Another inside day at Homestead on the Hill. We try an Alton Brown cooking hack to help brown up our fried onions. Check it out to see how well this works.
Thanks for this great video, that's how my Mom steamed the buns when I was a kid. She'd boil the living heck out of the hot dogs in the water first until it became three times the size and then steam the bun on top. That was awesome, I miss that and guess what I'm gonna do this weekend and I'll try your onion tip too. 😊
Not bad, I'll be watching for more. One thing though, you know that brown stain around your other burner will come off that stainless steel fairy easily
Try this...get your cast iron pan smoking hot when you are done cooking then run it under cold water while you gently scrub it with a pad. It works great. Everything leaps off the pan.

I occasionally use Barkeepers Helper to clean the stove top. Very occasionally!
Wow, thanks

Prepare for the legions of cast iron pan lovers to organize against you.
@@StaceyRobinsmith you're right ✅️. I was already shaking my head "no no no," in my mind. But, I was not going to comment. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Ketchup. He put ketchup on the hotdogs. (shudder)
Funny, I cut out the part where I said “don’t hate because I added ketchup.” I knew that ketchup would be a polarizing move!!
@@StaceyRobinsmith I actually like ketchup on hot dogs 🌭 too. I get flack for it too.
Bacon fat makes everything better.
Or you could just place the buns on top of dog's n onions and stream them from there.
So true.
