The hound saying goodbye to Arya Gets even sadder when you realize something.
The 2 Stark girls are the only 2 in the entire series to ever say thank you to him for anything at all. Sansa tried after he saved her from the commoners. And of course Arya is thanking him for a LOT. He was top tier, all around hero in this show.........with a few rough edges.

One little detail that a lot of people seem to miss in the beginning of this episode is that Varys is trying to poison Dany's food. That's why his little bird had come to him and saying that she won't eat, and Varys replies "well we'll try again at supper." During that interaction he was writing letters to all the Lords of the realms to tell them about Jon's true heritage so that they would rise up against Dany and install Jon as king.

  • @Aegon23
    @Aegon23 3 месяца назад +20

You mentioned that Varys did not scream and took it like a champ. To clarify, we are talking about flames so hot they can burn metal and stone, such as those that scorched Harrenhal and the Iron Throne. Given this, as soon as the flames touched Varys' body, he would have died instantly. Death would occur so quickly that there would be no time to react. Being engulfed in dragon fire is like being shot in the head; you go from being alive to being dead in milliseconds, leaving no time to scream or even feel pain. It is painless due to the rapidity of death.

    *Poetic Irony:*
    - Cersei "POWER is Power" - Dies to supernatural power much greater than her own (Dany & Drogon)
    - Littlefinger "KNOWLEDGE is Power" - Dies to supernatural knowledge much greater than his own (Bran, the 3-Eyed Raven)
Jorah Mormont was always Dany's "Jiminy Cricket". We had clues about Dany's evil streak from the very beginning when her brother died with the "crown of gold". Jorah wanted her to turn away, but Dany wanted to savor every minute of Visery's death. Even "Dark Sansa" turned away when Ramsey was being devoured by his dogs.

    • @LuvFearlessly

I think that was Dany realizing the brother she’d stood up for many times was her abuser and realizing “his” destiny was hers. Sansa also did watch as her abuser was killed. Just didn’t stay for the whole thing.

@@correypeta Because every event Bran sees in that vision is from the past. It would mean that one scene is from the future. I also say because you can listen to them tell you it's from the past on the commentary. The reason I say it's during the Dance of the Dragons is because in Bran's Vision you see the Sept of Baelor in the bottom right, which Cercei destroyed. I don't believe it would be an oversight considering the vision happens same season as it's explosion.
Also, if you watch the scene, the Vision. And you change Aerys' pitch. It's sounds different. Like Burn the Wall. Hold the Door Hodor. That goes into a different theory about D&D original execution. But it's here in slow mo. ruclips.net/video/MjLGYqc-poch/видео.htmlttps://ruclips.net/video/MjLGYqc-poc/видео.html
Check out the Bran Time Loop theory if you never have.
I believe Bran was originally meant to be the villain and they changed it after GRRM feel off the board in S6 and that's why Bran becomes this sort of weird not a man character, but it's all in the Vision. D&D did it because they always hated the more serious magical elements of the story because they're tied to souls and religion and it was too complicated to pull off with wanting to be done and over with the project.

The knee-jerk reaction of negative emotions clouded their judgement which resulted in condemning the writers and swearing off the show in a fit of rage. I remember being astounded, witnessing the mass hysteria and short-term memory loss of great episodes that aired before that moment. All because the show went in a direction that the fans didn't want to see or couldn't see coming. You know, like GOT has done in all previous seasons. At least the outcome was unpredictable, even though there were plenty of signs all along the way in hindsight, so you can't shout character assassination if you refuse to acknowledge them. It took 8 fckin seasons!!!! You can already see her insanity in first season with how she WANT to see her brother being killed, she told the guys from Qarth that when her dragon would be bigger she'll "destoy her enemies and burn cities to the ground". I agree the last two seasons were rushed but Dany's insanity was visible (punctually yeah but still) from the beginning.

as a tv writer myself, i know how hard it is to correctly close out even a regular show in a way that is satisfying, but GOT is one of the deepest shows ever created. everyone who hates the way the series ended dont really understand the level of talent that had to go into just pulling off what they did in this season and it's not the writers' faults that they had a short window to wrap it up. its not perfect, but nothing of this show's magnitude ever could be even with more time.

