I ended up getting this sound bar on Amazon on sale $139.00. I almost didn’t because I watched this review, the only thing I agree with this review is there’s no digital read out that’s says HDMI for instance. But WHAT HE doesn’t tell you is the lights on the front of the sound bar tells you what mode you’re in. Another great feature is if it’s muted to long it shuts down, if the TV is off it shuts down. It actually produces great Hi’s Mids & lows for the space I have it in (Bedroom), the feature to be able to amplify the dialogue is yet another great feature, you have basically levels 1 2 & 3 which help kick it over the sound so the sound doesn’t drown out the dialogue. The best feature I have found is the night mode button, I can still use the sound bar at night with my wife sleeping next to me thanks to the night mode, it doesn’t bother anyone. It’s killer for the space it’s in. The controller is way more responsive then this guy is trying to say, I get it’s not inferred so ya of course the delay is there but it’s so minor, I have never had to click a button more then once to make a commend I chose on the remote to work. So for all of you that do come across this sound bar it’s a great buy for what it is!!! & for this RUclipsr I almost skipped on a good deal because of you but I remembered what the hell am I thinking never listen to a critic, perhaps in the future spend more time with an item you’re going to review before you make a video!!! based on your review I’m betting you didn’t even spend a weekend with this product
Jesus I love this comment. I read a shitload of Amazon reviews singing its praises... so I bought it? Why wouldn’t I? The people say it’s awesome. Just picked this up yesterday . I paid $150 at BB. I think it sounded great had good bass . But your right about the volume and bass read out . Before the Polk I brought that Yamaha bar without the external sub home . Listened to it for 5 minutes and put it back in the box.. This Polk is great for the price . Thanks for the review.

this si a great soundar!!! I have it and it has that Polk Audio sound!! very crisp and clear! here's a good tip, turn the subwoofer sideways and you'll get deeper sound
Such a great sounding soundbar. I just don't understand all this talk about not having a display. Especially not buying it just based on no display. Call me crazy but I never look at the display to see what number the volume is at, I simply adjust the volume up or down until it's the right level for me. I don't rely on a number i rely on my ears lol. Love the review though, great job!
After using it a bit I could see how having a display would be handy to know once you have reached the maximum limit, especially with the bass. I still think it's more than worth the $200 price tag tho.
The display improves the user experience much more. At the end I always want a product to be the best and have the best for me to suggest it as well as use it as a consumer.
Bought this a few weeks ago and have no idea about sound bars, I was advised to buy this one as it was in budget and great sound for the price. I am blown away with the quality compared to a friends system that cost 4x more than what I paid. I agree about not having a display and having to guess the levels but on the plus I have it on the wall below the tv and it looks beautiful with the simplistic design
Picked up the 65" Vizio M-Series. The Polk and Vizio 2.1 Sounbars are $149.99 at time of purchase. The only point for the Polk is an ARC HDMI connection. You don't need a volume indicator. You just use your tv volume control which does show volume level. Speakers aren't big enough in sound bar for bass? That's what the subwoofer is for.

How does this Polk compare to the Yamaha YAS-108 in terms of voice clarity and music sound? At present, the Polk is selling for $139 vs. $199 for the Yamaha. Thanks!
We also have to put an account that the polk comes with a sub and the Yamaha does not. For the price I'll probably say try out the Polk. However I like the sound a bit more on the Yamaha
Great review. I am not an audiophile and just wanted something to improve the tv sound. I just got this for $150 on Amazon and love it for what I needed at this price point. This is a very fair review. This is a great soundbar for the price but it does have drawbacks which he hits on perfectly. For what I needed they are minor but for example for someone who also wants to stream music a lot the lack of UI visuals on the remote actions would be frustrating.

Will the subwoofer have to re paired to the soundbar every time you shut off the soundbar? & is it paired up automatically when you first setup automatically? Thanks!

