That was a nice video. Glad to know about this little need.
Wish they would just include one of these when you buy the file set for about $24.94 when I bought my new saw. So raise the price to $29.95 and included it.
I've checked 3 local stores and no one has this thing. I still need one.
I've been sharping my STIHL since I bought my in-tree saw 192-T model in 2006.
This little thing could have helped me stay more level sharpening a long time ago.
Guess will have to order it now that i got a new STIHL 261 CM-Q - Great little saw upgrade for me.

    Порой пользуюсь такой направляющей штилевской(на 3/25, паз1, 6 и 3/8 паз 1.3) вполне неплохо держит угол заточки.

During the back-drag, they specifically show no material being removed to indicate no "pressure" on the back stroke. On the cutting forward stroke they show shavings falling off. While I personally don't do it, back-dragging on the cutter without applying any pressure will not damage the file or cutter. The important lesson with files is to not put pressure on the back stroke on a file made to cut on the forward stoke.

WHY only take off metal on the 'push' stroke, why not on both?
Final stroke should be a push to avoid an inwards curl on the leading edge of the tooth, tho'

      Hello 92TIR,
      Thank you for your comment.
The FF1 STIHL file holder guide can be used to sharpen all cylindrically ground STIHL Oilomatic chains (except carbide-tipped chains) and is simple to use, just clipping on to the guide bar.
Since the The FF1 STIHL file holder guide is available in different versions, we recommend checking the PDF "Sharpening a saw chain" (www.stihl.com/p/media/download/sharpening_STIHL_saw_chains_0457-181-0121_02.pdf) and consulting with your certified STIHL dealer. They will be pleased to help you.
