From what I’ve heard from other people is that the medicine is actually a chemotherapy drug, which probably explains why Nadia loses her hair while none of the other vampires do, and connects back to the whole idea of it being a blood disease. *Edit* Apparently the drug is identified in the movie as Cytarabine, which is a chemotherapy drug that is used to treat leukemia, ie Blood Cancer. This definitely connects back to the concept of Vampirism being a blood disease and also explains why Nadja looks like Nosferatu, while the other Vampires, while monsterous, do not, as the side effects of cytarabine include hair loss and pale skin.

I just watched this last week. I loved it, personally. If you didn't know the creature from the trailer, the start of the movie was a really interesting build up. This is basically a German vampire version of Train to Busan.
Don’t know about anyone else, but this channel always helps me find movies that I’ve never watched or heard of before. This movie is an example of a movie that I’ve never heard of and it came out this year.
I really enjoyed this movie. It was somewhat original and the inevitability of her descent into monster-hood once she decided to do whatever it takes to save her son resonated particularly well. Another good horror movie on Netflix was the 3 Fear Street films and the FIRST The Babysitter film, starring Samara Weaving.
lmfaooo sameeee, i was so pissed like "WHY ARE YOU RUNNING, WHY" omg, how hard can it be to just stay quiet wtff. "WHY ARE YOU DOING SOMETHING YOU LITERALLY HAVE NO CAPACITY TO DO SO" whyyyy
I was pissed at the boy, but after sometimes to reflect, Elias isn’t as bad. He made a couple of bad decisions, but he ultimately saved the day. Remember, he’s been through a lot with his mom’s conditions.
I was quite pleasantly surprised when I watched this a few days ago. It was also quite bold to have the movie be equal parts in German and English, which was fun for me as someone who is fluent in both languages. The production value was also surprisingly high, and the makeup? Pretty awesome. Definitely a step up from the usual schlock.
I watched this on a whim when it first hit Netflix. Since it was foreign I went into it blind but I actually enjoyed it. I surprisingly didn't hate the character of Elias. Usually kids in movies are obnoxious, but this kid was an amazing actor and was really good at evoking emotion.
I love just watching you explain things even if I'm not into movies with vampires or even airplanes that much but it's your voice and personality that I keep returning for
This one was an unexpected treat… and is now one of my favourite vampire movies of all time. As others have said… the scene with her finally pushing away her son so she doesn’t harm him was heartbreaking… and the final scene of her fully transformed was terrifying. Great movie.
Yep that scene hit straight to the heart. And then the end when she jumped out of the plane and was completely taken over with no sense of humanity left in her.
I very unexpectedly had to put my dog down last week, I’ve been a bit of a mess but something about your sense of humor and videos has honestly been an amazing distraction during this time. Thank you ❤️
Everyone that loves dogs, and has lived with them in their lives has been thru this. That certainly doesn't make it easy. It is by far one of the saddest things you'll go thru in life. We also have to say goodbye to our parents at some point. There's no guide book or anything that'll help us. You've just gotta deal with it and go on. It sucks. It sucks so very, very much. I'm so sorry you lost your dog. I know how hard it is. Only time can heal you, but even then it's not a complete healing. You'll always have memories you don't want to have. I hope you adopt another dog one day. There's one out there that could really use your help. That needs saving. Good luck.
I'm so sorry. I've had to let go of three dogs over the past decade or so. It's heartbreaking, but at least you know that you gave it a wonderful life for what feels like too short a time that they are with us.
Sounds like it’s a good twist to the whole zombie-like “apocalypse” but with vampires. I think it would be very interesting to see this kind of vampire outbreak instead of the constant zombie outbreak, especially since vampires are very similar to zombies
There was a made for tv movie I think it was called Stake Land and it was pretty depressing seeing the aftermath of a vampire rising. It was a bit like several seasons of the Walking Dead smushed together. Like for instance the protagonist raising a kid whose parents were killed and running into a cult of human survivors who think the vamps are a curse from God for their wickedness and they must sacrifice people to placate God. And they run into other kinds of survivors etc.
When it cut to black at the end I thought some shit like "15 years later" was going to appear, and it would show the kid like a super badass vampire hunter with the dude with no hand helping him.