I haven't heard the Polk solo yet. I should be reviewing it eventually since ppl want to see that vid. Since it's on sale at BBY get it u can always return it if u don't like the sound.
On sale at Amazon right now for under $140. I’m very tempted to purchase this for my Samsung HD television. My only question I have is does my TV have to have the HDMI Arc connection? Or can I use with a regular HDMI output?
My Samsung doesn't have an ARC output, so I'm using the optical cable. Sounds great! The only hitch I've found so far is my tv remote volume won't work with the optical connection - only with the HDMI ARC - so I have to use the tv remote AND the Polk remote. Labor intensive, but great sound!
Hey Kosher, please advise.. This or the Sony HTMT300 from Best Buy for $200? I know this one is more powerful, but I live in an apartment. I have the Sony now, but thinking about exchanging it for this. I like the Sony sound bar/sub so far bc it's compact and look sleep. Sound quality wise, bass aside, which one is a better buy? This one's $170 at Best Buy right now. Thanks.
@@KosherTech awesome. Bought the 2 to hear the difference myself. Polk sounds more clear and the bass is deeper. I did like the build quality of the Sony better, but cant win it all right? Thanks for the info man. Your videos are on point keep it up! 🙏🏼🔥
I can’t tell if my bass is working or not.. I don’t hear sound coming out of it. And I’ve been following directions and nothing is working, do you hear sound coming from the bass?
It's a pretty bass heavy setup so it should be noticeable. I originally felt the same but that was quickly corrected by pressing the bass button on the remote. Just click on it for a little while, 5 or 6+ clicks and it should be clear. If not, go through the sub sync process again.
So is this sound bar and sub good ? I’ve got a Samsung with wireless sub and it isn’t great at all. Is the sub good ? Like bass ?? That’s what I’m looking for without spending a ton. I’ve looked into a wireless sub from klipsch 12’ but it alone is $300
I like the sound from the S2 but I can only get sound from my Samsung TV using the optical link which I need for my surround sound system. Polk S2 HDMI connection does not work with Samsung eHDMI ARC. The off-shore Customer "Technical" Service group does not seem to understand there is a problem or a work around for this. There is no truly technical person available at Polk to discuss this problem with. I think Polk should make this problem known or add some sort of adapter to the package if one is available. Samsung and others have been adding the enhanced HDMI ARC since about 2017, 4 years, and Polk has not fixed this problem of compatibility in that time. The new Polk owners seem to only want your money, I have several other Polk speakers but they predate the sale to the Wall Street Banker.
Hey man, which one should i get? Jbl 2.1 or signa s1? Price difference is jbl 2.1 is more expensive about 65usd in my country. Which is more value for money?
I have this one, and I have found that I have to put the volume up to 45 to really get the sound come from it, I dont like the remote as you said that you cant tell where it is with how loud it would be, other than those few things I dont like,.its not bad for the price
Is there a way to get sound from both the tv speakers and the soundbar at the the same time using arc? I tried with optical cable but creates a echo.. help lol
I have and like it, but sound profile is a little uneven. Just missing in the mid range especially in both the high and low trasition zones. Those holes in the profile are noticeable. However , if you have some way of applying an EQ to it, your results may vary. Its not terribly great on the top or bottom, but solid in those ranges. For the price however it is one of the better units. I believe Visio had a better sounding system at a similar price, but this one is solid.
This or the yamaha yas 109 ? It is for in my bedroom so i need not very much base bud somtimes i like it to have is the yamaha good enough or should i go fore the polik sigma s2 whit sub fore movies and music in a small room
@@KosherTech Thank you. So it's Signa S2 additional Sub vs Infini pro Doulby ATMOS ability. Not sure how much ATMOS is effective. Can you please review Infiny Pro?
@@KosherTech hey thank you for the reply and review but I ended up going into my TV sound settings and put it on Dolby Digital sound on both sides now I'm satisfied with it
This is a great soundbar but has two FATAL flaws. First the soundbar goes into standby after 15 minutes if it receives on audio input. This means if you mute your TV for more than that time so you have to grab soundbar remote and turn back on. Second the soundbar will not turn on and off with your television after pairing so again you have to grab the soundbar remote to turn back on. Every other soundbar turns on/off with TV after pairing. Note there are no work-a-rounds for these problems.
Soundbars suck, but they're so convenient and unobtrusive....and WAY better than tv speakers. Would have loved to see a comparison to the Vizio 3621 with sub. They compete head to head.
@@KosherTech this is my first ever sound bar purchase so I’m not well informed. I’m just looking for something that would sound great with movies. Not sure about needing the sub. I watched your jbl 2.1 video and was convinced on it but now watching this I’m confused 😅
Lol all good, I'll help out. I would recommend the JBl over this. Also there are options such as the Yamaha Yas 109/108, Polk Magnfii and Soundcore infinity pro soundbar. All of those soundbars which I mentioned I did review type em onto YT kosher will pop up. Plus they are pretty 🔥 if u live in an apartment maybe just get a sound bar standalone if not get one with a sub.
@@KosherTech yup I’ve seen all those videos. The subwoofer shakes the floor right? So in this case I think the 108 might be better suited for me because of the built in sub woofers and it falls under my price change. Thanks for replying!
Looking to drop $300 to $400 or a little more on a soundbar. Don't want to if I don't have to. Looks like you have reviewed and know what your talking about. Looking for clear sounds and good bass. What do you recommend? I subscribed
Thank u for the sub. U want both combo sub soundbar or just soundbar? If just soundbar I would go with Sonos, if combo JBl bar 3.1? Only because I review that sound bar I can only speak to the products which I reviewed.
Hey your great! I have signal 2 and I have some problems with it. Every time I shut down the tv (Samsung ru7400 with hdmi cable) and turn off the soundbar Disconnections. And I have to shut down both together and turn off together Do you know how to fix it?
