    I made these last night for my family and our wonderful neighbors who gave us many pounds of persimmons out of their garden. Wow! These were SO SO good! Thanks, Angel! Our neighbors really liked them, especially the jam filling. Thanks again and Happy New Year! :)

    Very pretty and, I'm sure, delectable cookies.
    I think it's important to note that only the kaki variety of persimmons can be eaten while firm. The hachiya variety cannot be eaten until very soft. But my children prefer both to be soft so they're like nature's fruit preserves or custard.
    They're native to many places, including North America, but are not as readily available as the Asian varieties and not as convenient as the seeds are much more prominent.

      @GpD79 2 года назад

      Yes, the kaki at our house is very astringent if you do not wait until it is super soft. It's so nice to see someone else call them kaki!

      +Calla Lo They should last 4-5 days if stored in a cool dry container, but you may not have that problem since every time I make these, they get eaten up quickly. :D

    Just curious... does the coconut oil give these cookies a noticeable coconut flavor? If so, what can I substitute with?

    • @angelwongskitchen
      @angelwongskitchen  8 лет назад +1

      +MrsPeachyPie I don't really notice the coconut flavor from the oil, but if you don't like coconut oil, softened butter will work just as well.

    Hi Angle, can i use almond powder? i can not find almond flour.

    • @angelwongskitchen
      @angelwongskitchen  8 лет назад +1

      +Sharon Ngo Check to see if the almond powder you have on hand is not already almond flour. If it's the almond powder used for Asian drinks, then no that's not the same. Costco sells almond flour (if you live near one and have a membership) and most grocery stores will sell it as well.

    I enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing them! :-) One comment: I noticed when you said to sift the dry ingredients, you just stirred them together on camera, rather than sifted them with a sifter or sieve. Do you usually sift, or just stir together like you did on camera? :-) Thank u

    • @angelwongskitchen
      @angelwongskitchen  8 лет назад

      +S Ooi I actually sifted & measured before I put them into the bowl. Then mix the dry ingredients before adding the wet ingredients. :)

    Great video, Thx! This is off topic, but can you please tell me where did you buy that silver pot with the wooden handle that you used in your wonton soup video? I really like it :-)
    Also, I would love if you can do a full apt tour of your home. I would love to see how your place is decorated and yes, bathroom too. And would love to see all the toiletry products you use . And maybe an introduction to a little bit more about you and your personal life. You're so sweet and angelic and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious. Job? Love life? Family? Etc... Im nosy :-) Happy holidays!

      +Y Port Hi! I got the hammered pot from World Market here: bit.ly/1F574N7 :) Though, it's a bit lightweight since its made from aluminum.
      LOL - I'll add these to my video wish list. Tour and more about me. :D Happy Holidays to you as well!

    I never knew they were called persimmons. My grandpa introduced them to me when i was 7 but i thought it was called Sharon fruit. Also he said its bad if you eat them unless they are very ripe.

  • @leof4165

    Is persimmon the same as a Sharon Fruit?

    • @angelwongskitchen
      @angelwongskitchen  8 лет назад

      +柊かがみ I haven't seen Sharon Fruit sold at my local supermarket, but it looks like a variety of persimmon. You can also use that if you'd like too. :)