Id love to see you do an Ending Explained for 'The Number 23' with Jim Carrey. It was such a trippy movie that confused me and a movie I SERIOUSLY loved :D Keep up the amazing work with these amazing videos ^^
I think you are very much in the minority of people who loved it. I honestly haven't seen it, but it's constantly on worst movie lists. I wasn't aware it was kind of a trippy/twist ending kinda movie.
best part : went into this movie blind, didn't even see the other poster, just the one with the planes on it, didn't know shit and thought it was just a normal thirller then started noticing weird things happening and then it hit me about the vampire thing and boy was my mind blown, this movie hits hard when u don't know what to expect, just like that THE SIGNAL movie, anw, good movie, had a blast, but i am sure most of the fun came from me not knowing it was a vampire movie and that was awesome, it sure pays off not to watch trailers or spoilers.
Watched this film a couple days ago. I oddly enough like it, especially the fact that the main vampire was an innocent woman and the fact she didn’t let it entirely consume her and still loved and protected her son first and foremost, kind of was expected her to go full beast mode and bite him but obviously never did. Plus a villain who’s weirdly genre savvy and takes a supernatural threat seriously, even though short of being a clairvoyant shouldn’t really have known what to look for unless it’s explained in the meta he’s aware of supernatural forces and has done research.
Elias is part vampire since he fed off the milk of his mother, the same way a mother will transmit her antibodies to her children through breast feeding. Clearly he's infected from a less virulent form of vampirism. This explains he's heighten senses. Elias is the german Blade.
I had the trippy experience of watching this movie while on a night flight. I found it to be a bit ridiculous and the child to be very annoying, but I did admit that the woman was a wonderful mother who truly loved her son and wanted the best for him. It was the saving grace of the movie.
This reminds me a lot about The Strain, about a vampire/parasite that takes over a plain and starts infecting everyone in New York. It’s on Hulu and it gets dark and depressing for humanity down the season. Even the kid ends up killing his dad vampire via explosion
Plenty of non-sexy female monsters. Deadites aren't exactly sexy. Hell, one of the nastiest and biggest monsters in movie history was the Queen Xenomorph. Plenty more I could list as well.
This is a great movie. Having all of the other story parts all tie in to what’s going on is lovely. They did a really good job. If there is a second one(but there’s no reason for one at all) I think it would be a good idea to focus on the older vampire. He clearly has an interesting story behind him that could be explored.
I thought I was the only one who found this scene so scary... the sense of dred is crazy good. A helpless mother and baby chased by a feral vampire is crazy
You know, that beginning part of the movie, where she's stuck in the snowstorm, kinda reminds me of the beginning of "One for the Road", except that she survives and doesn't infect the Husband.
Blood Red Sky caught my attention right away when it first came out; and it took me almost a week to watch the movie. It had some really heartfelt moments in the movie, espicially when Nadja was pushing Elias out of the way to save her son and to protect him. She was a mother all the way through and the both loved each other emensely!
This movie is pretty impressive.i liked how it had flashbacks leading up to the ending.it is very sad that Nadia couldn't be saved tho and poor Elijah had to go thru all of that alone.
Please do an ending explained or in-depth breakdown of either Pandorum or It Follows. They're both very good horror movies and criminally underrated maybe by doing an in-depth breakdown or ending explained the movies might gain a wider audience.
That bullet proof car is to put context into why they are creating a fake crash/possibly heisting the plane, it shows that there is important cargo and puts a sub story in the movie.
Just a thought, is it possible that the scene with the old vampire and his vaccine and the scene of 8 Ball casting aside a comrade who begged to be bitten in order to be "saved" is a trait that the "evil virus" automatically rejects as it cannot allow for beings like our Protagonist and the Old Vampire...hosts with low transmission probability? As you said many interesting elements to the backstory that can yet still be addressed and enrich this Vampire Universe they've introduced us to. A collaboration/crossover with 30 Days of Night would definitely provide opportunities for intersting development and expansion to this universe.
21:00 not explaining every detail is not "underdeveloped". Mystery is a very important story telling tool, especially in horror movies, especially movies with diseases or super powers. The more we know the less scary things become. This movie is excellent because right up to the very end because there's a a possibility she could be saved
This movie was so good. I was surprised by just how good this film it was a great slow burn for the first act to all out insanity by the end. Also that ending was so heartbreaking seeing her give up more and more of her humanity in order to save her son throughout the film only to become a full blown monster by the end.
