The FLDS reference surprised me, but I understand why. 😅 You're such a people person and your confidence is inspiring.
We have farmers markets here, but nothing like that. Produce, honey and a grass fed beef stand....I thought ours was good. What a blessing
I am fortunate that I live in a large Amish community and have a bulk/Amish store in my town.
♡Awh, I miss PA!!!♡ thanks for sharing!!!♡
That looks like a great farmers market! I always love the beautiful colors of the vegies and fruit at farmers market in our area. I hope the young people find your channel Adaline. U would b a great lady to teach them so much. Have a good day
We love going to the bird in hand market when we go to the Lancaster area each year. I come home with so much by bulk and Amish grown and made things.
We just picked at Hursh's blueberry farm in middlesburg, PA on Tuesday. The sweetest blueberries! 2.15/lb
Owned by a mennonite family and the use organic sprays but are not certified organic. They are on google maps.
Where I live in Quebec, Canada, there's a zero-waste store that strives to source their produce/products/everything as local as possible. You can also place orders with them in order to get some specific things from local farmers, so they also work a bit as a headquarter for the farmers. Zero-waste stores tend to try to get their produce locally mainly to reduce their c02 footprint and they tend to be proud about getting local produce so they will tout about where everything comes from if you ask them about it xD
I need to search for that now.
You are so very fortunate to have such a thriving Amish Community around you who have amazing variety and awesome quality. Here in Australia in my country town, farmers markets are fairly recent, they tend to be very upmarket too. So not the variety or cheap bulk - they cater more for trendy money people. We do sometimes have road side vendors, they tend still to be less expensive.
The blouse is absolutely beautiful.
Wow, you have a really nice farmers market there!
The colors of all the fruits and vegetables are Amazingly Beautiful!!
Great video. I do have sm farmers market near me but nothing like what you have. That was so wonderful Adaline. Ty so much for sharing it. I love the more simple wSy of life that you were talking about. Loved the video.
Great avenues to source what we need locally. Love the blouse and skirt too!
Very interesting, thank you. I love going to the farmers market. Love your channel. The blouse looked very nice on you.
Love love this video! Here In our area we have a few Amish bulk food stores a good 30-60 min from us, and multiple farmers markets. We also have a lot of small family owned orchards that have a lot of good items too!
This is really good content ❤
Thank you love from Portugal 🇵🇹
Thank you for the list!!
Enjoyed. Thank you dear for sharing. Blessings
I'm in Ohio Amish country so bulk food stores as well as scratch and dent stores are everywhere. Plus the Guggisburg and Pearl Valley cheese shown in this video are local to me!
I'm loving your new style of videos ❤ All the fresh vegetables ...they look so delicious 😋 I have a local farmers market near me but it's only there on Tuesdays for 2 hours, nothing as wonderful as yours, I would love to visit Pennsylvania in summer time 😊
Thank you for the list. I love shopping at the local markets. A lot of farms have a weekly box program to make it affordable for families. CSA.
Loved this video ❤👍🙏
Great ideas. Love fresh food.
wow thank you for posting all the stores. i didnt know a few of them
This was so helpful. I moved from Chicago down here to a small town in Texas. It is fairly rural with a lot of nearby farms. I've been looking for local farmers markets & bulk food stores. We had more options that I knew of back in Chicago. Many people around here are very helpful. They did a lot for one another during the pandemic lockdown & during that historical snow storm in February 2021. You've given me some ideas for me & my family. I can also get info from my mom, who grew up similarly to the Amish in Mississippi. Thanks for the info! It's very much appreciated. 😊🙏🏾
Most of what you said applies in southwestern Ontario where I live and central Wisconsin where I'm from.
Wow, your farmer's market makes the ones we have here look like nothing. Our farmer's markets are temporary markets that are only open for a few hrs once a week. They are fun but I wish we had ones like what you showed.
Very informative thank you.🌿
I loved this video. It reminded me of when I lived in Pennsylvania. We used to go to the Green Dragon market in Ephrata, PA every Friday. I looked forward to it every week. I'm not sure how far you are from that area but I miss that market so much since moving to Ohio. :)
This is a nice market. Hmm! I love northwest pa and I never see. Can't wait to hear. Thank you Adaline. Hugs
Morning. I live in South Africa in a small town...we support local. We have fresh fruit and veg every day. We buy at our local butchery. We are about an hours drive from the nearest town. I love the local organic food at a very affordable price.