I just called polk audio, the lady ran me through a bunch of reset stuff and nothing. Replaced ther hdmi cord... nothing. I've always liked polk audio. I'm pretty disappointed with this purchase unfortunately
It auto-offs if it doesn't receive a sound signal for about 15 minutes. It will on and off with the tv remote IF you connect with the HDMI ARC, but NOT with an optical connection only.
@@KosherTech literally just went out and bought it at Best Buy. $169. Replaced my LG (475B) 300w. So far its leaps better. I believe my LG cost about the same when I had picked it up about 1.5 years ago. My issue with the LG was the dialogue to action sequences are just wayyyy to Loud and then wayyy to soft. I was tired of compromising between hearing dialogue and not waking the dead. The Polk S2 so far is doing AMAZING work with keeping things just where they need to be. Clear dialogue without suddenly blowing your eardrums with explosions. 🤙🤙🤙
Hey man! Love your videos! I’m having a hard time deciding between the Polk Signa s2, Yamaha YAS 207, and the JBL bar 2.1.. I have a 4K TV with HDR and HDMI (arc) capabilities. Which would you recommend?
KosherTech thanks so much for the quick reply! I heard the Yamaha has some subwoofer crossover issues at lower volumes. Have you had any experience with this?
Hey there, I did want to give some feedback on the JBL bar as I was recently at a local BB store in my area. I did test it as well as the Polk Signa s2 & was really impressed with how much better the sound quality was with the s2. I was expecting more rich sound from the JBL, but it was rather disappointing. Now they didnt have a Yamaha on display, so cant say anything on that. I am looking forward to getting myself the s2 in the near future.
The audio reps for the manufacturers tend to adjust the music or and for the soundbars and speaks to make them sound better. Best bet is to demo the soundbar or speaker at home with your own music.
I bought the Solo 5 and returned it... When I did I tried out the sound bars in store and was blown away with the Polk. Went on sale the next week for $170 and I picked it up
I bought one! I HATE IT!!! The remote is cheaply made and the buttons often don’t work. There’s no volume display to gauge the level of the sound. The night mode is a great idea…IF IT WORKED! But the volume will suddenly deafen you and then drop so low that you think you are deaf. I spoke to a tech rep yesterday. He couldn’t answer my questions and appeared to make answers up. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. On a positive note, when it works, it works. When….
I picked up one of these in April at Best Buy After a suggestion from one of their audiophile specialists. The LG sound bar I picked up previously did not work well with my Sharp Roku smart Tv. After about two days for whatever reason, the LG sound bar stopped working with my TV remote so I took it back and they suggested this (universal) Polk audio sound bar with the ARC HDMI output. Has worked flawlessly ever since. Great sound and great product! 👍🏽. I’m not sure why the first salesman didn’t suggest the Polk the first time instead of the LG. I had to drive an additional hour to a different Best Buy to pick up this Polk sound bar and I would have gladly paid the additional 60 bucks to have a product working the first time around. Oh well, I guess that’s what happens when you have non-experienced sales people selling audio equipment.
Hi there. I have just purchased this bar as this was going on a massive sale nearly 50% off. So considering the name Polk I bought it impulsively relying on the fact that #Polkaudio makes great sound equipment. The reviews were good. I was on a low budget too and then I realised that I should check online for some reviews and I stumbled upon your vid. Saw it thrice fully grasping and taking notes what you you said. Read the comments below and realised that may be my decision was not a bad one. So I am writing this comment to thank you. I was really impressed by your clarity of thought into this video I mean you sound like you know what you are saying and really the fluidity and honesty of your discussion greatly helped me. Went through your other videos as well. My bar arrives on Tuesday. I will let you know how it fares. Thanks once again. And by the way subbed you too.
Hey my bar arrived. As you said. Super easy to set up. The sub woofer connected automatically every time the bar is switched on. Looks great. Not flimsy. Good stuff. Now it has to be switched on every time one wants to use it. Compatible with both iOS and android. Music sounds great. No distortion. Good soundstage but not very wide. You have to be exactly in front of the bar. It is compatible with Dolby 5.1 but just plays out all channels individually so ends up sounding stereo. But it’s a great sounding bar for music. Coming into movies. The clarity and dialogue is good. Sound effects may turn up to be very loud. One more thing. The bass is very very powerful. I could feel the vibrations in my bed. So bass lovers rejoice but it does not overpower the soundtrack. Overall a great sound bar. Worth its price. Thanks for pointing me out in the right direction.
@@KosherTech At the end of the video you said the bar 2.1 was beast. Which 2.1 are you talking about at the end of the video. Like the last minute of the video you said that...
I've been trying to get the wattage specs from Polk Audio and they refuse. They are hiding the true power output of their equipment, probably due to weak numbers and prices out of line with competition. You are most likely getting some 80 watt garbage, tuned well enough to sound good while paying for what other companies give you 200+ watts for. I don't care if it sounds good, keeping general specs hidden from consumers is not what I expect from a trustworthy company.
Were you forced to do this review? Biased right from the beginning. Harping again on again on low profile tweeters, remote issues and lack of indicators on the bar itself.
@@JAYREEZE1 Hey appreciate the reply! My wife got a Samsung sound bar with a little sub and I’m not impressed at ALL!!! I thought about buying the ONN ROKU one but I can’t buy just the sub. You’ve got to buy the whole setup and this would be cheaper.
I got it from my mom she said she couldn't figure it out lol. So bought a new one instead of returning it. I'm pretty knowledgeable of the stuff, I mean they're pretty simple. But it won't sync.
It slow blinks when my first initially plug it in. then when I hold the sync button flashes faster but then doesn't go solid green like it's supposed to