Beautiful name you have and I felt the same way as you did. This movie also reminds me of another movie called "Cargo," where the parents of a baby girl get infected and they slowly turn into zombie-ish creatures, and the father (before he fully succumbs to the infection) manages to get his daughter to a safe place inhabited by a tribe, so at least she wouldn't be hurt by the infection.
It reminded me of the anime Fate/Zero I think. (Not Fate Stay/Night). Someone on board has these zombie (?) insects in their body. Infects everyone. Different tragedy in that show, but it has the same situation of one person being not infected and having to try to land the plane. I won’t spoil it, but I thought it was an interesting episode for anime.
I first saw this film when I walked in on my brother and cousin watching the film, I asked them what movie it's called, they both said in these exact words that still stuck to me now after all this time "Ruh-roh Raggy"
The problem is they have no proper quality control. They'll literally grab everything and anything they can to feed the streaming gods, even if it's kids with a camcorder and a doll. Hell, even Tubi has a better, although limited, spread of choices, and most of their stuff are decades old, or zero/low budget indie stuff. :/

@@khailils446 most of the time it actually isn’t, people just refuse to try. For example Lidl, Aldi, Porsche, Volkswagen
Grandmothers name is nadja, been told it’s more Ukrainian. Italians spell it like Nadia. Lot of Muslim women have the name nadja as well.
Canadian in the UK and I absolutely agree. I've always made the effort to ask/look up proper pronunciations. Most Brits will stare at you as if you're the uneducated one. If I can accept Leicester, Derby, Worcestershire, please do the same with words and company names from Germany, France, etc.
I applaud the writer for putting an Arab Muslim guy as the innocent victim and actually the nice guy and put the bad guys mostly white. Love how they wanted to show that terrorism is definitely not an Islamic thing but rather an individual act. Love movies that break negative & wrong stereotypes. 👏👏👏
I love that too lol
I just watched this last week. I loved it, personally. If you didn't know the creature from the trailer, the start of the movie was a really interesting build up.
This is basically a German vampire version of Train to Busan.
I THOUGHT OF TRAIN TO BUSAN TOO
Is this really a German film?
I’m not gonna lie I quickly fell in love with this movie
Don’t know about anyone else, but this channel always helps me find movies that I’ve never watched or heard of before. This movie is an example of a movie that I’ve never heard of and it came out this year.
I could totally dig a sequel where the kid grows up to study the "disease" to try and prevent this sort of tragedy from happening again.
Spent the entire span of this movie utterly pissed at the kid for disobeying literally everything his mom told him and not helping in any way.
lmfaooo sameeee, i was so pissed like "WHY ARE YOU RUNNING, WHY" omg, how hard can it be to just stay quiet wtff. "WHY ARE YOU DOING SOMETHING YOU LITERALLY HAVE NO CAPACITY TO DO SO" whyyyy
For some reason, I really liked Elias and didn't feel pissed at his mistakes
Dude, I wanted him dead the entire movie, me and my sister were "IF YOU HAD LISTEN YOUR MOTHER NOTHING OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!"
Kids.
Especially this rebellious ones
I absolutely love hearing him mess up at 5:55 cause it shows he's not a robot
I love just watching you explain things even if I'm not into movies with vampires or even airplanes that much but it's your voice and personality that I keep returning for
Did you know that if you sticker your finger in peanutbutter, it will taste like peanutbutter?
Great film. The acting between the mom and son near the end was sad, but touching.
Good luck.
RIP to your pooch ❤️❤️
RIP to your dog
I'm so sorry. I've had to let go of three dogs over the past decade or so. It's heartbreaking, but at least you know that you gave it a wonderful life for what feels like too short a time that they are with us.
Sounds like it’s a good twist to the whole zombie-like “apocalypse” but with vampires. I think it would be very interesting to see this kind of vampire outbreak instead of the constant zombie outbreak, especially since vampires are very similar to zombies
Jojo’s bizarre adventure does exactly this in part 1
There was a made for tv movie I think it was called Stake Land and it was pretty depressing seeing the aftermath of a vampire rising. It was a bit like several seasons of the Walking Dead smushed together. Like for instance the protagonist raising a kid whose parents were killed and running into a cult of human survivors who think the vamps are a curse from God for their wickedness and they must sacrifice people to placate God. And they run into other kinds of survivors etc.
