mean she's strong at contesting high ground space for the team and peeling back to protect the support/backline. Note that you can cancel boosters with another animation (e.g. melee), so you don't have to go the full distance. You can also fly upwards by facing up.
Just a couple tips/notes: 1) The fire meter is the blue bar under your character, it basically equates to how well you are performing. So the more you do, the more your fire meter charges until eventually you will be on fire. 2) The reason why there aren't categories in the damage category is that you learn how you should play the more you play a character. So Tracer, Genji, Sombra would all technically be part of the flanking category. However, this is interchangeable. Technically, in this game, you can play every character as a flanker or go on flanks. 3) I would take some time to play against AI to get to grips with every character's abilities. 3b) To tie in with this, don't be afraid to experiment and play other roles/characters. One mistake I did was play support and then never experiment with other roles. I really regret that now. 4) Maybe get a friend who plays overwatch to show you some of the ropes. Overwatch is a pretty complicated game with a bunch of different game modes, comps and characters. I think a friend showing you the basics would make it a bit easier to digest. 5) I wouldn't recommend playing ranked immediately when you reach level 25, I made that mistake. Try and get used to the game first, learn some characters and gather some mains- This way you'll have a far more enjoyable time when it does come to ranked because you'll have a better idea of the objective
As someone who has played Overwatch since 2016, your confusion is legit and spot on. I am so sorry Blizzard never improved their tutorial to tell you so many important aspects of the game like: how to check your hero's abilities at any time (odd this doesn't load in the practice range either as a pop-up, I thought it did), the fact there are different game modes and the objective of each, that you can swap to another hero within your role at any time, more helpful hot tips like the fact the payload heals you if you're attacking.
In case nobody has told you, in the end screen (or if you just hold tab) the categories will have medals near them if you earned them; bronze medal means you got the third-highest score on your team, silver means second, and gold means you got the highest on your team. In your soldier game, for example, you earned a gold medal! I really hope you enjoy your time playing OW and learning the ins and outs of each chatacter.
24:21 A little rundown of the heroes that were in that game at the end (top left to bottom right): D.VA (Hana Song; mech girl); tank: leftclick: has infinite-ammo-close-range-weapons (hitscan), gets slowed down when shooting rightclick: Defense-Matrix (DM); absorbs all hitscan & projectile stuff (with few exceptions), but not beam-damage, coming from the direction you're facing (is limited though and has to recharge) E: can shoot a barrage of micro missles dealing damage Shift: uses her mech's thrusters to move around quickly (also up/downwards); deals melee-dmg & knocks back when bumps into someone Q: Ejects from her mech, which self distructs and kills everyone in blast radius and not behind natural cover or shields that are high enough, if they dont have health thats high enough to survive. After ulting (or going to 0 health in mech-form) she ejects and just is herself (mostly referred to as baby-DVA) Can only use her hand-pistol in this form (but don't underestimate it, it hurts) When she regains her ult in this form, she calls a new mech, dealing slight dmg in the area around her. F1 should bring up the abilities in-game. Also comparing your stats to your teammates is not very detailed, but if you have a gold medal in the stat it means you have have the highest, silver being 2nd, bronze being 3rd, and no medal meaning 4th/5th/6th for the stat in your team. As D.VA you got gold damage, meaning you got the highest damage. Nice video.