Thanks.
Hey dude sorry for not mentioning the Sony soundbar. But yeah I would most definitely go with the Polk.
Polk is worth the extra $

If you have your soundbar hooked up via hdmi arc you will be able to use your TV remote & you will be able to see the volume level on your TV screen!
I gotta ask, do you HAVE to connect both the optical cable AND the HDMI Arc? Or just one of them will do? Is there any difference lol
Just one of them brah brah.

I can’t tell if my bass is working or not.. I don’t hear sound coming out of it. And I’ve been following directions and nothing is working, do you hear sound coming from the bass?
From the Sub??
Having the same issue with the subwoofer
It's a pretty bass heavy setup so it should be noticeable. I originally felt the same but that was quickly corrected by pressing the bass button on the remote. Just click on it for a little while, 5 or 6+ clicks and it should be clear. If not, go through the sub sync process again.
Prolly have to sync it again..
How did you get the sound bar to boot up in HDMI mode..(one solid light) instead of optical with 2 lights.
If hdmi is connected it will default to hdmi ig ,if you also connect optical it will prefer optical
So is this sound bar and sub good ? I’ve got a Samsung with wireless sub and it isn’t great at all. Is the sub good ? Like bass ?? That’s what I’m looking for without spending a ton. I’ve looked into a wireless sub from klipsch 12’ but it alone is $300
Go with the JBl bar 2.1 or 3.1

Since there is no wattage listed, what do you estimate it to be on how it sounds? 200-300 like the others in the same price category?

Would the volume display info show on the TV screen using ARC hdmi? Or at least the TV remote can control volume on ARC.

Good review even though it seemed a little biased lol.
Is there a way to get sound from both the tv speakers and the soundbar at the the same time using arc? I tried with optical cable but creates a echo.. help lol
Not sure bout that
I have and like it, but sound profile is a little uneven.

You need to use the ARC
I can't remember EVER muting my TV for 15 minutes or more, so that's no issue at all to me...

So far its leaps better. I believe my LG cost about the same when I had picked it up about 1.5 years ago. Between the Yas 207 and the JBL bar 2.1. get whichever one would be on sale.
KosherTech thanks so much for the quick reply! I heard the Yamaha has some subwoofer crossover issues at lower volumes. Have you had any experience with this?
I didn't test the Yamaha with the sub unfortunately 🤦
How do you compare this one with Bose solo 5?
Solo 5 doesn't come with a sub. It wouldn't be a fair comparison
When….
Bar 2.1 better?
I liked it more bar 2.1
More than half of they Best buy boys don't know what the heck they r talking about
It's more like, they would sell more expensive or gear that is not so often sell than better stuff :)
Thank u good sir 😊
Lol np. Thank u for the written review lol 😁

I would be more interested in audio quality than just raw wattage. Wattage is just for loudness
