Hi Most enjoyable video Thought it maybe of interest that the Wingham Layout was constructed during the late 1980s early 1990s for the exhibition scene by the late Rodney James of AR Kits. your video brought back some fond memories of my good friend Rodney and the fun time we had sharing the Wingham layout with the many visitors at the various exhibitions we attended. Wingham was one of the first per DCC exhibition layouts which could be run with the operator out front of the layout which allowed face to face contact with the public. The operation of the trains from the storage area at the back was automated which allowed the operator to control the movement of all trains from the main control panel. this layout also introduced many concepts was are now common on a number of layouts we see today including the automatic level crossings.
Thank you , I missed out on it when it was "new" as living in Perth is a long way from home to me but it's always a joy to visit the Taree MRC just to see the layout again ; I'd like to have met Rod & it's sad that he's no longer with us & if you're interested in visiting me over here in W.A. - please contact me via my "Kev's Workshop" website by going to my "Contacts" page & we can try to organise something that might suit you perhaps???