I was dumb and forgot to check the graphical needs. So I bought Overwatch and was super exited to play it. But then it told me it can’t play because of incorrect graphics card and I felt defeated. Now I have Overwatch just sitting on my computer...never to be played until I get the correct graphics card.
Ive played overwatch since open beta up until about 6 months ago. For a long time during that stretch of time overwatch was the only game i played. I watched the game change a lot and always wondered what the game is like for someone just starting today. Its amazing that even 4 years later this game still has that spark of wonder for new players. Its also crazy to se first hand how little they prepare new players for an actual match and how overwhelming it must be. Also watching you pop tactical visor and run straight at the dva ult was hilarious and reminded of the old days when the game 1st came out. Good luck on your journey if you decide to keep playing.
I just discovered you and I play the tiniest amount of paladins but my most played game is overwatch. If you played overwatch more often I’d watch you nearly everyday because your fun to watch and for your first time your suprisingly good at the game.
U were shooting, they were being healed by moira or women who said "surrender to my will" her ult is like seris constant healin but aiming at teammates
If you decide to come back to Overwatch, if you go under options and then controls, there is a default control for looking at Hero Info so you can see what they do in the practice range or in game. Also if changing Q and E around would be more familiar to you, you can change those controls there as well. There is not a way to see how your team did exactly but the medals give an indication of where you are compared to them such as if you have say Silver damage you have the 2nd highest damage done on the team. You also can break shields as they will show visable cracks when close to breaking.
Overwatch has been in such a weird limbo state for so long it’s really refreshing to see someone new trying it out! It was really entertaining watching you play this for the first time! I’ll definitely watch any new Overwatch content you make and maybe even check out your Paladins content! Welcome to overwatch! Subscribed 👍
There is Main tanks and off tanks . Main tanks usually have the shields and are much more focused on shear health pools , area denial capabilities, self sustain and or big "high risk high reward" abilities like Reinhardt's charge. Off tanks don't but tend to have much more utility and damage and are more focused on supporting or brawling . D.va is a off tank. Though Sigma is a exception cause he would be classified as a hybrid . He has both damage, utility , and tanky self sustain abilities like his Kinetic grasp that give him extra health if he absorbs projectiles as well as his shield . He is a best of both worlds character but master of none . His shield is relatively weak compared to other tanks , and his damage and utility are limited by multiple factors like limited range and strong arc .
I have an idea 4 a series "Bad talent academy" This is ripped of something but u will explain the talent and how's it so shit but u will use a certain loadout and items to make it fun or viable
As someone being the polar opposite in play time (playing overwatch way more than paladins) , it was nice to see someone playing from a fresh perspective. Seeing the things that overwatch missed and paladins handled, as well as the successes that overwatch had over paladins is so refreshing. It was also nice to see how from the other pole on playtime, someone else agree's that the too games are similar and quite possibly inspired rather than a carbon copy or a clone. Thank you for playing and i hope you have a nicer experience with less confusion next time :)

I love watching new players on overwatch because of the amount of time I put into the game I get to see what it was like when I first started. It was funny because I wanted to yell through the screen and help him.
Hey! Gotta say I love the video and it really brought back nostalgia from the first time I played OW. You really cannot compare every stat between your teammates, except for medals. At the end of the game, you saw your specific stats for that game. Each stat had a circle above it, either being empty, or having a medal. Gold medal means you had the highest of that stat on your team, silver means 2nd, bronze means 3rd, and no medal means 4th 5th or 6th. So at 24:39 you could see that you had 7,311 total hero damage, which had a gold medal. This means that you did the most damage on your team to the enemy team. However, some people like to use medals to determine skill level, which should not happen. Certain characters are not good at dealing damage, but instead are more tactical, such as characters that make space for your team or protect your team. Also, you can change your character in the middle of the match as long as you are in your spawn room. There are no buying kits or items for yourself, but say you are playing a short-range character and the enemy has a flying character that you can never get close to. You can just swap your hero to say a long-range hitscan hero to "counter" the enemy. Also, when you see a D.va bomb going off right in front of you, run away, don't shoot it xD
when i first got overwatch i was lucky enough to have a friend who had played 1500+ hours of the game so taught me the meta, who’s good against who, who’s good in general and now I sometimes chill in the groups area to do the same for new players like a 1 on 1 “coaching” experience for them
I hope you guys enjoyed the video! This was an interesting exploration of Overwatch for the first time, and I must say, I quite like it!

@@yavorniki3603 Yeah, in terms of game sense there is hardly a difference
-Hmm... something else from your first game as soldier, you asked why someone had “blue HP.” There’s different types of HP in overwatch.
If you press tab, your hero icon will flash blue flames :)
-You can’t compare stats with your teammate unfortunately, but go ahead and use text/voice team chat to ask your teammates!
@@cookieelement3467 say that to the 3 medals i get on torb 😎

Visually the game is a lot more polished than Paladins, but anytime I watch Overwatch gameplay I just end up feeling lost, not sure what is going on.
I kind of felt that too. Kind of hard to make out who's who on the enemy team when they're not a fat tank, but maybe that's just my inexperience talking.
That’s why you learn. I’ll bet you felt the same way when you first played paladins