Australia, north west, very remote town... unfortunately we don’t get anything fresh. For the most part most things are frozen for transport. I noticed another lady mention market places are for people with money. It’s a shame but true, when I visit the city and surrounding areas, I love going to the markets but they are pretty pricey. For me it’s worth it tho as there is definitely a better taste!
One day we’d love to come and visit Pennsylvania, it just looks so beautiful and I love the idea of getting back to basics! X
What a lovely video!! Your girls are growing up too fast! We frequented numerous Amish/Farmers markets over the years but we now live in VA. Other than a Co-op and a few roadside stands I haven't had much luck with local vendors. Maybe there are some other Virginians that know of some bulk stores in the Fredericksburg area. My niece has persuaded me to shop local so money stays local!! Since your recent move to the country I see a sweet change in you and your content!!❤❤❤❤
I have a small Amish bulk store and I have Amish farms around me. This year our tomatoes plants were ate by something just the tops out. So we will be buy tomatoes and potatoes from the farms.
Roasted golden beets are fantastic! Enjoy.
Vanilla and vanilla scents for my home is my favorite too!! There used to be a local candle maker here that made my absolute favorite calked hot buttered vanilla. Oh my goodness!! I miss them!!
Beautiful family, Lord your so blessed.❤
Enjoyed ❤❤❤❤❤
I live a half hour from Heath, Ohio. There’s a lovely little Mennonite bulk food store there called Yoders Farm Market! They have a great selection, awesome deli sourced from Ohio’s Amish Country and bulk spices that are the best prices around! We also have a nearby farmers market in Lancaster, Ohio on Saturdays. Great video !
We have a Mennonite farm market near us. I went Friday and got some great stuff. Yours has more variety.
looks so beautiful and yummy! Ive used golden beets to make pasta sauce and carrot tops for alternative chimichurri or pesto to reduce food waste :)
great tips! Here in the panhandle oft TX has been harder for me to find affordable resources than central TX and there are no bulk stores that Ive found anywhere near me BUT, once you get your foot in the door for local vendors it starts to snowball because its more word of mouth than advertising here so you just have to be brave enough to have face to face conversations with folks :)
Yes Colorado suck when you do find a stand it's so expensive you just go to the grocery store it's cheaper now here in Gunnison the city market does try to buy locally when they can the potatoes are from a potato farm about 2towns away
I love this
Detroit has an amazing farmers market called Eastern Market. I buy almost all of my produce from there.
I live in tasmania/Australia. We live on a hobby farm.when its the colder season and we dont have our garden going We buy from vegy stands some people put out there vegys and eggs out the front of there houses for sale. My kids love doing this.
I live in California. We have local fresh produce year round because of our weather. That is one of the benefits from living here. We just ask the vendors at the multiple farmer's markets where they are located and if we could buy in bulk from them . That saves them money too. They don't have to spend money to sell at the farmer's markets.
I do too. I live in the Central Valley of California (the bread basket of the world) and we are mainly fields farms and orchards. I love living here because I live surrounded by food grown here and it’s really easy to get milk meats produce dairy from our local farmers. I live in a small town closer to the mountains and it’s beautiful here
These places are about an hour from me and I NEED to go!!! ❤❤❤
Alot of my bulk food type local stores are all over 1.5 hours away from me. I live near Newport, KY, just south of Cincinnati.... From what I've seen, there's one up on the north end of Dayton, OH, and there's another in the county a couple hours away in Brown County, Oh.... I need to go and try to get to those soon!
Sweet Beautiful Ady...Good morning Sweetie ❤ you are so blessed to have these markets by you. Everything looked so fresh and lovely! We use to have more farmer's markets near us but no more after covid we lost them all we do have the flee market so I get some from them. I do have a lady I get local honey from its delicious! Not to far from me is a Amish/ Mennonite town in Sarasota Florida I believe its called Pinecraft my daughter's and I are going to go I heard they have markets and Amish restaurants I can't wait!! Your top is beautiful I bet you could make one just like it! I really enjoyed you're video God Bless Y'all...Camille 🤗💥🙏💥💚🌻💚
Yes! You will find lots of resources in Pinecraft!
