Ser Aliser is the one that’s supposed to be training the recruits and he definitely does not like Jon. His idea of training is just having them all beat on each other. Jon actually took the time to try and train them and get to know them. Thats is why they’re his boys now. Remember Tyrion, in ep3, was the one who sort of pushed Jon into embracing his Nights Watch brothers.