THIS GUY HAS A WHOLE PLAYLIST!
I've always wanted to see new people play Overwatch for the first time and see them on their journey to learning the game, but usually I've only found old videos or one-shot videos that aren't part of a longer series, this should be fun
They did not put Team Stats in the game to fight toxicity apparently.
It's a lost battle, better to spend resources elsewhere
GG EZ. My team sucks. I have gold heals on Lucio! Battle Moira switch, our tanks - noobs.
Just an example of a success in this battle against toxicity.
I used to play paladins and switched to overwatch a year ago and it’s so much fun to see you go through the same thing, it takes so much time to feel comfortable with the way overwatch feels and how fast it is. I hope to see more episodes if you can :)
I would really enjoy to see you play Overwatch alongside Paladins from now on. I like both games and think each offers a different expirence.
I'm just gonna drop some information about ow here:
1. Her sleep dart and anti-nade are also projectile abilities)
Some characters dont fall into either category, these are the melee and beam characters.(winston, zarya, mei, symmetra, moira, and mercy staff are all beam characters and reinhardt and brigitte are both melee)
Next we have primary and secondary fire(not to be confused with secondary weapons like torb hammer or mercy pistol) some heroes have two "fire modes" mei for example has a beam primary fire that slows and freezes enemies and a secondary projectile fire that shoots an icicle, zenyatta also has a primary that shoots single orbs and a secondary that he can charge up that shoots multiple orbs at once).

White: regular HP
Blue: shield, will regen when out of battle
Yellow: armor, wont regen when out of battle
also, Dark Blue: temporary shield granted by abilities (ball, doom)
I want to correct something: armor’s special feature isn’t that it doesn’t regenerate, it’s that it reduces 5 damage of each individual shot received, making fast firing weapons less powerful against it.
Keep up the Overwatch content I subbed for it
The reason you pick a role before you enter queue is because for two reasons 1) in lower ranked competitive matches, everyone wanted to play a damage hero, meaning the team would only have 1 tank or 1 healer or non at all and 2) in higher ranks, teams would just play 3 tanks and 3 healers and this meta lasted about a year, but a lot of people felt it was boring to play and watch. To remedy this, Blizzard created a role queue, which meant every team would have 2 tanks, 2 damage and 2 support heroes. This had the effect, however, of making damage queues long bc everyone wants to play damage.
Omg the maps are beautiful, also Sprint, Crouch, melee, take note EM

"He's a Barik type character," "Is that Fernando's shield" no no you've got it all backwards!
Technically Barik and Fernando are OG characters, their movesets come from the first versions of the game, so in terms of who came first that would be them since Paladins came before.
But that doesn’t matter too much since both character and their skills work very different from their Overwatch “counterparts”.

actually, overwatch was copied from paladins, paladins was developed since 2012, and overwatch was copied from many paladin designs like barik (torbjorn), fernando (reinhard), buck's wall skill (mei), genji's design were inspired in global agenda (a hi rez game) rokus (dva) rockus itself, the goblin (wrecking ball) and now they are copied from the 5v5, and the talents

“Why does that guy have blue health”
Overwatch players pulling out an essay and a calculator to explain health armor and shields
The only in-game stat comparison to your team is medals, bronze = #3 on your team, silver - #2, gold #1.
and thus a dva main was born
you did an awesome job! I enjoyed watching this :) if you ever see this just a few tips to help, ive been playing for 3 yrs on console
1. overwatch team stats work in a medal system, gold-bronze for different categories (unsure how you view this on pc but you can view during the game) you can also have no medals! gold being the best
2. overwatch does have off-tanks and “meta” tanks but it usually just applies to competitive, quick play is more rule-free.
3. try to get familiar with each of the characters abilities (including ultimates) overwatch can be a bit unbalanced at sometimes and different abilities can dramatically impact the game. ultimate timing is also key! (have good judgement when it comes to backing off and when it’s time to engage) it literally saves games 80% of the time
4. Familiarize yourself with different hero battle calls: for example when mccree (pistol guy) is using is ultimate he goes “it’s high noon” usually you can hear it in time to move out of the way. a lot of ultimates also have visual effects (mcree glows, dva has a caution sign, soilder’s visor glows, etc)
i hope this helps you out a bit! honestly the best gameplay ive seen for an ow beginner. it’s difficult but you have it mostly down :3
also if you ever queue for competitive- a lot of people are more team-based and about voice comms, you’d be surprised how serious people take it sometimes! Lol all fun in being a gamer 😂
"That guy looks fun"
D.va mains: girl*
In regards to one of your questions, yes there are main tanks and off tanks (mains being the ones that have some form of shield barrier for the team). D.va is very much an off tank. Her defence matrix is powerful for blocking key enemy abilities/ults but runs down too fast for her to be main front line. Her boosters and vertical movement mean she's strong at contesting high ground space for the team and peeling back to protect the support/backline.
Note that you can cancel boosters with another animation (e.g. melee), so you don't have to go the full distance. You can also fly upwards by facing up.
Just a couple tips/notes:
1) The fire meter is the blue bar under your character, it basically equates to how well you are performing.
Andrew: how do I view my abilities?
Me behind the screen: PRESS F1!, Press F1
In case nobody has told you, in the end screen (or if you just hold tab) the categories will have medals near them if you earned them; bronze medal means you got the third-highest score on your team, silver means second, and gold means you got the highest on your team. In your soldier game, for example, you earned a gold medal!
I really hope you enjoy your time playing OW and learning the ins and outs of each chatacter.
This guy was looking at this game like it’s MOBA or something, looking for items and out of combat healing