There was this one vampire apocalypse series called The Strain (novel series first, then TV show). There's also V-Wars and Van Helsing.
That's literally the plot of I Am Legend starring Will Smith
Van Hellsing on Netflix would be the perfect movie for you then lmao… or yeah, The Strain.
I’ll be back after I watch this movie. When Chris says it’s good….I always take his word for it!!
When it cut to black at the end I thought some shit like "15 years later" was going to appear, and it would show the kid like a super badass vampire hunter with the dude with no hand helping him.
Id love to see you do an Ending Explained for 'The Number 23' with Jim Carrey. It was such a trippy movie that confused me and a movie I SERIOUSLY loved :D
Keep up the amazing work with these amazing videos ^^
I wanna see one for case 39!!
What needs to be explained the movie explained everything
@@DensilGrant lol I know right
That's one stinky movie lol
I was expecting a demon because of the poster, the movie kept popping on my suggestions & I decided to just watch .
I literally love this channel. I watch it everyday, no matter how many times I’ve seen it. My husband thinks I’m weird.
Elias is part vampire since he fed off the milk of his mother, the same way a mother will transmit her antibodies to her children through breast feeding. Clearly he's infected from a less virulent form of vampirism. This explains he's heighten senses. Elias is the german Blade.
This was definetly one of the best recent netflix originals
I'll never forget my Granddad's last words to me just before he died. "Are you still holding the ladder?"
Lmfao underrated asf I’m screaming
@@isaiahwilliams2332 As I get older, I remember all the people I lost along the way. Maybe a career as a tour guide was not the right choice.
Humor as it best
This movie hit me as the vampirism almost being drug addiction or any bad addiction. They fight so hard bit it tears so many apart.
I had the trippy experience of watching this movie while on a night flight. I found it to be a bit ridiculous and the child to be very annoying, but I did admit that the woman was a wonderful mother who truly loved her son and wanted the best for him. It was the saving grace of the movie.
I don't blame them because they have no life experience but kids are so fucking dumb. That's why I hate them in movies
What an emotional and hurdle-leaping story arc for the character of little Elias, from traumatized child, to terrorist fighter, to vampire killer.
You can't "shoot the dog" and still be the good guy.
A certain Australian council has recently found that out... :/
Unless it’s Cujo.
This reminds me a lot about The Strain, about a vampire/parasite that takes over a plain and starts infecting everyone in New York. It’s on Hulu and it gets dark and depressing for humanity down the season. Even the kid ends up killing his dad vampire via explosion
you could’ve done without the last sentence
@@_e9647 😂😂😂😂honestly that ending was so disappointing its not too gutted to have it spoiled
This movie is awesome for allowing female monsters to be SCARY instead of just SEXY!!!
Haven't seen scary chick vamps since 30 days of night. . .
The make up effects on her were absolutely the best.
Plenty of non-sexy female monsters. Deadites aren't exactly sexy. Hell, one of the nastiest and biggest monsters in movie history was the Queen Xenomorph. Plenty more I could list as well.
And here we go....
Lol, this wont stop them
I watched this movie with my dad, uncle, and aunt on vacation. I liked the movie and thought it was pretty good.
I've been waiting for someone to cover this! This was an interesting film.
Everything went to shit when Elias disobeyed his Mom…then he blew up the whole airplane.
Well damn
poor kid just didnt want to see her die
Kids are stupid and rebellious.
@@kRzlamchop dude, they're kids. they dont know any better. Dont call them stupid
omg i was so pissed, at the end it was the kids fault what happened
I find it interesting when the universe/ lore in a film treats vampirism as a disease not a monster... Or at least more of a disease than a monster...
One of the best films I've seen in YEARS. If you haven't watched it do. The spoilers don't make a difference to the film.
Ive seen it about three times now and it hits just as hard each time. It's fabulous.
This is a great movie. Having all of the other story parts all tie in to what’s going on is lovely. They did a really good job. If there is a second one(but there’s no reason for one at all) I think it would be a good idea to focus on the older vampire. He clearly has an interesting story behind him that could be explored.
The scariest part was when she went looking for her husband with her young son...it really made my 'fight or flight' alarm go off. Great movie.
I thought I was the only one who found this scene so scary... the sense of dred is crazy good. A helpless mother and baby chased by a feral vampire is crazy
I thought this was a good movie. The actress was amazing. She did an amazing job transforming into the vampire.