For the life of me, I will never understand why people don't see Dany's evil side. She was ALWAYS an ends-justifies-the-means character, and it was only her advisors reining her in that kept her from acting on her worst impulses. The second she ran out of good advisors, her answer was universally genocide. That's not to say it was well-written here, but I found it beyond predictable.

Most people with media literacy or people who read the books expected Dany to go mad in some way, a lot of the problem like you said is that it’s not well written, the pacing rushed, the descent is not believable, partly because Dany in the show was whitewashed and because her descent to becoming genocidal takes place in the span of really just two episodes. No real leg work done, just drove a golf cart to the finish line of the marathon

This is why I don’t understand why people react to Game of Thrones and you’re not even on the last episode. This show is known for being one of the best that ever started and ended horribly and there is a reason why so many people hate it. I’m not saying this to be a dick. I’m just saying it’s not gonna be worth your return on investment and you still don’t even know who the ruler is. Keep this in mind, the show was probably successful that early seasons because of George RR Martin. He hasn’t finished the book series. The last one published was book 5 for context. Danny had just flown off with Drogo and Tyrion hadn’t met her yet. Tyrion was just arriving in Mereen. The fifth book ends with John dying. That’s how much of a gap there is between what is actually published and where the show ends it’s not worth it if you want something and you want something Game of Thrones I would stick with House of the Dragon books published that series out and you can figure out what happens if you really wanted to before the show. And the characters are just as good and there’s more dragons. But this this is not worth it, and it never should be even be considered to start the show in my opinion. It just isn’t worth the ending.

Grey Worm and Missandei were great characters but they both represented Danaerys. Missandei GENERALLY represented peace, fairness, gentle, loving, motherly. Grey Worm generally represented aggression, toughness, assertiveness, protection, vengeance, trauma, violent. When Cersi caught Missandei and beheaded her, that representation. What do you have left?! Grey worm characteristics ! Cersei brought all of this and it’s her fault, had she not killed Missandei, though hurt and bruised Daney wouldn’t have burn down the city. The thing about Dany is that the seeds of her madness were in season 1. She was what, 13, 14? And watched emotionlessly as her brother was murdered in front of her. We cheered her, because Viserys was the WorstTM, and we felt she was in the right. But we didn't stop to remember this is the only family this literal child has in the world and she loves him and looks up to him as a brother. Then she burned the witch that killed Khal Drogo, and we cheered her, because the witch was The WorstTM, and we felt Dany was in the right. She threatened the 13 at the gates of Qarth, and we cheered her, because the main guy was The WorstTM and she was in the right. She killed the warlocks in Qarth, we cheered her because they were The WorstTM and she was in the right. She massacred all the slaveowners in Astapor, Yunkai, and Mereen, and we cheered her, because they were the worst, and she was in the right. She nailed slaveowners to posts and we cheered her, because they had done the same to children, and she was in the right. The Khals of the Dothraki were the WorstTM and she was in the right so she killed them and we cheered her. We can see at each and every step that the circumstances were such that we were okay with what she did. From her POV, she acted, and people cheered. The circumstances mattered as long as people loved her. When she got to Westeros and found all the love she had in Essos has dissipated, she did what she always did. She acted, and hoped the people cheered.

Power corrupts yes, but she’s had power for a long time if they didn’t corrupt her by season four or five then they shouldn’t have gone with the mad queen plot at all. The circumstances of her “mad queen” arc would have worked as long as they would’ve happened either sooner or if they would’ve occurred with a longer season/more seasons, which the creators were offered. The writers organized their entire series around an ending they didn’t write to

And if you know Jon, you know he doesn't throw words around. So even if he knew that Dany was wrong, he used the 'she's my queen' or 'i don't want it' line as a defence mechanism.

She made some mistakes sure but what she got in return was like tenfold worse than her mistakes. A man who lived his whole life in kings landing said this. But all of a sudden, everyone in the city knows the bells mean to surrender. What?!? These inconsistencies are minor, but they show the lack of care from the screen writers. They had a contract with disney to make star wars movies and just wanted to finish game of thrones as fast as possible. So they just stopped trying.

It’s power she thirsts for Jon has and always will be the rightful Heir. Dany is nothing more than a typical angry Targaryen. Also poor Messandi died because of Dany and her need to go in unprepared. She continued to go on about Jon’s war. It’s was never Jon’s War. It was everyone s war. She should have waited like Sansa told her too. Dany turned into a vengeful fool.