24:21 A little rundown of the heroes that were in that game at the end (top left to bottom right):
D.VA (Hana Song; mech girl); tank:
leftclick: has infinite-ammo-close-range-weapons (hitscan), gets slowed down when shooting
rightclick: Defense-Matrix (DM); absorbs all hitscan & projectile stuff (with few exceptions), but not beam-damage, coming from the direction you're facing (is limited though and has to recharge)
E: can shoot a barrage of micro missles dealing damage
Shift: uses her mech's thrusters to move around quickly (also up/downwards); deals melee-dmg & knocks back when bumps into someone
Q: Ejects from her mech, which self distructs and kills everyone in blast radius and not behind natural cover or shields that are high enough, if they dont have health thats high enough to survive.
After ulting (or going to 0 health in mech-form) she ejects and just is herself (mostly referred to as baby-DVA)
Can only use her hand-pistol in this form (but don't underestimate it, it hurts)
When she regains her ult in this form, she calls a new mech, dealing slight dmg in the area around her.
Sigma (floating tank-guy); tank:
leftclick: infinite ammo; shoots 2 projectiles that can bounce off terrain and explode for some AoE-dmg
rightclick: sends out a barrier that flies as long as u hold the button; can also be sent up-/downwards (so whereever you like); recharges health only when pulled back (rightclicking once more) or when broken
E: after short channeling: throws a rock that knocks people down (the further it flies the longer I believe)
Shift: ability similar to D.VA's rightclick (DM), but gives you shields for absorbing
Q: Lets Sigma fly (spacebar to go up) and lets him target an area on the ground; people stuck in that area get lifted up and after a short time slammed back down, being slowed and damaged again (or killed if under a certain percentage).
Hanzo (Hanzo Shimada) (third to the left in top row); dps:
He is the guy due to whom 1 of the weapons in Paladins (the bow) got taken out. You'll see why.
Passive: can wallclimb and do a second jump mid air horizontally
Leftclick: infinite amount of arrows; can be charged by holding button; more damage if charged
rigthclick: none
E: prepares a volley of quick-shot arrows for a certain time- and ammo-frame (5 at the moment I believe); good for burning shields or bursting)
Shift: prepares an arrow which when shot locates enemies through walls in the AoE
Q: Fires an arrow in a straight line, which releases 2 spiraling dragon-spirits, dealing AoE damage in travelling-area (goes through walls)
McCree (Jesse McCree) (revolver-guy); dps:
leftclick: shoots hitscan-revolvershots
rightclick: shoots his whole mag (good for close-range-burst); quite some recoile
E: flashbang that stuns an enemy in range for a short time (to line up the next leftclick)
Shift: rolls a fixed distance; reloads your mag
Q: moves very slowly and glows (what he did that one time u killed him) creating circles around enemies in line-of-sight that get smaller;
the smaller the circle, the more dmg you do (resets if Line of sight is broken); when reactivated: shoots those enemies, killing them if the circle became a skull in time)
Zenyatta (the floating dude that volleyed you to death); damage-healer hybrid:
Leftclick: fires single projectile shots
rightclick: charges up the single shots for faster volley of burst shots
E: targets an enemy, which takes more dmg as long as the orb is attached
Shift: targets ally, which gets healed (if health is missing) as long as the orb is attached
Q: creates an area around him where he absorbs massive amounts of dmg fore some seconds
Moira (Moira O'Deorain) (top right corner); support:
leftclick: beam-damages enemy if in range; refills her healing-ammo
rightclick: sprays healing at allies in front of her; uses up healing-ammo
E: throws either a dmg- (E, than leftclick) or healing-(E, then rightclick) orb that bounces off of terrain damaging enemies or healing allies respectively (dmg-orb refills healing-ammo; healing-orb does not decrease it)
Shift: Dashes by fading out an in of existance; cleans from cc (also anti-heal or burn)
Q: sends out a straight beam that does healing to allies and dmg to enemies at the same time
Reinhardt (Reinhardt Wilhelm) (bottom left); tank:
Passive: gets displacing cc-effects (knockup/-back/...) on him reduced
leftclick: swings his hammer for chunks of dmg in front of him
rightclick: puts up his shield (keep button pressed) to shield dmg from in front of him
E: sends out a firestrike-projectile that pierces enemies and barriers; damaging them
Shift: charges in direction of looking, draging enemies that get caught in his way with him; if he slams a wall or after a certain distance, he stops, either squashing the enemy between him and the wall, dealing dmg or knocking them further back, if stopped without wall
Q: slams the ground in front of him in a straight line, knocking down enemies that are not protected by terrain or barriers
Mei (Mei-Ling Zhou) (girl with glasses; third to bottom right); dps:
leftclick: shoots a stream of ice, slowly freezing enemies, slowing them first and stunning them if effected long enough
rightclick: shoots out a projectile-icicle that deals dmg (good for headshotting enemies after they froze)
E: creates an icewall (can be put sideways or in a line in front of u) that blocks enemies, but can be destroyed
Shift: capsules Mei in an iceblock, making her immune to dmg (and everyone right behind it, aka breaks line of sight), heals her and refills her ammo over time
Q: throws out the drone on her backpack, causing a Blizzard in a circle-AoE, having the same effect as her leftclick; effect is stopped if line of sight from drone to enemy is lost)
Mercy (Angela Ziegler); support:
mousewheel: switches between handpistol and Caduceus-staff
staff:
leftclick: attaches healing-beam to ally
rightclick: attaches dmg-boost-beam to ally
E: resurrects ally after channeling time; u have to be close enough to use it; can be stopped by stuns or displacement-cc and of course dying
Shift: flies towards an (still ressurectable) ally
Q: Lets Mercy fly freely (spacebar to ascend); gives infinite ammo to handgun; lets staff-beam connect from attached ally to others close enough
I know this was long, but I hope u understand them better now :D

