Kiama to Central real time cab view

- Опубликовано: 31 дек 2018
- Train journey from Kiama Railway Station through to Sydney Central Railway Station.
This is in real time, no cuts to the footage, so you'll need about 2 hours to watch the whole thing.
Along the way you'll hear Waterfall Signal Box advising me of trespassers in the corridor.
A lot of the footage had to be muted, regrettably, as I was playing music in the cab and RUclips picked that up on the initial upload and made a copyright claim. However you still hear me chatting with the signal box - although you don't hear them speaking as it's a different setup compared to the V sets.

Enjoy!
Regardless of the lack of sound, that was an enjoyable couple of hours. Thanks for posting an excellent video.
I like the way you display the station names that's a great touch good job
Thanks for posting this video. Parts of this trip represent some of the best scenic rail spots around Sydney.
I think I might have taken this ride more than 50 years ago. But the view was not as panoramic!
This video made me miss Australia so much more than I had expected. Time to return from California to my true home!
Thanks for another great ride!
This is awesome. I grew up in Dapto and Kiama was a popular holiday spot for my family. I remember taking this train ride in the late 80s on a return trip on a school excursion. After my family moved to W.A in 1989, I'd only had very shaky memories of that lovely route. Thanks for this mate, I was researching the old red rattlers and decided to look up my old train station in Dapto when I stumbled across this vid.
What a great experience you brought to us. Love it.
Thanks for a great video full of lovely bi station names I missed on another much later one. Some of the quality was a bit iffy but basically pretty good. No one is commenting on how slow some of the trip was?
Great video,thanks for posting.
brilliant landscape + the same route, you could almost believe it would be here in Germany in the Black Forest or in the Middle Rhine Valley between Mainz + Koblenz. Many greetings from Heidelberg, good old Germanny.
that page at 0:20 is really nice, shows the inner workings of the driver. thanks for providing it
A big thumbs up from me for this vid!! I haven’t travelled on that line since the seventies on the South Coast Daylight!! Which kind of gives away my age! And a thumbs down though for the copyright problem-its not like it’s a bootleg 2hour music video! Keep ‘em coming mate!
I remember that train you speak of.
Thanks for this video. I wonder if a Kiama to Bomaderry cab view video exists anywhere on the 'net?
I had to say the Kiama to Central trip is 2 hours long going past T4 stations with stops and going though tunnels Waterfall to Heathcoat that is awesome. Playing music as well.
Excellent
I like my head end rides to have sound!!!!
Nice sunny cab ride through New South Wales near Sydney. It is my first cabride in Australia. Have been all over Europe, but not here . What was that all about people trespassing near Waterfall station? Did not spot the trespassers anywhere nearby. Hope for more uploaded videos of Australia.
Oh just noticed that Coniston is speller wrong in this video
Good video, pity about the sound of the train, may be it could re-videoed with the sound of the train. You Sydney train drivers are great, you hear the bloke saying, _Door closing, please stand clear! Like in Brisbane, then *ding* then you go, not like i Melbourne, just the horn, nothing else, even Adelaide nothing really, sometime horn, when approaching a level crossing!
Doesn't Melbourne and Adelaide Metros have guards like Sydney and Brisbane?
Like similar videos there was no indication , for those not in the know (1) various train numbers (2) an unexplained sheet at the beginning was for
Otherwise , appreciated.
Sadly, dun more is closed.
Is this also muted to "protect the innocent"? ;)
Any of the Blue Mountains mate
Coming up hopefully late tonight, I've got a Central to Springwood & return.
What company do you work for to do that
Good video but would be better with sound.
23:09 wow 140 kph (white sign)
I didn't see 140kph at 23:10
@@Rosshenderson Actually at 23:09 you can see the speed limits at left
31:27 Kembla Grange Racecourse
Dapto is a odd name how do you pronounce it? Dap-Toe or Da-Pto?
Dap-toe :-)
@Alistair Harding thx I was thinking that’s how u pronounce it
It is how you pronounce it
Are you an intercity driver?
Used to be...
Man
Are you allowed to play music in the cab
Allow is possibly not the right word. But no manager/team leader (most of whom are ex-drivers) that I met ever cared about it.
Aslong as you can still hear your bell. Radio and any other possible alarms there is no problem. Seen many drivers listen to music in the cab. Same with guards
Odd how Wollongong & north Wollongong spelt correctly on this video. But couldn't do it on your port kembla to central video?
We're all human Ross, mistakes happen.
Wow, tough crowd!