@Phoenix 𝙾𝚙𝚎𝚗 𝙼𝚢 PROFILE Agreed
That little kid is an amazing actor
Dominic Purcell is a national treasure.
My only negative in this movie was that he was underutilised
@@sandsjourney3170 agreed
This movie is pretty impressive.i liked how it had flashbacks leading up to the ending.it is very sad that Nadia couldn't be saved tho and poor Elijah had to go thru all of that alone.
love it when kids actually acts and thinks like actual human beings in horror movies.
That ending broke my heart. She destroyed herself to protect her son.
I’ve seen EVERY SINGLE Ending Explained video you’ve put up. I need more!!! Lol
Please do an ending explained or in-depth breakdown of either Pandorum or It Follows. They're both very good horror movies and criminally underrated maybe by doing an in-depth breakdown or ending explained the movies might gain a wider audience.
Damn I never get tired of that intro!
I saw this for the first time recently. I was very impressed, and it immediately became one of my favorite vampire movies. Great film!
Want a sequel of this asap
A prequel is more likely, to show how it started. Then a sequel is doable, since all vampires are dead.
@@Raximus3000 Are they all dead tho?🤨
eh no
Blood red ground
@@Raximus3000 the vampire that bitt her is still roaming around, who knows how many are infected?
had a terrible week glad to see this put a smile on my face and changed my mind for a bit, luv your content
Actually watched this, it was very enjoyable.
The most immersion breaking moment is seeing the amount of free space in the overhead locker.
You should get Internet Historian to do an intro for you. “One take, I’m busy!”
That bullet proof car is to put context into why they are creating a fake crash/possibly heisting the plane, it shows that there is important cargo and puts a sub story in the movie.
Yeah sort of like the Train to Busan terror in a very confined space.
I'm afraid of Zombies, but i loved Train to Busan 😍
This was good.
There was a few beats that didn't really work for me, but I enjoyed it. It was a unique take on vampire flicks, that's for sure.
This was actually a really good movie
This movie was so good. I was surprised by just how good this film it was a great slow burn for the first act to all out insanity by the end. Also that ending was so heartbreaking seeing her give up more and more of her humanity in order to save her son throughout the film only to become a full blown monster by the end.
m0r0n
This was a unique and underrated film. I actually liked it a lot.
Train to Busan meets Splice meets Flightplan.
Who knew vampires and aircraft jacking terrorists could work so well together!!
The ending made me cry and I loved it
Beautiful name you have and I felt the same way as you did.
00:30 Agreed! Netflix pumping out content over Quality! But this movie was actually good!!!
The ending isn’t tragic. It just sets up a sequel where the son becomes a vampire Hunter.
Not really it makes the movie self contained as there are no hanging threads that need a sequel to explain away
Not for him to be a hunter necessarily
maybe he’ll help people like his mom?? not a hunter exactly
The kid in this movie was great,he made me wanna cry :(
JUST about to go to sleep too till our boi came in clutch af lessgooo
Wasn't expecting such a great child character.
Fate/Zero is one of my fav anime, watched it when i was in junior high and really enjoyed it 😍
That episode made no sense despite being interesting
One of the most underrated vampire movies this decade…I absolutely loved this movie
What do you think about covering 'Supernatural'? It is a long show but maybe a season per video?
Lmao he almost never covers tv shows do you even watch this channel
@@mayasullivan3853 no need to be rude. I do watch his channel. He said to leave suggestions for films and shows. What's the problem?
I first saw this film when I walked in on my brother and cousin watching the film, I asked them what movie it's called, they both said in these exact words that still stuck to me now after all this time "Ruh-roh Raggy"
"Most Netflix originals are just crap"
Couldn't agree more
Nice profile pic!
Netflix doesn't even make half of them. They just aquire the streaming rights.
Trese was pretty good. Needs another season though.
I’ve watched this over a dozen times. Loved it
It would be really great if there was a prequel!!!😳🤯😱
A prequel? What would it even be? They already showed the mother's backstory
@@nuttynutsnutstache you could still make a whole movie from it just add more in between the takes we saw and how it led up to her getting on the plane and meeting this doctor in new york .
Not saying it will be good but its very possible
This film and Train to Busan has become my favorite horror films.
I love Found Flix.
One of the few times where I went to watch the film before. And boy was it worth it.
