Many people forget it but in fact Olly's father died next to him on that scene that the wildings attacked their village, like literally, from an arrow from Ygritte herself (at least according to the show). So its full circle indeed. We don't like it, but that's justice for you.

The Tyrion/Tywin scene is just so cold. There's no urgency, there's no rage, no tears, no emotion, just a man and his son, who has decided to kill him, and that's exactly what he did, in the most casual pace ever. The slow reload of the crossbow truly brings it together, he has no need to rush, Tywin will die regardless, so he takes his time and it's like he's shooting a target on a wall, not the monster who raised him.

I still think it’s a shame they didn’t include Jamie’s confession to Tyrion. That his wife had never been a whore. That she’d always been just what she seemed. An innocent young girl fleeing some rapists. THAT was the main reason why Tyrion delayed his escape to go hunting his father. His grief for that lie that he’d believed.

One of the best episodes, which gets overshadowed by the ones with really big reveals and epic moments. But with this episode, every scene has a purpose and they flow so well. There's also minimal back and forth. It's almost like they flow from one vignette to another, and each one is so emotionally impactful. And the arrangement of the theme they use at the end is beautiful.

The Jaime breaking out Tyrion scene cuts out one extremely important plot point from the books that reshapes the relationship between the brothers. If you remember back in Season 1, Tyrion told Bronn and Shae the story of his first wife Tysha who he was told was a whore and she had sex with her father's guards after their marriage and then forced Tyrion to have sex with her again. Jaime reveals to Tyrion that she wasn't a whore and actually was in love with Tyrion and that she was instead raped by Tywin's guards and then Tyrion himself, and that they kept this from him and made up a story about her. This completely breaks down the love they have for each other and Tyrion tells Jaime that he did kill Joffrey and tells him about all of Cersei's infidelities (she sleeps with more people than just Lancel Lannister in the books, but they cut all those characters too). Choosing to omit this scene completely changes how both these characters develop in the following seasons which heavily effects the plots too; Tyrion is supposed to go down a much darker path and Jaime becomes slightly paranoid and becomes very disillusioned in Cersei. The episode is great, but cutting out this one scene from the books is one of the show's biggest mistakes.

Yeah, I think Shae was truly with another solider when Bronn found her in the beginning. It was when Cersei pointed Shae out to Tywin at Joffrey’s wedding that she got with Tywin and lied on Tyrion during his trial. Remember it was just before the wedding that Tyrion and Shae argued and kinda broke up. She was pissed and was likely easily swayed to be on Tywin’s side.

If you recall Melisandre convinced Stannis to go north to the Wall because of her vision after they received the raven from Castle Black. Stannis and Davos then went to get the loan from the Iron Bank and the mercs, along with the pirate dude's fleet. As it said in the books, ravens made their way to every man claiming to be King of the Seven Kingdoms. But only one man responded and put on hold his war. Stannis was the King Who Cared. Of course, this demonstrates why he should have been king the whole time. Renly screwed everything up.
