    Something to note, there is a “hidden” menu you can access by holding the tune button while you power it up. You can disable that beep and also adjust some stuff with the RF sensing/Wattage reading.

    Just got mine in today. I was surprised to find that it was smaller than I expected. Tried it out and was surprised that it tuned 80m on the 40m element on my fan dipole. But when I use it on my 10m element. You can hear my voice in the relays and it constantly tunes during transmit. Over all I love it! Cheap and compact for those who want to save space. Thanks for you for passing this along to us.

    I had to replace the battery in mine after a year. Instead of trying to fit one inside, I opted to put one on top running the wires around the back edge and inside. I taped it flat and am otherwise pleased with it. There's really no room to play with trying to get another battery inside so I went with one with better specs which should give longer run time.

    Turn the unit off, it will hold or "latch" the last "tune" then transmit at will.
    Once tuned to the frequency in use it does not need to be powered on until you need a retune.
    Its my tuner of choice for my ft891 in a backpack for its compactness, forever battery life (no need to keep it powered up), and the latching reason.
    I away appreciate your candor and great content Steve!

    I have an AT-100M and it does a great job if I'm using an AM signal. When playing with FT8 it constantly fails. Do digital modes give these devices problems? There is a menu (hold button down while powering on) that allows manual control, so is the solution to manually tune with a AM signal near the FT8 band and then run FT8?

    • @temporarilyoffline
      @temporarilyoffline  Год назад

      FT8 puts out a good deal of your radios power to the antenna system, I'd say more that AM, so it might be harder to tune. The end game would be to run manually and then make antenna improvements to get a closer match. But as long as you are having fun, that's a win!

      I haven't had one in my hands yet, but TheSmokinApe and KK6USSY Ham Radio Adventures both did a review on it. My take so far is that they are both good, but if you don't have one, get the Pro. If you have the old model, I don't see much reason to upgrade.