And that's the story of how I ended up in Paladins, kids 🤣

The good thing about overwatch is that u can switch characters mid game
And that is where a lot of strategy comes from, counterpicking
If you decide to come back to Overwatch, if you go under options and then controls, there is a default control for looking at Hero Info so you can see what they do in the practice range or in game.
Also if changing Q and E around would be more familiar to you, you can change those controls there as well.
There is not a way to see how your team did exactly but the medals give an indication of where you are compared to them such as if you have say Silver damage you have the 2nd highest damage done on the team.
You also can break shields as they will show visable cracks when close to breaking.

His shield is relatively weak compared to other tanks , and his damage and utility are limited by multiple factors like limited range and strong arc .
he got the trip but didn't notice that the payload battered through the door

Yea right beat my 360 shot on widow after grapple and my Anna sleep dart on the dragon blading Genji in paladins kunessa cant even grapple also try overwatch and get gud u will never wanna go back to paladins again
Also used to be paladins gamer but game has bullsht around every corner
@@yufengouyang7327 thats skill, not Gameplay mechanic ,most of the heroes has boring mechanics , genji is the only Who I consider fun , Plus in paladins you can play wherever you want ,with diferent playstyle, bombking is one of the best with dinamic Gameplay , and there's not double shield meta ,and thats makes ow boring. Like mercy lmao heal bot ,while here you can actually do more stuff as healer and even play It like a dmg in tdm. I asume you left paladins bc of the bugs, they dedicade all 2020 just to solve them. I used to play overwatch but It gets repetitive
@@yufengouyang7327 Vora and Grover can grapple though.
Every game has those types of moments, like for example avoiding Drogoz’s dragon punch by using the invincibility frames of Khan’s battle shout, what’s your point?
I love watching new players on overwatch because of the amount of time I put into the game I get to see what it was like when I first started. It was funny because I wanted to yell through the screen and help him.
As a long time overwatch player this was so entertaining. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Also, when you see a D.va bomb going off right in front of you, run away, don't shoot it xD
i would love if you could stream and make create content on both paladins and overwatch
when i first got overwatch i was lucky enough to have a friend who had played 1500+ hours of the game so taught me the meta, who’s good against who, who’s good in general and now I sometimes chill in the groups area to do the same for new players like a 1 on 1 “coaching” experience for them
Definetly more overwatch content would be nice
When he used his ult and stared at the DVA bomb I died inside