Super good information!! One thing though - I was a little bummed you didn’t pass on the beet roasting info you learned☺ I’d like to know what she said & try it too
Curtis Stone has a great roasted beet recipe!
I just wrap mine in tin foil and pop them in the oven at 350 or until they’re fork tender.
Im in Australia and we have a local ma and pa type store that sells local produce. We also live around several farmers. I cant afford to shop there, but i do like to buy our potatoes in bulk from there. And buy the occasional organic tea.
I'm in North Carolina and i haven't had much luck finding bulk stores and our farmers market is not as good as the one you visit.
My husband and I just moved from NC and we never could find much there either along those lines!:(
I will be visiting PA this summer and I really love that blouse. Can you tell me where you got that beautiful blouse and also the best markets to visit
If you’re in Canada (particularly in AB or SK) - we also have Hutterite Markets.
oh excellent!
I will definitely be searching for bulk food stores in my state. Have been searching your videos trying to find your baked bean recipe, can you direct me to your link? Thank you in advance. Also, when you canned your grape juice, what type of grapes did you use?
What an awesome farmers market! I live in a small town in between 2 larger cities. Neither one of them have a farmers market. I’d love to shop locally but nothing is available! 😔
I just had triple bypass heart surgery June 21, 2023. I have to take it easy for a bit. I have been binge watching your channel and I absolutely love it. I am 54 and I have been trying to live a more healthy lifestyle for about 4.5 years now. We have feed and seed stores, farmers markets, creameries, and many local farms. I live in Portsmouth, Virginia. I teach 5th grade. Thanks for sharing your life with us. I have learned some good tips. I love to cook and meal prep. How are oats gluten free?
Gluten is in wheat. And oats are not wheat. ☺️
@@AdalineZook I knew that lol
I'm somewhat close but we travel that way sometimes. Could you possibly share the names of the stores and market? I would love to make a day of it. Thanks in advance
💜💜💜💜💜
I'm in moscow pa. I'm interested in local for everything since moving here 6 months ago.
I live in the Tri-state/Pittsburgh area. Would love to hear about local farmers markets here, especially close by.
same here i havent really found any that are affordable and local. and the couple farmer markets i did go to were just very tiny and mostly food trucks -.-
I just moved to Pittsburgh about a year ago, so far I've found Triple B farms, Trax farm market, and Soergels orchards for local produce/products. Triple B has been my favorite so far with the absolute best strawberries I've ever tasted! For in city the Mt. Lebo farmers market on sat. mornings has a few nice well stocked stands for veg and local meat. I haven't found any local bulk dry goods places yet.
@@Pearmaiden yea i love triple b farms little market store but it can get kind of pricey haha. an at trax i bought some plant starters and an apple tree from them but i found the groceries to be too expensive to be worth getting tbh but both are very nice. as for farmer markets i will have to check out the mt lebo one because the one in pleasant hills so far has been seriously lackluster since it was mostly food trucks last time we went. and yea i havent found a a good local bulk dry goods place yet either
I LOVE the top you purchased. I wish we had more markets and bulk food stores like in your area and where I grew up in NE Ohio, but here in South Dakota, the markets are smaller and a lot of "local" items are not truly local or still use pesticides. Finding SOME small ones to hit up but the variety is not anywhere NEAR what is offered back home.
Is that mint spearamint or peppermint?
I believe it Spearmint ☺️
I live in Gettysburg and there are no GOOD markets. Can you please tell me the name of that one so I can look up when they are open??
If you haven’t tried Bridge Avenue Berries for blueberries, you should! They are registered organic and very well priced. I’m a little biased, but they are the sweetest people. They were a second set of parents to me growing up. ❤
I’m looking them up!! Definitely going to check out their farm!! Thank you!
I just moved to Mission Viejo CA. Does anybody know where I can source good organic produce and meat ?
Could those of us that have an Amish bulk store in our area, comment with the name of our town. Possibly those hunting will discover one near there home.
Love this idea!
Pinola Pantry 1430 Rowe Rd. Shippensburg, PA. Dutch Country Store 10 Mooney Rd Shippensburg, PA. BB’s Grocery Outlet 18 Quigley Rd. Newburg, PA
Colorado sucks 😭😭😭😭
