I am shutting my Etsy shop down also after the holidays. Sales are lowest ever in 15 years. Views are crickets. I agree the sales are only with coupons x. Etsy sucks!!! FYI I am a handmade vendor
I don't know why but sometimes usps lose my package, or deliver to a wrong address, etc and customers expect replacement out for free instead of going through etsy purchase protection. I end up sending a replacement. I think Amazon spoiled customers.

A video about the Purchase Protection would be great! I've never had my customers use it because I thought it was bad to have cases against you.
It doesn't hurt your shop to use it...Think of it as a claim, not a case.

Amazon handmade is or was free to list and you’d pay after sell fees. A normal vendor would pay $40 a month to list with more fees
