Quick Tip: I use a Kettle Pot weight to 'ground' my Winch Lines when pulling. You can run the line right through the handle, or use a large D-Ring, since I have a mix of Steel Cables and Soft Lines on my Winch(es). You can store it outside the cab, by just hanging it off your rear Receiver. It keeps it handy and from banging & rattling around, plus keeps the mud outside. Also seems to reduce annoying tail gaiting tourists as it swings around back there. LOL. Hope to see you out there some day soon.

Miles of deep sand on that road. Mostly further down, but right there is was plenty soft. I did this road on my bike. The part right in there where the truck went off is super fun. All the turns are banked out by SXSs, so on a bike it was like a roller coaster.
Like some other viewers, I was thinking it would be better to go out straight ahead, but Matt shows why he stays safe and stays in business. Nothing like experience and being there. Well done.

I was just surfing around on YT one day a couple of weeks ago and stumbled on one of your rescue episodes and now I can't stop watching them! I think I'm gonna need therapy pretty soon if this keeps up but there's something really interesting about watching you guys figure out all these extractions in the most impossible locations! Best one so far is the 4x4 wagon train with Paul's dad's wrecker pulling the Jeep Wrangler up those hills and you all were tied together and made it out in record time. If I had bet money on that one being a total fail I would have lost the farm because I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell you were getting that one out. You either really know your stuff or you are all just plumb loco but it sure is fun watching you get 'er done!

I see why people say dont go wheeling alone. We were exploring our 30 acer feild property, we knew there was some wet lands but didnt know where. My dad took his 66 cj5 back in the feild i went ahead on the dirtbike. The dead grass covered the saturated soil, i floated right avobe it all, i tryed to warn my dad it was muddy but it was too late, he was up by me and when he came to a stop he sunk in. Kept trying to get ir out, jamming rail road ties we found under the wheels but nothing was helping those 30 year old bald p225s. We made it to the oposite end of the property, far enough the farmer a few days later was even afraid if hi could even get his tractor up there. I must admit we were impressed how far we got on bald small tires, no lift stock spings that are lower than stock cause there so worn, 35 psi in each wheel(forgot to air down, but we do have 4x4 with a broken driver side fron u joint, and posi in the rear. I also now see why some swear by lockers, no way my jeep woulda made it back there with the tires i got.

re" the rope, me too. I carry a stretchy-recovery strap... I used my old 10,000 lb one just once to pull some kids in a Subaru out of a mud puddle with my Tacoma (and the stitching half ripped out of one of the end loops), so I got a newer better one (30,000 lb 30 foot Smittybilt) for my newer bigger-heavier truck, and haven't needed it yet. but if I do I'll be really happy I've got it. I'd have a hard time justifying a $300 Yankum rope for how little it would get used, since I don't regularly go 4x4ing.
